high school graduation question

hi ^^

this is a really random question O.o I usually don't dedicate entire blog posts to a simple question but I was just wondering...

in whatever countries all of you are from, is graduating from high school considered a big deal? is it a big occasion or anything?

I guess it depends on your surroundings and home life. At my house a high school diploma means nothing. It's just the beginning. A college degree is what matters. But in a family/neighborhood that has a low graduation rate it's a big deal.

We have a 100 days till graduatiom countdown, celebrare it and after that we take the exams. Basically its not unimportant but not a big deal either. Most try to apply to an university but a lot of peiple just try to find a job or something. Lithuania is very pessimistic so people tend to take the easy way out because they fear failure. I'm sorry, that's probably unnecesary infornation haha

Canada! We have a big event called commencement. It's a major life accomplishment, but graduating college/university is considered more important.

in the uk not so much you celebrate your last week but you don't have a graduation ceremony, we have prom as a way to celebrate. You tend to have a big graduation ceremony after completeing university as this is a much bigger achievement.

Not really. It's graduating college which matters more.

Not a big deal at all in my country. Graduating university is more important! Then the parents will be proud!
