Δ relax a little — on the exterior, kim eunseol is a successful bachelorette – with her company that she has pushed back on track from bankruptcy, stunning good looks and loads of money. she comes off as one who appears to not need anything other than monetary benefits: that is only what someone who does not know eunseol would say. born with a silver spoon in a mouth, only for it to be yanked out of when bankruptcy hit her family like a wave; eunseol has experience poverty and privilege. eunseol's definition of poverty was definitely not one that most would agree with, neither was it the most accurate depiction of living in poverty, but considering the drastic change in life, eunseol had every reason to call it poverty. and thus, she spend the most of her adult hood trying to push her company back on track, she didn't even have time for romance. only now has she realised just how much she's lacking. on the inside is a girl who wants love but can't find it; given her prideful self, she refuses to simply date just anyone. she wants true love, but everyone who knows her only wants her money. as much as she refuses to admit, she wants to experience true love – something she's been lacking for her whole life.

Δ the art of getting what you want — with an expanded vocabulary of four different languages, she has a plausible fluency in the languages such that she is able to clearly express herself. other than just a matter of expression, the girl is also gifted in persuasion – definitely a must if you work in big corporations and have to deal and socialize with representatives of other companies to sign a deal. others think it's because of her pretty face that's why she always gets the deals; but confidently, she's able to brush their opinions off. eunseol is confident to the point whereby she feels that there is no need to explain her stand or herself; so long as she knows what she did or did not do, she's assured. in that sense, she's a pretty self assured person. eunseol is quite an honest person, she feels that honesty is the best policy. with no trust, nothing can be achieved. however, in certain situations, eunseol knows that she can't say certain things. being the bright one she is, she chooses her words very wisely such that she does not offend anyone. while she is confident, she does also know where she stands on the hierarchy system in different situations. but when she has the upper hand, she's honest to a fault: brutal and vicious, she doesn't hold back at all.
Δ where are you busily headed to? — she is the perfect example of a modern day working woman: hard working and diligent. despite being the ceo, who usually sits their in the company building all day and does nothing but take money from the company, she actually arrives as one of the earliest and does one of the most work. she spends little to no time interacting with her subordinates – with the time she does not socialize, she uses that time to do all her work. if she does have free time in the office, she actually does her subordinates' works. she's the type to stay behind in the office and do even more work – all in all, she's a hardcore workaholic, who can't seem to really put her work down. she barely gives herself any day off; and even in the comfort of her own home, she has a home office, where she does even more work. she's an even better of a leader: not only is she a good speaker, but also a responsible leader. responsible also refers to her being in control of most situations she handles and taking over uncompleted jobs of her subordinates.
Δ a subtle form of arrogance — she shows great pride in everything she does: she feels the need to be of worthy of other's praises. you can choose not to compliment her work, but if you insult it, that's another thing altogether. she deems and assures herself as competent and efficient, and so when it comes to the context of her projects, works etc, you cannot insult as it will always be flawless. she has a perfectionist streak, whereby she refuses to hand in anything she reckons as faulty. sincere apologies and gratitude is rare with eunseol; she sees the stated two as lowering her pride. even if the words 'thank you' and 'i'm sorry' were really to come from her, it's usually nonchalant and hollow. her prideful trait can often come off as arrogance as she clearly shows efficiency and superiority over others. this trait of her's comes off as a double edged sword: while it acts as a self motivation to urge her to do better in everything, it also stands in her way of owning up to her own mistakes, offer apologies and accepting the pros of others as well.
Δ hey now, don't dream, it's over — while she has just the right amount of ambition, she has a greater amount of realism. so much so that she often comes off as a pessimist. "the higher your goal, the greater your expectation," eunseol has learned that the hard way. she sets small goals and leaves the bigger ones at the back of the car; if she even reaches the smaller one, she'll give a try on the bigger goals. people say you need a goal or a finish line to accomplish anything: eunseol proves them wrong with her company. with analyzing all situations, she's learned to stop looking at the brighter side of things and focus on the worse side of things. with a pragmatic and practical mindset, she understands what can be accomplished and what cannot be. she sees life for what it is and will not sugar coat it; this appliesfor pretty much everything. but that doesn't mean she'll just give up. she might have a slightly negative mind set, but that won't stop her from actually improving the situation.

Δ coffee — as unhealthy as it sounds, she drinks at least three cups a day: one in the morning to kick start her day, one during lunch and another during dinner. not to forget her coffee she drinks while doing work. coffee is like her work buddy, the caffeine acts well as a booster to get her on task and focused. she doesn't drink coffee mix, she deems it as too cheap for her. at work, she gets her secretary to buy her usual americano, some times she gets the iced one, too. but at home , she uses the coffee capsules machine.
Δ cigarette smoke — when her father went through bankruptcy, he became hooked onto smoking. at that time, their life changed real quick: from mid-yearly holidays to working everyday. back then, she really wanted to go overseas and travel, but she wasn't sensible enough. the faint smell of cigarette, however, smelt like fresh hotels and since then, she has loved the smell. though she will much prefer an actual hotel rather than inhaling toxic fumes.
Δ apple inc — despite being korean, she doesn't seem to support local brand samsung too much; rather, she's a huge fan of apple inc products. as of the current moment, she's usually iphone 6 plus ( which can change any moment because 7 is coming out soon ), has a macbook pro 13-inch sitting in her apartment and a 27 inch imac sitting on her office table. not to forget her apple watch and her appletv that is ironically connected to her samsung tv.
Δ shin ramen — "you can never be too rich for ramen", it's a secret that she tries to hide away. she has a stash of it in her apartment and would usually eat it when she comes home from a long day of work. the only person who knows about this is probably her younger sister. she usually eats with with eggs, vegetables and fish cakes; she turns a packet of instant noodles to a filling and whole meal.
Δ nature — believe it or not, eunseol is extremely inclined with nature. since young, she has enjoyed gardening.her house is a literal nature reserve. not only does she enjoy nature in the comfort of her own home, but she also enjoys back pack travelling in the outskirts of cities in other countries. she usually travels to odd, but exotic places; sometimes she goes alone, sometimes she goes with her cousin, because her sister just isn't up for it.

Δ summer — summer is usually enjoyed by the younger, more vibrant bunch of people – sadly, eunseol is not one of them. considering what she wears on a daily basis, she just really isn't summer ready, period. it only gets hot and uncomfortable for her.
Δ high heels — ironic, because she wears them everyday. what her subordinates don't know is that she has a pair of slippers in her office so that she can change out of heels. no matter how often she wears them, she'll never get used to the straining feeling that is caused by the heels.
Δ fast food — fried chicken, hamburgers and all that trash, she does not want to go down that lane. being a complete health freak, she sees those gm food and she sees it for what its for. that being said, she has never tried beer and chicken. maybe just beer, but never that combo.
Δ hospitals — hospitals, clinics, doctors – she hates them all. it's been almost 5 years since she actually went to see either of the three. that doesn't go to say that she is in perfect health, because even she knows she probably has some health issue that hasn't risen as a big issue yet.
Δ strong cologne & perfume — working in a corporate company, it's like a wind of toxic fumes every morning. she enjoys an office that doesn't reek of the trash bin, but she doesn't quite enjoy her subordinates showering in cologne and perfume. it gives her a terrible headache.

[ she doesn't have much hobbies because she's bit of a workaholic, so most of her time is dedicated to her company. ]
Δ sports — as she's a little bit of a health freak, she commits a certain amount of time everyday to work out. the three main areas are yoga, jogging and swimming. every morning, she gets up and jogs for a while at her home gym, then she'll swim for awhile; she'll then do yoga in the night.
Δ reading — she has a home library, that's how much she loves reading. though her favorite author will always remain as haruki murakami. considering she doesn't go out of her home often, and when she does, it's usually to work, most of her free time is consumed by reading.

Δ laughing — she doesn't smile often, let alon laugh; but when she does, her nose scrunches up to form a crease, almost like a wrinkle on her face.
Δ crying — again, something she doesn't do often. but when she does, she usually gnawls on her lips.
Δ drunk — she's a good drinker, but there is a limit to her drinking skills. when she does get drunk, she starts acting very chummy with everyone.
Δ sleeping — her sleeping habits are quite bad: she doesn't snore, but she does sleep talk occasionally. that's not the worst though: eunseol tends to shift around on the bed a lot. when she goes to sleep, she might sleep in a straight manner, but by morning, her whole body would be sprawled over the bed.

Δ 01 — she has obtained a drivers' license and drives a black porsche cayenne vantage 2. she has another car that she used to drive that just sits in her garage now, but she is really just waiting for someone to buy it from her considering the pristine condition of it.
Δ 02 — you will never spot eunseol at a club unless forced to, when she wants to go drinking, she doesn't go clubs, she goes to pubs where the environment is a lot better. she usually goes when she's stressed and she also goes alone.
Δ 03 — in all honest, eunseol does not know her blood type. the only way to possibly find out was a blood test and frankly, if hospitals or needles are involved, she's not that interested anymore. she doesn't fear the hospital, its just that place has horrible vibes.
Δ 04 — on her right ring finger, she wears her mom's wedding band that she gave her when she passed away. apparently, it was passed down to her from her father's mom. as much as possible, she tries not to remove it to prevent losing the ring. it is possibly her most prized possession.
Δ 05 — she's prone to muscle cramps on her two calves after sitting down too long. and so when she's working, she usually take short breaks to walk around the district of where her company is located at.
Δ 06 — what comes off as a surprise to most people is the fact that she actually has a twitter and instagram account. to be more exact, they were accounts that she made as a teenager, which she still uses. she doesn't use twitter often, just small updates here and there; but she does still use instagram often, her current photos are mainly of her with her friends during their night outs, they're mainly in black and white.
Δ 07 — another surprise is that she has actually been set up for arranged marriages at least three times. the first one was a huge flunk, their personalities were too different and he was ( believe it or not ) a bigger of a head than she was, they didn't even make it past two weeks of engagement. her second one wasn't bad, but he had another girl and that went against her morale compass. the third one lasted the longest, 5 months into engagement, but he was merely using her for monetary purposes. tl;dr: all failed, horribly.
Δ 08 — for some reason, eunseol smells of mint and caramel; it's not just on her, but also her clothes and her home. most of her peers have deemed that sweet smell as her scent.
Δ 09 — having low body fat, the girl struggles with the cold. fun fact: her hands are always cold – no matter what weather or season, eunseol would always bring an outer coat with her for the fear of the cold getting to her. that being said, she's prone to catching the flu; and she doesn't see the doctor when she's down with a flu, instead, she just take flu tablets and sleeps it off.
Δ 10 — her eating habits are horrible. in the morning, her breakfast usually consists of one cup of coffee, sometimes a sandwich or some convenient food she got her secretary to buy. for lunch, it's coffee and lunch box that was ordered by her secretary, again. whereas for dinner, she usually does not eat it in the office, but at home instead; out of all three meals, she eats the most during dinner. before her sister left to study in france, she would stock up eunseol's kitchen with proper food that only requires heating up.
Δ 11 — as much as she hates to admit, she has never had a first love or a first kiss. sure, she's had her own list of ex-boyfriends ( including the ones she had as a teenager ) but none came close to a first love. she has also had a fair share of kisses on her cheek, but none dared to actually kiss her.
Δ 12 — she graduated from seoul national university in spring 2014 with a masters degree in accounting and business administration. however, when barely a university student, eunseol worked in her father's oil company due to certain implications and was the one who brought it back from bankruptcy
Δ 13 — psychologically speaking, she's not ocd, but her lifestyle says otherwise. she is a very neat person, as one can definitely tell from her house. she can't really stand dirt, so she often hires a cleaner to clean her house with direct and straight to the point instructions.
Δ 14 — if not for the fact that she has to work for her family's company, she would've took the tougher route as an artist. since young, she has had a raw talent for drawing realism. she had every intention to become an artist, sadly that didn't turn out the way she wanted. as much as possible, she tries to stay away from drawing so as to not rake up past interest causing her endless bitterness.
Δ 15 — sometimes, when she's stressed or just bored, in the middle of the night, she'll drive around to random places. she's thankful for her gps because she's naturally not good with roads and directions, darkness will not help.
Δ 16 — to eunseol, fridays are the start of her weekends and she celebrates the end of the week by pampering herself. with a bath bomb in the tub, she'd sit in the bathtub for 45 minutes to an hour, doing all sorts of scrub ( face scrub, body scrub, feet scrub etc ) – and in general, just pampering herself
Δ 17 — by papers, she's stated as christian. it's only that way because her family members are all christian; but really, she's far from your regular christian. she doesn't go to sunday school, she barely even visits the church, she believes in spirits, she doesn't wear a cross and she most definitely does not have any cross in her apartment.
Δ 18 — given that horrid personality of her's, it seems as if she has a very daring and bold personality – almost as if nothing can scare her. well, you're dead wrong. the girl has a terrible fear of heights. until the age of 15 years old, eunseol had to keep holding onto the bar by the staircase for support.
Δ 19 — if you were to throw her somewhere random without her hand phone, it would be a real mental breakdown for her. it's not that she messages a lot either ( the only few people she messages on a daily basis are her younger sister and kwanghee ), its just she can't call anyone even with a pay phone because eunseol cannot memorize numbers for .
Δ 20 — her hair is perhaps one of her most prized assets. she even washes it twice to assure she's gotten rid of the dirt. she doesn't quite enjoy it short, but does cut it to a specific length of a little over her shoulders for maintenance purposes.

Δ before the storm — eunseol was born to the kim residence as the oldest daughter. despite being the oldest, she was still spoiled rotten by her parents. she had it all then. her family owned an oil company, whereby income was stable and more than sufficient. at that point of time, she was really spoiled. at the age of 15 years old, eunseol has never picked up a broom before, neither has she even washed her own underwear. she was that entitled and spoiled. her personality was a mess back then: not only was she overly pampered, but she was also flamboyant and a complete show off. to her, money was like the air she breathed: it was never ending and thus she felt an entitlement to it. it was all okay then because of her parents' business.
Δ the storm before the rainbow — the first wave of episode of misfortune hit the kim's residence as her mother was found with lung cancer. unfortunately, she was already in the mid stages of cancer. chemotherapy could be option for her, but it really won't help much. the doctor had said that she only had a few months to leave, a year or two at most. her mom was cheerful about approaching this issue tho, she didn't want to drag the mood of her family down with her health. as soon as she passed away months later, the second phase came: one of the higher ups of their company was caught in embezzlement of the company's money to invest in stocks, only for the stocks to drop horribly. thus resulting in the company's stocks dropping. from there, it was a slippery slope down: their company was eventually gave up and opt for bankruptcy.
Δ went from 100 to 0, real quick — from a land property to a rooftop house, the change was drastic. for a girl who was selfish and entitled, it didn't make the changing of lifestyle any easier for the family of three. she wouldn't admit now, but she was a pain to deal with. even when she had known that her father's business was down, she still kept reaching her hand out and asking for money. as a father, he felt like he was responsible for her; and so he gave it to her despite not having enough to eat. he gave into smoking his worries and stress away; it was only a matter of time before his health gave up on him. but his death seemed all too sudden for the two girls. the only reason she changed today was for her father and her sister: his dying wish was for her to revive the company that his father gave him.
Δ let's be happy — fresh from high school, she was forced by her own conscience to be taken under her cousin's wing to learn and master the concept of corporate business. the whole period of misfortune changed her for the better. her father's dying wish to bring the company back on track only made her desperation for a better life stronger. it was difficult considering barely anyone trusted her abilities – if you think about it, what was a high school graduate able to do? what would she know about business anyway? she couldn't say that it was completely her own doing in bringing the company back; her cousin had a role to play to. he taught her the basics in corporate world: the terms, the concepts and most importantly what she can actually do. within three years, she was able to accomplish what her father had wanted, she was happy, she could provide her sister with a proper life.

Δ 06:00am - 07:00am — on a daily basis, she wakes up at 6. she then washes up, gets a cup of coffee. that usually takes less than 10 minutes. she then prepares for her morning workout: 15 minutes of jogging, then another 15 minutes devoted to swimming. after her workout, she'll take a short 15 minutes shower. and then she's off to work.
Δ 07:00am - 07:15am — this time is dedicated to going to work. by right, all employees should reach the office by 07:30am, but because eunseol is a huge workaholic, she usually reaches 15 minutes earlier to get work done. before she reaches, she might go to the convenient shop at the lobby of their office to get a sandwich or a frozen lunch box.
Δ 07:15am - 12:00pm — work. she usually just sits in her office, but she occasionally goes out of the office to move her legs a little.
Δ 12:00pm - 01:00pm — what should be lunch, but again, she just stays in the office and does even more work. lunch is bought by her secretary, sometimes she refuses it and just doesn't eat lunch altogether; but sometimes she opts to buy lunch on her own.
Δ 01:00pm - 08:00pm — even more work. by right, all employees get to leave at 06:30pm, but eunseol being eunseol, she usually works over night everyday. despite the late time she gets off work at, she doesn't eat lunch in the office.
Δ 08:00pm - 08:15pm — getting off work. she might get the gorceries or buy herself a quick dinner, but it's only occasionally.
Δ 08:15pm - 09:45pm — when she returns home, she first takes a brief shower, not washing her hair. she then does her daily yoga routine, which lasts for about 20 minutes. after that yoga session, she then takes a full blown shower by washing her hair, too.
Δ 09:45pm - 10:45pm — this refers to the time of preparation, consumption and washup of dinner. for eunseol, dinner is usually rice with soy bean paste and side dishes that her cousin brings over in bulks. she'd usually just sit infront of the tv in her living room and watch while she eats her dinner.
Δ 10:45pm - 12:00am — this period of time is just free time that she gets before she washes up and sleeps. she would usually do a little bit of gardening, house maintenace or read; it really varies everyday. with the last 20 minutes, she deems it as wash up time. then it's lights out.
Δ i wanna big house, big cars & big rings — she currently works as a ceo at her family's company, kim corporations, a large oil company that is known internationally. that being said, the girl earns more than sufficient to give herself a comfortable and luxirious life; and also give her younger sister an education that she always wanted. she currently lives alone in daechi-dong, gangnam-gu, an area whereby it is densely populated. she lives in a two storey nature sanctuary, with a big backyard that she uses to garden and grow flowers. Her house belongs to her, it's not rented, borrowed, or any of that sort – the house is bought under her name and she intends to stay there for a long period of time. her sister is currently abroad in france to study culinary, but when she returns, she's going back to rooming with eunseol. out of a year of 365 days, eunseol usually takes short breaks inbetween to go backpack traveling or sometimes camping with her cousin.

Δ you are forever a high sky to me — before all that death and bankruptcy came about, kim sunghoon was probably the best father in the whole world to eunseol. not only did the man showering her with loads of affection, but he also showered her with cash. as much as she'd be ashamed of admitting to it now, she had always been more of a daddy's girl than a mommy's girl because of the money he gives her. nonetheless, he was an amazing father that stood by all of her decisions – perhaps so much so that she became a spoiled, entitled princess. however, the man was also the reason for her change; its a pity, he was not able to see it for himself.
lee eunyoung ; loving, motherly, caring ; died at age 51
Δ these words annoyed me but today it’s different — while sungjoon was the fun one, her mother, lee eunyoung, was the delicate and caring one. she would always put their health and well being before her own; perhaps too much, considering she's completely ignored her own health while taking care of their's. interactions with her mom are pretty foggy as she can't remember well: what she prominently recalls is how she's cook all her meals – breakfast, lunch and dinner – to make sure she doesn't skip a meal. now, thinking back about it definitely makes the girl cry buckets as she never actually cherished her mom. and now that she's gone, she only has a block of rock with her mom's information carved onto it as a mom figure.
kim sohyun ; mischievous, tactful, impatient ; 21 years old ; student at le cordon bleu paris culinary arts school
Δ we'll be just fine — being the only direct family sohyun has left, eunseol feels a sense of responsibility to her younger sister. almost as if she feels the need to protect and provide for her – as she worked to get the company back into line, this was one of the few things she thought about, aside thinking about her decreased father. despite sohyun living abroad right now, the two have an extremely close sister bond that isn't common in other households – during their time of monetary crisis, they even shared underwear. so never compare a mere sister bond to what eunseol has with sohyun. the former is extremely protective of the latter – eunseol doesn't let any guy date sohyun until he has went past eunseol.
ahn jisoo ; charming, extroverted, dubious ; 25 years old ; real estate agent
Δ hey, soul sister — jisoo is, sadly, one of the few people that eunseol can actually call a friend, a very close friend actually. the two have been the best of friends since middle school. it is safe to say that ahn jisoo is almost family – considering how close she is to eunseol's family. jisoo is pretty much her morale and emotional support: after losing her mother, she had also lost someone to talk to about her problems. however, with jisoo there, it made things a lot easier. unlike most of her friends in high school, the two didn't stray too far despite the mess in eunseol's household; if anything, the misfortunes possibly brought them closer to one another. in the past few years while eunseol was trying to push the company back up, jisoo was there for her to make sure she didn't lose her sanity to the company.
jung mirae ; talkative, impatient, humourous ; 24 years old ; her secretary
Δ i'll be there — her personal assistant slash secretary slash personal runner slash form of entertainment: what can be said? the girl wants to do many things in life, and she has completed that. despite working in the corporate industry, the girl is a complete ditz – the only reason why miyoung is working directly under her is because she promised james ( a friend and her ex-fiancé ) she'd give his cousin a chance, and she did. but because she was a complete mess, she just put her as her secretary to do all her errands. the girl can be a form of entertainment as she talks non stop and what she talks about will often render you speechless – if that happened to eunseol, it will definitely happen to you. the amount of bull that comes out from is just no joke.

Δ i'll hold up just fine — kim jiseob is like the older brother she's never had before – protective and loving, he is caring to her like how she is with sohyun, only stronger and carries more weight with his words. after their parents died, jiseob was the one who taught eunseol the strings of corporate world – he had originally wanted to just take over the company and help her get it back on its feet before handing it to her again. but she was too stubborn and too prideful to accept such a situation. right now, the two keep in constant contact, messaging each other on a weekly basis, mainly initiated by him to make sure that she's holding up fine. more than anyone, he knows that even if she were in crisis, she wouldn't ask for help now. as an older brother figure, he will not allow that.

Δ i hate you and i hope you drop dead — he wasn't her first arranged marriage, but perhaps he was the one who made her almost fall in love. they lasted the longest out of her three failed arranged marriages: five months into their engagement, it was practically dating for 5 months. the two were perfect for each other: so they said. but it was a little too perfect, so much so that it felt forced and insincere. nonetheless, she brushed it off. it wasn't until she accidentally walked in on a conversation between him and hid father did she realized she was used for monetary purposes with no feelings attached. while she didn't love him, the thought that she almost did with someone like him broke her.

Δ just friends, i guess — this comes of as a shock to most of their peers, but eunseol is actually dating kwanghee. whereas kwanghee had held a torch for eunseol since middle school all the way to university, eunseol only started noticing the boy in university; this was only because she had started going to the school's library where he was often found in. their friendship blossomed in university when eunseol started to become more sensible. only earlier this year did he finally gather all his courage to confess to her; him liking her, it wasn't something that was kept discreet and eunseol knew, she just didn't think that he would actually confess. she had accepted it, much to his surprise; she didn't harbour any romantic feelings for him, but she was desperate to feel loved ( as much as she hated to admit it ). she was using him, she wasn't going to deny it, but she expected herself to eventually come to like him considering how kind and loving he was towards her.
things between them fell real quick: within weeks of their relationship. as it turns out, kwanghee was not her ideal type, neither was he the type she would get along with. he was way too weak and insecure for her liking - he lacked his own general opinion, always tailing behind her like a lost puppy. rather than feeling loved, she felt suffocated and stressed because of how childish his possessiveness was. he was, in fact, the main reason why she applied for the match making. he had gotten angry at mirae for joking about helping her sign up for it, and that only made her want to rebel against him even more. eventually, they had broke up, tearing the kwanghee apart. frankly, when they were together, he didn't even know if they were actually together because eunseol would claim that they're just friends. when he probed her about it, she'd brush him off.

first meeting
Δ part one — this was in late 2011, when eunseol first met yifan at a new years eve party. on that night, jisoo had successfully dragged eunseol out from her workaholic shell to club and drink her night and stress away; that night was one of the rare few nights whereby she allowed herself to step foot into a club. she never liked the atmosphere of clubs, rowdy and disorderly. nonetheless, for jisoo's sake, she followed through with her plan. at first, the night seemed okay; that was until yifan came about. the nature of the club was crowded, it was only natural for people to bump into each other; but having your dress drenched in a cold cup of alcohol was something she would not tolerate. at once he apologized, thinking she'd be forgiving. but having been "accidentally" touched one too many times that night, she was done with being compassionate and so she slapped him across the face, hard. of course, the poor boy was shocked – he was genuinely sorry, so he didn't understand why he had to be slapped. not another word to yifan or jisoo, eunseol walked out with jisoo trailing after her.
Δ part two — it had been years since she had a genuine relationship ( though she was dating kwanghee a little before she was matchmade, she never actually considered her as her boyfriend ), she was beyond excited though she had said nothing of it. when she had arrived at the house, the feeling of nervousness increased; she had not been this anxious and nervous about something other than the success of her business this past few years. this felt different, but good. however, all her dreams shattered as he saw her match. turns out, yifan was an extremely smooth speaker, he was able to convince her not to call the agency – not to mention, the house privileges she gets.

Δ phase two: first three months, getting used to each other — living under the same roof together, interactions between them is only logical. despite having much conflict at the start of their relationship, this couple's progress was probably one of the fastest in the sense that they had skipped past the awkward relationship, going straight for a comfortable relationship, whereby formalities are no longer in use. it was probably because they had fought before, and thus have seen each others' ugly side, nothing fazes them anymore. within just weeks of their stay in their shared apartment, their relationship became comfortable for both eunseol and yifan. they didn't make an active effort in learning each other's way of life and interests; it just came to them as they made small talks with each other when they see each other within the house, which is most of the time. they only talk to each other when it's convenient for them in the house – if say, they happened to be home during the weekend, they'd order chinese food and eat together while chatting with each other. with their conversations, it's mainly yifan initiating and stimulating their conversations, prompting her for answers and cracking stupid jokes. however, at that point, eunseol remained cold about his jokes, not giving him a proper response other than a blunt and offensive remark that he doesn't bother taking to heart. with yifan's prompting, they went from just sharing meals together to grocery shopping together. verbally, she'd never admit that by the end of their first three months together, their relationship developed into a friendship.
Δ phase three: start of fourth month, complications and implications — the start of their fourth month was kicked started by yifan receiving a phone call to their apartment from the hospital claiming that eunseol had passed out. of course, like any other friend, he rushed there quickly. by the time he had arrived, she was awake and talking to the doctor. at that point of time, he was basically eunseol's guardian and thus, he was told by the doctor on her unhealthy eating and lifestyle habits: often works with an empty stomach, sleeps very late only to wake up early. once the doctor was done speaking to him, before yifan could even tell her off about what had just happened, he was demanded by the girl who didn't quite enjoy the hospital to be discharged. he did as she said, but he eventually told her off about her horrid lifestyle, only for the girl to walk out on him as soon as he drove into their apartment complex's parking area.
the following week, eunseol had to send her car into for maintenance; seeing as it wasn't convenient for her to be seen traveling in a public transport, he figured, he would just send her off to work before he goes to school. when she got off the car, turns out, kwanghee was sitting on the steps of her company building, apparently waiting for her. as soon as she step foot out of the car, he rushed to her, telling her about how much he missed her and was sorry about it, and that he would have his own opinion. in general, he was causing a huge havoc infront of her office building, which caused her much distress. yifan, who had been in his car watching all along, immediately rushed out as soon as he could to the girl. however, his appearance only seemed to have triggered the latter even more. feeling the need to protect the girl, he pulled eunseol out of his hold. not knowing what to do, he did the first thing that was on the top of his head: he kissed her. that, for some reason, seemed to have done the trick. kwanghee seemed more provoked as the taller claimed the girl as his and kissed her. he pulled away when kwanghee stalked off. instead of a "thank you" or any other form of gratitude, she questioned him on why he did that.

with that, she rushed into the building, never looking back. that night, she had dreaded going back to their shared home; considering it was her first kiss, she couldn't have possibly thought nothing of it. when she reached home, yifan had questioned her about the guy earlier in the morning, but she brushed him off. from then and there, their relationship soured. no matter what he said or did, she was cold to him; their relationship had never been this terrible before and it made yifan feel slightly angered and disappointed.
Δ phase four: ending of fourth month, battle of prides — their relationship stayed sour until yifan finally approached her again about their fight. on a saturday morning, yifan cornered her into the kitchen, making sure that she wouldn't even have the chance to slip past. needless to say, his little confrontation led to a huge fight: they fought mainly about her discrete personality and how she never actually told him anything about herself. after an hour of quarreling back and forth, they eventually stopped because they were getting no where with fighting. they eventually stormed off into their rooms with heavy hearts and no conclusion.

Δ phase five: fifth month, lowering my pride — for weeks, they ignored each others' presence. as much as possible, she stayed in her room so as to prevent accidentally walking into him. but still, they lived under the same roof, it's quite a task to have to not walk into each other at all. when they actually do, they try to avoid any form of physical contact ( whether it be brush of the back of their hands or shoulders ) and eye contact. the tension in the air was heavy and awkward, both eunseol and yifan had felt guilty for the fight. both being alpha male and female respectively, neither of the two wanted to put their pride down to apologize. it was an agonizing month as they had to walk on eggshells in their own house; not to mention, the two had lost a friend to talk to. yifan, being the more kind hearted one, was first to put his pride down. again, he cornered her in the kitchen on a saturday morning.

Δ phase six: sixth month, sweet nothings — after the fight, they were brought even closer to each other. they were in an unsaid exclusive relationship, a "some" relationship. eunseol had started to open up more about herself – they would go out for midnight walks talking about everything and anything. yifan also started to initiate more skin ship with eunseol. she would easily put his arms around her and she wouldn't flinch or be shocked. short pecks were slowly introduced into their relationship. only days before their 6 months time was up did they finally exchange the words, "i love you". following that, they had agreed to dating each other.
Δ epilogue: after the sixth months — as mentioned before, the two got into an official relationship just weeks before their 6 months duration was up. despite living under different roofs, it didn't make do much harm to their relationship. rather, because of the distance, it made them even closer. the couple made it a habit to eat out with each other every twice a week; but of course, with yifan, it won't just be 2 times a week. yifan also makes it a point to drive her off from work every day to ensure her safety and to possibly get something to eat with her. eunseol and yifan also often go over to each others' house to do sleepovers often; they also promised to travel overseas together in their free time.

Δ phase one — as mentioned, the two started off the wrong foot and while yifan tried his best to clear the air between them, eunseol was relatively reluctant as she labeled him with the label, 'ert'. at this point of time, yifan never actually actively engage in a conversation with eunseol. he only starts a conversation with her when it seems convenient for both of them: eg. when they're both watching tv, both eating lunch, or both taking the lift down etc. their conversations usually include yifan's corny and cringe worthy jokes, which is followed by eunseol's harsh remarks on how he shouldn't say those jokes because they aren't funny. he doesn't take it to heart, though, he would just laugh it off.
Δ phase two — their relationship had improved from phase 1 to phase 2 in a sense that they were no longer rude to each other: they had originally spoken in informalities ( in phase 1, eunseol used the nickname "nugu" on yifan, but in phase 2, she slowly transitioned to "fan" ). rather than only exchanging words when convenient, it slowly became the other way round: eg. rather than only speaking when in the living room together, they would talk first then sit in the living room to continue their conversation. it eventually became them shouting from one end of the house to another end of the house to carry out a conversation. they also started to go out together for dinner and groceries shopping at this point of time. only at phase 2 did they finally start to learn each others' lifestyle, preference and interests.
Δ phase three — at the start of phase three, it was safe to say that they are close: eunseol was still adamant on not telling him much. the more he tried to pry into her past information ( her teenage years, her failed engagements and her relationships, and her burdens ), the more she felt she wanted to be discreet. having lived with him for a few months now, she has come to learn his kindness and courtesy, she knew that if she would to tell him anything that even seemed mildly pitiful, he'd look at her with those eyes of condolence, which she absolutely hates. nonetheless, their relationship's progress improved, slowly but surely; but things started to go down hill when she was sent to the hospital – althought it was upon good intention, she didn't like that he was involved with her health and telling her about how she should live. moving on, from then, it was all good before another incident happened. he had kissed her, again, to help her. prior to the kiss, she had started developing feelings for him; it wasn't something she could choose, he was sweet to her, but never in the overbearing way because she never allowed him to. the kiss only heightened her feelings for him, which wasn't the direction she was heading for. she wanted to know that he felt the same way before she fell any deeper – even though he was sweet to her, she knew that the guy had a weak heart and would be nice to everyone, she wasn't entirely sure of his feelings. falling for his head first would only cause her more pain. not to mention, the kiss caught her off guard; thus, the reason why she reacted to negatively. towards the end of phase 4, their relationship completely depleted into dust. whenever yifan tried to talk to her, she would brush him off coldly with a nonchalant reply. as much as she didn't want to admit it, by doing so, she wanted to see how far he would go to get her attention. however, sadly, mind games don't work with yifan. within a week, he gave up, thinking that she'd come around.
Δ phase four & five — even after a week of cooling off, the girl didn't budge one bit. nothing worked with her – he figured, only confrontation would work. however, the confrontation led to nothing but another fight between them. as much as eunseol wanted to give in, her pride was standing in the way of her doing so; she didn't want to look like a girl with no will in her, she wanted yifan to see that she was no pushover. but with relationships, it's a two way thing, and she failed to see that part. yifan, on the other hand, didn't want to give in for the same reason: as a guy, he shouldn't be so easily wavered, much less by a girl. with hot heads and hoarse throats, the fight ended with nothing; they didn't figure a compromise out like they usually would, they just stormed into their rooms, upset and angry. for weeks, their relationship remained cold. it was awkward and tense, it felt suffocating to even be in the house. for both, their house weren't even a house anymore - it seemed more like a prison, confining them in. whenever they saw each other in the house, they just pretended as if the other didn't exist. their relationship only recovered because of yifan and his kindness, again. again, he cornered her, only this time, instead of a confrontation, he apologized. though it might seem odd to others, eunseol accepted it almost immediately, apologizing in return. the urge to apologize had been consumed her, but she just couldn't put her pride down.
Δ phase six & epilogue — by these phases, they were most or less already dating. in the earlier stages of the firs t phase, they weren't officially in a relationship. but their interactions were pretty much like a couple: skin skip eventually came easy to the couple, dates were held as often as fives times a week, and most importantly, eunseol slowly started telling yifan more about herself ( her company's background, her parents' death, her three other failed arranged marriages etc ). within one months' time, the two finally got into an official relationship with yifan doing the proposal. even after their 6 months duration in their shared house, the couple was still close as ever. considering how much time they spent together, despite not living together, their relationship definitely did improve. they say, "distance makes the heart grow fonder", this couldn't have been more accurate.
