( ♥ ) semi-fluent english! as an intern of a trading company, jooyeon needs to know at least one other language besides korean - she figured, english was taught in high school and a language that most countries, now, use. so, why not english. her accent sounds quite funny, but she's able to understand words with a greater depth.

( ♥ ) Warm velvet skin, lips with a soft light on them! with a pair of doe eyes, a long and high nose bridge, cherry tinted lips and blemish free pale skin,  she gives off an air of feminine that is hard to deny. her golden bronze dyed hair frames her face nicely, going a little below her chest area - blessed locks that curl in towards the end, jooyeon need not spend too much time styling her hair on a daily basis. contrary to most girls, jooyeon is one who does not take too long to prepare - her hair alone takes up less than 5 minutes. the girl is commonly seen flaunting her bare face, wearing minimal makeup on a daily basis -  standing at 160cm in height, the girl sports an average height; her weight, on the other hand, comes off as a little bit of a worry to her parents. weighting at 47kg, the girl is only barely at a healthy weight.

( ♥ ) a little extras! one — like most girls out there, jooyeon does have her ears pierced - one on each lobe. her ear holes are never left bare as she's always seen with a pair of silver ear rings that, her peers have come to understand that, it was a gift from jongin. two — jooyeon's skin is mostly free of scars because of the amount of vitamin d she consumes, however, there is a very obvious scar that she sustained as a kid. it is located a little under her knee, she got it as a kid while climbing trees and being a curious little kid.

( ♥ ) fade to black! while her face might give off a very lady like and feminine vibe, fashion wise, it doesn't quite correspond. unlike most girls, jooyeon prefers a less out standing set of color tone in her outfits; jooyeon prefers colors that are more neutral and bland, one that won't call for too much attention on her. if she wants to add a little rainbow to her outfit, the most she'll compromise are pastel shades. to go with her odd preference in colors, jooyeon's closet consists of mainly pants, jeans and button ups. as a grown woman of 22 years of age, jooyeon has come to realise that she was too old for graphic tees and crop tops - she will wear them at home, but never out.

( ♥ ) she who wears the crown! her resting face has never affected the first impression she leaves on other's. wearing that shy and sweet smile of her's, she has always carried an air of tender love and tranquility. first impressions with jooyeon are, more often than not, pleasant. with a straight body posture and head that bows politely to anybody that acknowlegdes her, she flaunts the values that she was raised with. upon first interactions with her, the two traits one would never fail to associate her with are well mannered and feminine. she was brought up in such a way that strongly upholds the values of respect and manners. the more distinct part that comes off as mannerly is probably the amount of respect and flexibility she has. she has a terrible tendency to alter certain things about herself to cater to other's. despite having a shy personality that is rather reluctant on receiving unnecessary attention, the girl has never came off as bashful to others. in a situations whereby she is alone, she will not initiate verbal interactions, just glances of acknowledgement.

( ♥ ) it's okay to give in! jooyeon is your typical asian girl - meek, demure and, most importantly, amiable. some call it submission, some call it obedience, while others call it being a pushover; but she prefers none of the two. rather, she calls it being amiable. to start off, she was born a follower, not a leader. and not just any type of follower, but the worst type yet, the one who follows blindly. so long as you establish your position as an authority head or leader, she will follow your leadership no matter how horrible the plan might sound. to put things in pespective, the girl doesn't have an opinion. or rather, she doesn't voice her opinions out because she's not in any position, she doesn't feel the need to. on a more positive note, jooyeon is easily one of the nicest girls you'll ever meet. she was blessed with a heart as big as the sun and as rich as all the golds in the world. she has a tendency of putting the needs of other's before herself, be it their want, greed, anything. her morale compass just works in this way. to go with that awfully kind personality of her's is an abundance of patience. she has the capacity to endure hardship, difficulty, or inconvenience without a single complaint. she highlights calmness, self-control and the willingness or ability to tolerate the others mistakes.

( ♥ ) use your words! jooyeon shows tendencies of being passive with what she feels. rather than it being an act of coyness to garner more prying and attention, it's more that she often cannot express what she feels with words, it's usually not verbal. if she's happy, she smiles and laughs; if she's sad, she cries. in a way, she's both transparent and opaque. with more simple emotions, such as happiness and sadness, it's easy to express with facial expression, but with more complex emotions ( jealousy, longing etc ), it's not easy. when she uses words, she feels completely bare; to her, it's as if she's revealing everything in a very uncomfortable way, thus she often chooses to ignore it. on the same topic of ignoring, jooyeon is one who escapes from problems. when faced with challenges and obstacles, she chooses to ignore and brush past it. she'll let the issue rot for as long as it can before things get out of hand, only then will she finally do something about it - it's the same cycle all the time, but she can't help but procrastinate with her problems. this can tend to frustrate the people around her as conflicts arise due to this personality of her's. however, if you know her well enough, you would probably also know that confrontation does not work with her as she'll squirm away even more. being quite weak hearted and sensitive, the girl tends to stereotype confrontations into the category of "avoid-because-it'll-turn-ugly". basically, the girl gets affected by other's words very easily. a simple "i don't like you" can and will easily break her apart. that being said, the girl is also easily brought to tears by the most trivial and petty, yet hurtful words.

( ♥ ) what a kid! first impressions often give a misunderstanding that she is mature, however, that is wrong - horribly wrong. to start with a more positive note, the girl is very much child like, has a simple mind set like every other kid in the world. with jooyeon, her analysis of situations and theories are very general, only barely scratches the surface. she is the type to not think too deeply into things. while most think that this gives off an impression of an air head, her friends would disagree. rather than coming off as an air head, she carries an air of innocence and naivety instead. her slow understanding and reactions to things are another thing that gives that sort of innocent and naive vibe. because she's simple minded, she's more often than not, dense, often not able to read situations too well, but enough. moving on to a more negative note, jooyeon does show trend of irresponsible tendencies. as stated, she runs away from situations whereby she finds stressful - that's her coping mechanism. with that said, she will abandon all responsibilities at the current moment. this is one of the rare few times whereby she is seen with a mild sense of selfish disposition. on the same matter of slight selfish tendencies, jooyeon also tends to lie. she doesn't lie for the fun of it, rather she does it to hide the truth. ironically, it takes a lot to get her to tell a lie, even if it's a innocent white lie; as much as possible, she'll try to avoid the topic. only when that does not work will she finally resort to lying. she does it because she knows the truth will hurt, basically a white lie. but there are occasions whereby it's not mainly for the benefit of the other, but for herself.

 

background :

( ♥ ) a little back story! bae jooyeon was born to bae junghoon and lee eunhee, owners of a local cafe, as the middle child, with an older sister four years older than her and a younger sister with a year's age difference. as with the popular belief, her two sisters were more favoured by the family members. her mother had always wanted a son, thus never actually favoured any of the girls; her father has always favoured taeyeon a lot more because of her excellence in academics; and her grandparends naturally took a biased liking for naeun because she was the youngest. however, despite the favourings, jooyeon had always tried to not bother herself with unneccesary thoughts like this.

( ♥ ) and from then! her first few years of education were all held in daegu. following the steps of her older sister, jooyeon was able to get herself a place in yonsei university, one of the most prestigious universities in korea due to an affliation to her older sister. with no passion whatsoever in anything, she amiably gave into her parents' idea of dabbling with something in the finance and business area. and that was how she got into her current major and internship. naturally, the girl also moved out from her home town in daegu as it was not convenient. with just a little bit of the cash her parents gave her and her own income from working as a waitress from before, she was able to get a small, but cozy roof top house just roads away from yonsei university. for the two years before she was offered an internship, she would go around working odd jobs - mainly night shift waitress and bartenders at late night cafes as her classes usually lasted into the night.

 

likes : 

( ♥ ) butts! it can sound a little erted, but jooyeon's reason for liking butts really isn't that erted. she actually likes it because butts look cute. especially butts of babies, they're the cutest.

( ♥ ) cabbage! her absolute favourite food. she eats everything with cabbage- fried rice, salad, burgers, even doeunjang jiggae. she will find a way to shove cabbage into every meal she eats, even if it's eaten raw.

( ♥ ) r&b music! and maybe ballads. of course, she does listen to other genres ( with the exception of rock/screamo ), though she finds the first two genres most soothing and comforting.

 

dislikes :

( ♥ ) peanuts! while most claim that peanut has a rich flavour and after taste to it, jooyeon often agrues that it tastes like absolute crap. in the case peanut butter, depending on brand and type, she might swallow that down - but raw peanuts are a no-no.

( ♥ ) bills, rent! anything that involves jooyeon forking money out from her already broken wallet. with that said, she really scrimps and saves as much as possible, including on her everday meals.

( ♥ ) heights! has an extreme hatred for heights - so much so that she still has to hold onto the railings of staircase to climb up and down the stars properly. with that said, she is not a fan of rollercoasters and bungee jumps etc do not sit well with her.

( ♥ ) sad movies! they make her cry and they also sort of break her delusion of happy endings. she's a grown woman, but the child like part of her still lives in a fairytale world whereby happy endings willl always happen.

 

hobbies :

( ♥ ) COOKING! ironic, because she skips a lot of her meals. but the majority of the meals that she does eat are home cooked by herself. she's the type of cook that doesn't follow a set recipe, rather she follows her own instinct and taste buds. however, her food, despite not having a set recipe, tastes very good.

( ♥ ) ironing! and house chores, in general. she irons clothes a lot, so much that jongin often tells her to just quit studying and her job to work at a laundary mat to iron clothes for others. she claims it leaves a nice after smell and irons all her and jongin's clothes. she also happens to be quite a neat freak, thus in her free time, she will clean the house.

( ♥ ) watching k-dramas! mainly rom-com ( sometimes reality ) ones because they always end well. on a saturday night, she'd spend it on the couch with her snacks fully loaded; she would just sit there until the wee hours just watching tv.

 

habits :

( ♥ ) satoori! she makes a conscious effort to not speak in her daegu accent as it comes off unfeminine and she knows it. however, it tends to often slip as she sometimes forget about it.

( ♥ ) sleeping! she sleeps with socks on as her room can get quite cold in the night due to the lack of efficiency of her heater. in addition, she has two must haves when she's sleeping - a bolster and a stuff toy of a small pig that she has both had since she was a kid. without either, she most probably can't get a good night sleep.

( ♥ ) lying! she can lie and will lie, but there's a small flaw that gives away her lies. her left eye twitches a little and she'll probably look to her sides to avoid eye contact.

( ♥ ) crying! out of habit, when she's crying or closed to tears, she tends to speak faster than usual, her voice might also crack alittle and would avoid all forms of eye contact by looking on the ground.

( ♥ ) shy/bashful! whenever she's feeling shy or anxious ( in the good way ), she'll cower away a little as she tucks her hair away from her face with her notable sweet smile.

( ♥ ) sad/stressed! there's this loop bus that goes from the bus interchange near her university all the way back to the same bus interchange. the bus ride, back and forth, usually takes an hour. whenever she feels stressed and wants to be alone for a while, she'll take the bus.

 

misc trivia :

( ♥ ) kinks, somewhat! when she sees a guy, the first few things she looks at is the guy's hands, arm muscles, jaw and hair. a little weird, but if you have any of the three, she will definitely spazz about you in her head.

( ♥ ) dental care! jooyeon brushes her teeth at least three times a day, usually more if she goes out. on a regular day whereby she spends it at home, she'll brush thrice - once in the morning, one when she's showering mid afternoon or so, and the last time before she sleeps. she brings a travel brushing set, too. so when she goes out, she brushes her teeth too.

( ♥ ) immune system! jooyeon is one who doesn't get sick often, but when she does, her immune system completely breaks down. if she actually falls ill, it'll last for 4-5 days to a little more than a week.

( ♥ ) technology! she uses an iphone 6plus in gold with an otter box phone cover because she tends to drop her phone a lot. her phone wallpaper is a taken polariod photo of jongin and herself. she also has a 13-inch macbook air with a pink cover.

( ♥ ) scent! she has, quoted from jongin, a sweet scent of strawberries and cherry blossoms, with a hint of goat's milk. it's a hybrid scent from her shampoo, body wash and perfume; the combination sounds odd, but the after product is oddly pleasant smelling.

( ♥ ) dance! she was sent to ballet classes as a kid, from there her passion for dance grew and she eventually came to know about modern dance. and while she enjoyed dancing, her parents constantly told her never to think of being a dancer as a career route. 

( ♥ ) soft spot! has a soft spot for animals, more specifically cats and kittens. she would feed the stray cats and kittens that live in her neighbourhood, of course, given that she has the cash on her. if not, she'll just go get some milk from her home and feed it to them.

( ♥ ) profanities! unlike most girls her age, jooyeon tries as much as possible to stray far away from curse words and profanities regardless of language. words like "damn" and "" does occasionally slip from her lips. the latter often slips whenever she's nervous or messes up, it just comes off as a whisper that is barely audible.

( ♥ ) love life! in her whole 22 years of existence, jooyeon has only had one boyfriend - kim jongin. she does have small crushes here and there, but has never actually come to confess to them and date them. she also had one or two admirers who came up to confess, sadly, she saw nothing in them. with that said, her first kiss was when she was 20 years old with jongin.

( ♥ ) skin care! being one who have always preferred skin care products over make up, jooyeon spends a lot of time and money on skin care products ( like lotions, moisturizers, lip balms, toners, sun screens etc ).

( ♥ ) horror! she shares a very weird love-hate relationship with horror related things - movies, stories, haunted houses etc. while she enjoys the suspense and thrill of getting scared, the fear does consume her most of the time. there has been a hand few times whereby she initiated to go into a haunted house at an amusement park only to cry and whine about it afterwards.

( ♥ ) hand writing! her hand writing is what you'll expect from a demure and good natured girl like her: neat and small, but legible enough. refer to sunmi of wonder girls. link!

( ♥ ) morning energizer! as  much as possible, she tries to avoid caffine and it's biggest source of intake, coffee and energy drinks. her first and only experience with it was too efficient. rather, she opts for a more energy sufficient option: tea or detox water with strawberries and citrus fruits.

( ♥ ) hair color! she was born with pitch black locks and was in love with every part of her hair. that was until she hear some juniors talking about how she seemed intimidating and unapproachable because of her dark hair. consulting jongin, who wasn't serious, she decided to dye it blond, but that didn't work out too well. it looked good, she just didn't feel asian (?). a week later, she dyed it a a shade of golden bronze, and is intending to keep it that way. link!

( ♥ ) alcohol & cigs! she cannot drink to save her life - with just one shot of soju and she starts to get tipsy, easily with her second and third shots, she'll be completely outted. with that asid, clubs aren't her usual scene. she doesn't smoke, though has tried just once with jongin's encouragement. she took one puff and she couldn't grasp the pleasure of it.

( ♥ ) special talent! a special talent that she views as unique to herself is her ( quite pathetic ) attempt to impersonate doraemon. she sounds nothing like the original japanese version, but her peers still seem to think it sounds cute. having said that, aegyo is something that comes naturally to her without trying; but when asked, clearly, she's a mess.

( ♥ ) hairstyle! when she's home, she usually has her up in a messy high bun because jongin, for some reason, finds it very attractive and cute. the thing that gets really pissed about tying her hair in a bun is the fact that she has short baby hair that reacts a little less than half her face and it just gets all over her face. she can't tie it back, she can push it behind her ears either.

( ♥ ) usual scene! in her free time, you can usually spot her at the library or at some cafe, or the other. she doesn't quite enjoy staying at home during the day because the window panes are quite cheap and thus does not block out too much light. jooyeon is the type to work better in a place whereby it is darker. on weekends, she'll go there late afternoon and stay until the sun sets, then she'll go home.

( ♥ ) journal! a small secret that no one knows other than taeyeon is that jooyeon writes in a journal ( basically a diary, but she doesn't like that term ) at least four times a day. she only does so when she has the time, or when she feels like she needs to empty something out. though taeyeon knows about the journal, she doesn't pry for more information about it, neither does she try to look for the journal because she knows its private. it is a black moleskin journal, each entry is filled with small doodles and small articles that she deems important. link!

( ♥ ) writing! maybe its because of her confidence in her hand writing, jooyeon has always preferred writing with a pen and paper rather than typing on the computer. she actually sends letters to her family, but they just text her back as a form of reply. though then again, 50 pages on stock markets with graphs and diagrams on pen and paper within three days does seem quite atrocious, doesn't it?

 

relevant people :

( ♥ ) daddy short legs! her relationship with her father can definitely be described as awkward. the two know of this strange tension between them, and their only way to overcome it is by fighting and bickering with one another. they probably can't last over 30 minutes being in the same room together alone as their topic of bickering will eventually come to an end - and then it's an awkward tension again. while he doesn't favour her, he doesn't necessarily dislike her either - perhaps, he's spent too much of his affection on taeyeon, so much that he can't seem to give even a little to jooyeon or naeun. he loves all three of his daughters, there's no doubt in that, he just shows more affection to the olders.

( ♥ ) mother bear! another parent of jooyeon's with a tongue as sharp and poisonous as a snake. ever since jooyeon grew to the age of 12, eunhee has halted full on scolding jooyeon because she knows that the girl knows what's best. and if she doesn't, as a mother, she's done her job - if anything screws up, the problem lies within her daughter. however, eunhee doesn't talk normally to jooyeon either. she's constantly nagging to jooyeon about everything and anything, as a fillial daughter, she can only nod her head in agreement. of all three daughters, she worries most about jooyeon though it never shows - the girl is a pushover amongst all her sisters and is prone to acting impulsively on emotions.

( ♥ ) successful unnie! taeyeon basically played mother to jooyeon, teaching her all the know how's such as what a period is, how to put on a sanitary pad, how to put on make up. no doubt, taeyeon knows jooyeon best in the house; the older also happens to be jooyeon's source of moral support. whenever she's in need of someone to talk to, taeyeon will definitely be there for her. taeyeon knows jooyeon inside out best; she understands the younger girl's worries, insecurities and thoughts even without her need to say much. taeyeon never pries at jooyeon's feelings; though most often than not, jooyeon comes emotionally unravelled. like her mom, taeyeon worries about jooyeon a lot but tends not to show it as she hates it when she is pitied or feels like she's being pitied.

( ♥ ) lovable dongsaeng! being only a year apart, jooyeon and naeun are treated very much like twins. however, the downfall of their relationship is the fact that jooyeon constantly has to give into naeun merely because she's younger. to someone like jooyeon, she doesn't see the wrong in it; but for an outsider of their relationship, it just seems ugly. on the other hand, naeun can't be blamed for it either. she was young and ignorant when she was treated this way, as she grew up, she assumed it as an entitlement. while jooyeon doesn't confide into naeun, naeun seems to enjoy having heart to heart talks with jooyeon even though the older seems pretty shady with her own feelings.

( ♥ ) same age friends! raised in the same hometown, friends since they were in their diapers - it is safe to say that seulgi and jooyeon are friends with a distinctive level and amount of closeness. having lived through their lifes together, the two are practically open books to each other. to jooyeon, seulgi is like taeyeon - a form of moral support who can talk to when she faces issues, but she can trust that seulgi won't act upon foul feelings because she has a similar demure personality to her own. to see seulgi and jooyeon apart from one another is quite a rare sight, though even when apart, they still make sure to message and text each other. not a day goes by without them speaking to each other even if its through a phone call, or a mere message.

( ♥ ) neighbourhood oppa! taemin is, sadly, one of the guys who jooyeon has had a major crush on, yet has never had the chance to confess. she first met him through jongin, and she's had her eyes set on him. she was intending to keep quiet about her slightly superficial feelings for him, but it eventually grew into a crush from pure infatuation. she was intending to confess, but then naeun met taemin and she, too, fell for taemin - even harder, as described by jooyeon. she was then determined to keep her feelings for taemin locked up for naeun; they eventually started dating. jooyeon was lucky it was just a mere crush, a major crush, but still just a crush. taemin, of course, knew about jooyeon's feelings but tries not to bring it up because it will only cause tension. taemin and jooyeon's relationship is now completely platonic, with neither having a crush on neither.

( ♥ ) granny'o gracious! the land lady who owns the rooftop apartment jooyeon currently resides in, also the lady who had offered her a job in her bakery. youngok, contrary to her harsh features, is a loving old grand mother who has done nothing but showered jooyeon with affection and care since the first day jooyeon had met her. youngok acts as the grandparent figure that jooyeon never had - from making her cookies, to cooking for her whenever she falls seriously ill. within a short span of three years, jooyeon has come to love youngok as her grand mother. despite having her own grand children and children ( who don't visit her often ), youngok feels the same way as jooyeon. very much like taeyeon and seulgi, youngok is another pillar of support for jooyeon - the only difference is rather than doing anything, she advices the younger girl on how to overcome challenges.

( ♥ ) possible catalyst! rumours around the vicinities of the office has it that joonmyeon has a crush on jooyeon, or at least, is horribly biased towards the young girl. despite being an intern, joonmyeon rarely gets her to do low intern jobs ( shredding paper, getting coffee ). rather, he treats her like a new member of their work force, teaching her new things. and while the rumours do appear rather convincing, joonmyeon really does not like her in any romantic way; instead, with her, he feels a sense of responsibility of an older brother to a younger sister. however, he has found no reason to clarify the rumours as they aren't true. jooyeon on the other hand, has been completely dense to what people say about them. she merely feels that joonmyeon is a very good in-charge and takes good care of her.
