Drabble 17

We had recently went to the orphanage for the adoption of a boy. His name was Yoogeun and he was absolutely adorable! It has been two months since then, and everyone in our neighborhood has grown to include and love him as we did as his foster parents.

Yoogeun was a good-natured boy; he was kind and polite, and that made him really popular with the ahjummas in the community.

"Come on, little baby, appa will drop you at the childcare on the way to work today." Jinki said, reaching out his hands to pick the boy up.

I remembered that I smiled at the sight, because now we did really look like a happy family - fulfilled and completed.

Yoogeun was 5, so we put him at the pre-school just down the street while we work, then pick him up when we're heading home. He loves to stick and cling onto me when we're hanging out at home. But lately, Jinki seems to be trying to get into his good books, taking him out to eat his favorite foods and buying him the toys he wanted. Usually it takes a lot of coaxing for Yoogeun to be carried by Jinki, yet these days he just goes to him a lot. And wherever the father-son went, they were just swarmed with the ladies young and old.

Take for instance their latest trip at the mall when we brought him to the indoor playground, Jinki was making the effort following him around and making sure he was playing safe.

It didn't take more than ten minutes when all the mothers began drawing close around them, cooing at our adorable son and his very handsome diligent dad. They were surprised and amazed at how well Jinki was raising Yoogeunie, and how he was taking time to play with him.

As I was sitting on my "parents' bench", my hands automatically folded across my chest as I glared at the married women crowding around my husband. They weren't very virtuous when it comes to skinship, showing no ounce of shame in feeling up my Jinki. And it pisses me off that he wasn't brushing them off. A few of the women shifted their glances to me once in a while, to which I would reciprocate with a fake smile. They would smile back, then hand sign a thumbs-up at Jinki, gesturing how good of an appa he is.

"Yoogeunie," I was wiping his forehead of sweat from all that running around, "Taemin appa will bring you to the washroom to freshen up neh?"

I held my hand out for him to hold onto when Jinki carried him up whole, "It's okay Taem, I'll bring him."

He didn't even wait for my reply, just put him up on his shoulders for a piggyback ride and they both headed towards the washroom.

At present, we were holding a mini party for Yoogeun, to introduce him to the rest of our gang. It was kind of a get-together too, like we used to before Yoogeun came in the picture. There used to be alcohol and cigarettes, but not today (and probably not anymore).

When the doorbell rang, Jinki was carrying Yoogeun on one arm to welcome our guests at the door.

The girls were thrilled to meet our little one, cooing at him and pinching his cheeks like it was a greeting. Yoogeun hadn't really liked the attention, but he didn't complain, he just hid his head into Jinki's neck, earning more squealing from them.

Yoona tried to coax him into her arms, to which (rolls eyes) he complied and climbed into her embrace.

"Ah, Jinki oppa, Yoogeunie's such an angel!" She squealed, "He must have learnt it from you."

Her eyes were blinking and sending hearts to Jinki as she rocked our baby in her arms.

"Oppa have you been using Yoogeun to train your arms?" Yoona giggled, comfortably reaching to touch Jinki on his biceps, "It definitely looks bigger now!"

She gave it a squeeze, daring to throw a sneer at me as she continued to flirt with my husband.

Alright, that's it. Enough of Jinki-appa-time, it's Taemin-appa-time.

I half-stomped over in my fluffy house slippers and ripped a pouting Yoogeun off of her. Yoona naturally was taken aback by the sudden force, but I swore she so did it on purpose when she fell back onto Jinki.

I shot her a glare before stomping back into Yoogeunie's bedroom, excusing us with a "He's tired." I didn't forget to slam the door to indicate my displeasure, then proceeded to tuck our baby in his double-deckered bed.

I stood by the bed frame, patting him to sleep. In less than two minutes since I came in, Jinki stomped in too, though closing the door softly as he came through.

"Tae, what the hell was that for?" He spoke quietly, yet in a harsh tone, "I didn't think you could be so rude!"

My hands only folded over my chest and I turned to look at him straight in his eyes, "I just can't stand looking at that."

"Looking at what exactly?"

"Yoona! She was freaking flirting with you; she was seducing you openly, touching you shamelessly, then pretends as if she adores Yoogeun." I spat, "I don't even know why she's still in our group. I hate her!"

If Jinki was upset with me before, then his mood must've taken a 180 degrees turn. His frown flipped into a smirk, and his eyes softened "You're jealous."

He teased, poking at my puffed up cheeks.

"So what if I am?" I admitted, then turned my attention back to our son, hiding my embarrassment.

Jinki took a step and wrapped me in his arms from behind, snuggling into my neck.

He softly whispered in my right ear, "Ah arasso my queen, I'll keep my distance from her and glue myself to you every time we hang out. Or maybe...I could glue myself to you all the time!"

That made me smile and giggle, the warmth coming to be too comfortable. I turned around to face him, giving us some distance (after all, Yoogeun was watching!).

"Act-actually, it's not just t-that."

Jinki cocked his eyebrows, wondering what in the world was my problem(s).

"I-I don't like it how...how women flock to you when you're with Yoogeunie. You become extra attractive as a dad with a happy son. T-they just don't h-hesitate to l-look at and t-touch you!"

I look down at my feet sweeping the floor as I continued, "I know it's n-not your fault...but it is when you're giving so much of your attention to Yoogeunie, we're spending less time together..."

"Taemin?" He made me look up at him, "The women I understand. But don't tell me...you're jealous of our son?"

Jinki got his answer when I kept silent. He chuckled and pinched my nose, "You silly idiot."

"You're one to talk!" He put his hands on his hips, pretending to be angry but his eye-smile gave him away, "Do you even realize how Yoogeun clings to you? And when you're with him, you forget all about me!"

I stared at him, trying to recall such incidents when he carried on, "I had to distract him somehow! You know me; I'm not too good with kids, even with our own son, but I w-want you b-back so b-bad."

Jinki stammered at the last part, his eyes shifting like mine did before. It was then I could sigh out in relief, that he missed me like I missed him. We've been occupying ourselves with Yoogeun to fit him in, forgetting to care about our significant other.

I'm really a silly idiot for getting mad like this.

"Yoogeun-ah, Yoona noona bought this set of power rangers figurines for you. Thank her the next time we meet, arasso?" Jinki handed the boy a bag he brought in.

We saw how Yoogeun took over the bag, yet his face completely unfazed, "I don't like her."

It was an honest innocent comment, and one that I should chide him for, but I felt I could let him go for this one. Jinki looked at me as I muffled my laughter in my hands.

"Yoogeun doesn't want another umma to take care of me. I love Taemin-appa the most in the whole wide world!!" He did a heart-shape with his short arms before jumping to hug me tight.

"Yah yah! I thought you were tired and sleepy. Now go to bed!" Jinki appa instructed and carefully split us apart, putting him back on the bed in his 'rightful place' (as Jinki calls it).

He claimed me possessively by circling his palm on my hip (his 'rightful place'), ushering us back out to entertain while our son sleeps for the night.

In my mind, my heart melted endlessly and that had me thinking, "Ah, this is how happiness looks and feels like."

Hehe <3 reminds of cutiepie Yoogeunie? Ah, sorry for the overused name already :p
