Drabble 16

"Hyung, you want a drink?" Taemin asked kindly, getting up from bed when they woke up.

Jinki nodded and silently thanked his lover for the gesture. He stretched a little, before pulling the curtains open and then heading to the toilet for a quick refreshing shower.

Just as he realized he forgot to bring a new set of clothes in, Taemin knocked on the door with exactly what he needed. He had wanted to call for Taemin, but it seems the younger had already read his mind.

He came out clean and fresh, took the cold glass of water from the table top that Taemin had prepared for him.

Kibum called for breakfast and he quickly headed out to the dining room. Jinki took his seat beside Taemin and picked his cutlery ready to dig in.

When he looked up at the table, Taemin had reached for the pepper for him, "Here you go, hyung."

That surprised Jinki entirely; he hadn't even said anything. Not like he could say much though, not after the minor surgery he had two months ago. He had another two weeks till he could sing and talk properly like he used to, but until then, he could only hum and haw in response to everything. Jinki was getting better, and when the manager isn't around, he let himself reply with one-word answers or short phrases.

The members ate their breakfast at a leisure pace, enjoying their little break since Everybody era, the good food and good company. They sometimes made small talks about their day plans, but Taemin never forgets to include Jinki in their conversations or activities. It made the leader feel loved and taken care of, even in this moment where he occasionally felt like a burden because of all the health restrictions their manager put on him.

After washing his own set of dishes himself, Jinki turned around to put them in the cabinets. Because they rarely eat at home, Jinki was quite ashamed that he didn't even know where they kept their plates.

"Over here, hyung!" Taemin called with a gentle smile, "Key hyung's going to be angry if you put them in the wrong places."

Taemin said it so casually, it made the elder feel less guilty for being so clumsy in the house.

It happened throughout the day; Taemin always knew what Jinki wanted to say, as if Jinki was sending brain waves to the maknae, what amazed the members most.

Night came and Jinki could no longer take it lying down. He took a pen and paper by the nightstand (that Taemin left for him) and wrote a simple "How do you always know?"

He heard the toilet flush and Taemin popped out with wet hair and a towel cleaning the insides of his ears.

"Hmm? Of course I do hyung!" He chuckled, "I'm with you 24/7. I'm like a leech."

Taemin chuckled before continuing, "I'll be your hands and legs for as long as you need. I'm going to stick to you for so long, you'll never be able to get rid of me!"

The younger grinned with his straight set of pearly whites, his eyes imitating his boyfriend's.

"And I mean it! Even when we've grown old and tired, you'll take care of me too, right?"

Jinki wrote with a smile, "Until the end of me."

With that, he took the towel off Taemin's hands and began drying his hair to prepare for sleep. That was the least he could do for Taemin to show his appreciation and affections. This night, he only fell deeper in love with this caring lovable maknae.
