ING CLOSED MINDED PARENTS???

So... Yeah, I just you know. Slightly ing pissed off at my parents. Mostly my mum. The reason is? That my childhood friend who was born a female now identifies herself as a male. So let me get to the start of the story.

This childhood friend of mine, I grew up with since I was a little kid and I've known him for many years. We both stopped contacting each other probably for 8 years when I moved to England and he moved to Scotland. We then got back into contact with each other approx. 2-3 years ago and surprisingly enough we had the same interests. We both are interested in the goth/emo fashion etc. we both loved J-Rock and K-Pop. Maybe a year later we stopped contacting each other, not too sure why, but he deleted his facebook account. (At that time he was still identifying himself as a girl)

Earlier today my mum asked me if I was still friends with 'M' and I replied that I haven't contacted him since he deleted deleted his facebook account. My mum said that M has a new account now, but apparently M is really strange. I didn't understand what she meant so I looked up M's new account and found it. A lot has changed since we last contacted. Still an emo, a lot more hard core emo though. M's account said 'male' and on his photo he commented saying that he was a boy. His profile also said his other name was Arin.

So in respect of that comment I saw, I start asking about M towards my mum using male personifications. My mum got all hissy and annoyed at me for using male personifactions. She said that M was just being strange and has watched too many 'silly' Japanese films. That comment really pissed me off and knows what pissed me off even more? Was that she told me not to get any 'strange' ideas. Which hurts me cause I identify my uality as panual, but I have never told anyone in my family about it cause I know how close minded they are. The only people who know about my uality is my close friends and you guys.

So, I've texted M, but I have not yet recieved a reply. I found out that he's currently on holiday in Berlin, so hopefully we'll be back in contact soon.

But, yeah I'm just annoyed at my mum at the moment and I'm holding a grudge against her.

Wow, that's really awesome that he is just rocking him.
I go to school where there are a lot of bi, gay, trans, cisgender, nongendered, pan, and a whole lot more that I'm not to sure of the names, so it is always awesome to come across people who are super open minded on the internet as well.
Sorry that your mum is like that and not very open minded. But there will be those types of people out there, sad to say. I really do just think that you and your friend just do you guys, and yes, it would be nice if people were more open minded but you win some and you lose some. I hope that you have the courage one day to come out to your parents, regardless of what you think their reaction might be, and maybe they will surprise you.
Best of luck to you and your friend~! Fighting!

Honestly I'm glad your friend is proud/confident enough(there is nothing wrong with it) to say that he identifies himself as a male. I wish him a happy life.
I also want to say you are A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!!!!

I'm sure he will be happy to know, that you are so accepting.
Just like you i have difficulties concerning my uality and even my gender doesn't fit my mental image of myself.
I'm glad he can live his own life the way he is and that you are so open about things like these
you gave me hope
