ANTI-FANS

Wow, maybe I'm naive, but I really had no idea just how messed up anti-fans are! And how many there are!

I've been doing all this research on them for my new fic, Wearing Her Face (about an anti-fan and plastic surgery and cosmic justice...) and seriously realizing that I don't know nearly as much as I thought I did. Like, my fic centers on an anti-fan of Taeyeon's (based on all the hate she got last year because of dating Baekhyun), and I just learned about Taeyeon trying to take some action against her antis (the ones that are actually sending her and her family death threats)... and then I learned that SNSD actually has a hate group (STAND: Stay Till All Nine Disappear)! This group is on Facebook and other places and they just follow SNSD, bashing every move they make with some seriously hateful comments. (Thanks to Knight_09 for providing me with this info!)

So, first of all, I had no idea that Taeyeon is still getting hate a year later. And then to find out about this group! Now I'm wondering, since every k-pop group has a fandom, do they also each have an anti-fandom? Like, is there an EXO hate club? Or a Big Bang hate club? I feel so ignorant and can't believe that I didn't know about all this before. Like, I always knew there were anti-fans, but I didn't realize they were organized like fan clubs and just... like... everywhere...

I had always planned on working hard on this fic because I entered it into a writing contest, but I think I'm going to work extra hard now to really make it particularly relevant and meaningful. Like, my OC/anti-fan thinks she's getting cosmic justice for what she's about to do to Taeyeon, but I think I'm going to show this anti-fan what it's like to be the recepient of hate and turn that cosmic justice back on her. Haha this probably doesn't make sense to you if you're not one of my readers... (and even if you are one of my readers it might not make sense because I'm speaking to events I haven't written yet hahahah), but I'm more just thinking aloud here.

Anyway, if anyone can shed more light on the anti-fan community, definitely comment with your thoughts. I'm really curious, not only to help me with my fic, but just in general. It amazes me how people can have so much hate for people they don't even know personally. I really just don't get it.

Like other people have said, hate groups are everywhere but girl groups usually have bigger hate groups and it really strikes me why. I knew about STAND, this group goes wayyy back even when Girls'Generation were a lot younger and new to the industry.

There's hate groups like this everywhere. They just tend to be small enough that you have to be looking to find them.

I've known about hate groups for a while, and I also knew that some of them could be very extreme, to put it politely. At first, I was passionately against these hate groups, but then I realized that, because everyone is human, everyone has the right to judge whoever they want however they want. I'm not saying some of the anti-fans' hateful comments or bashes aren't wrong. No one likes to be hated. But I learned there will be people that will just...be haters, and I learned that while haters will always hate, the ones that love you are the ones that really matter.

Wow... I've been a fan since the beginning and I had no idea about STAND.. I kinda feel so stupid now, I knew about the black ocean, but never about this

I've been a fan of SNSD for years and when I first got into them, I found out about STAND. This was back when STAND had an actual website. It was all filled with them hating them for being "plastic" and even hating them for crying about their moms. And don't forget about the infamous black ocean. Kpop groups receive some of the most viscous hate for small things, especially girl groups.

Well,most haters and sasaeng fans are from Korea itself...Maybe because they're just jealous or something like that,once I have checked on Jong Kook's news when he ripped one of Exo members,it said that lots of fans bashed Jong Kook and Jae Suk as well,I was like "Come on,it's just a mission!Why you're so obsessed to bash everyone who had hurted your bias?Get real!" This one for sasaeng fans,and usually anti fans are tried to make war or something like that...Ah,those people...

there are a lot of pathetic people out there. haters abound tsk. yg has a lot of haters antis . i dont doubt thered be same for other groups

There are tons of videos of Anti-SNSD on youtube and I watched some long time ago, and I don't even understand how the littlest thing can be something that can build hatred that is as big as all planets combined. It's normal to have someone that you dislike, but to hate every single thing he/she does? It's really weird, and not normal.

Sadly, anti-fans and haters do exist, and some even to a larger degree of incomprehension. A lot of people like that are married to the idea of drama and obsession and have to complain about something, anything, to make themselves feel superior. It's an inferiority complex. No way am I supporting them or defending them. They are just in love with hate. And sadly, you can't think logically of something that is illogical and irrational like anti-fans and haters.

But when you think about it, people making hate groups have existed for a long time (i.e. KKK, Neo Nazis, etc...) It's a way of life to make themselves feel superior because they have problems. So they take it out on everyone else.

I am definitely interested in reading your story. Justice is my middle name ^^ haha

By the way, South Korea here is freaking hot right now. My workplace has turned off the air conditioner, and it feels like I'm baking in an oven...

I was also shocked when I found out about STAND, you can obviously see they have no life. The fact that they spend time creating a group and just spending their days hating, I don't understand, there's more in life than just sitting behind a screen and just hate. Tablo also has an anti-fan club and they're the worst. They're called TaJinYo which is also known as "We Demand The Truth From Tablo". These anti-fans were hating on Tablo because they don't believe the fact that he graduated from Stanford at such short time. They sent death threats to his family, wife even his daughter!! To the point that they ruined Tablo's reputation, career, putting him on hiatus and making him have suicidal thoughts. These antis I swear, I just don't understand!! If they dislike the idols then just ignore, how hard can it be. It's so stupid how they follow their every move, that's not what you do when you hate someone, you pretend they don't exist!! That's what you do. I'll never understand how they think, all I say about them is that they're jealous and butthurt. No excuses, they should do something better with their lives. Because of them no idol can live their life peacefully. This just reminds me of so many idols, especially Bom!! Where is she I miss her and 2ne1, I hope they could at least comeback this year :( Especially with all the groups coming out, the end of year awards would be amazing. Honestly, I have so much more to say but I need to sleep for school HAHAH Nice to know you're putting a lot of effort in your fic, thank you!!

I think you are not the only one who are shocked about it..I know there are so many haters, but an organized anti-fan clubs?...Wow!~ As a Blackjack, I think that scenario happens to our Bom unnie last year :((( she got so much hate about that drug scandal...she got hate even though the evidence says that she's innocent..the court already dismissed the case and those haters/bashers still says she's should be in jail :((( heol!~ I really miss Bom unnie!~ I really hate that they take away Bom unnie and Blackjacks's smile and happiness!!~ I really hate them!~ I hate Anti-fans!!! ugh!

Maybe that's just how they find their own happiness? XD their life is so complicated to understand..
