Great news! Luhan will be appearing in a movie about the Great Wall of China called The Great Wall that is set to air in 2016.

He will be co-stars with some of the most famous actors. I can recognize Matt Damon, Andy Lau, Eddie Peng. I don't know what the story is exactly but I might check it out if the plot interests me. If it has the same appeal as The Mummy types of movies, I might go watch it even if Luhan only has a small part.

I actually did recently watch this movie.  I was a bit disappointed because the acting seems a little been wooden? from the Asian actors.  I have to say the acting does get a bit better from the main female lead.  Luhan's part is not that small but it's not that big either.  He underwent growth from being a scardey cat to being someone who has the courage to sacrifice for what he believe to be the greater good.

But what I don't like about the story is there's nothing really "Chinese" about the story, like the soldiers had colourful armours and their fight techniques are strange (the acrobatic one for sure doesn't look anything like in the Chinese martial arts movies).  The enemy is something from fantasy, not that different from "aliens".  I am not really feeling the "heart touching moments" because the emotions of "family and trust" are not portrayed well.  It feels more like an "action" movie with not very much substance.  And the acting....only Matt Damon seems to carry the movie in the beginning.

I watched the live action of full metal alchemist around the same time...and I have to say I felt more emotions out of full mental alchemest then out of this film.  It was much more engaging.  At least the enemies also had character too and not some aliens that just attack and that's it.
