meet all-rounded, supposedly perfect 'wonder girl' ahn seyeon, president of yusang high school's student council. with a smile always plastered on her face and friends surrounding her every step of the way, one would wonder how such a girl's existance is possible in an imperfect world like this. every girl in yusang high strives to be like her and she's basically in zero teacher's bad books -- after all, she gets an A in practically every single piece of homework ( which she always completes on time, if not earlier ). seyeon's always striving for perfection, and it doesn't help that her father's always urging her to read motivational stories and self-help books. she's always trying to improve herself and she hates it when her flaws are exposed ( who does, really? ). her motto as the student council president is 'don't wait for people to be friendly - show them how', which is why she's always standing in the hallway greeting people and reminding people to get to class on time as she waves and fills the bustling hallway with bright 'good morning!'s. seyeon's one dedicated student, and extremely hardworking in whatever she does - the events organized by the student council always run smoothly thanks to her, and her record is basically sqeaky clean, with nothing but praises sung for her. she tries to be as self-disciplined as possible ( which doesn't work out all the time - i mean, that new episode of the return of superman was just calling for me-- ) and all in all she's a passionate person who works hard in whatever it is she does. she never lets praises get to her head and always remembers to stay humble and down-to-earth, although sometimes she gets dismayed by the fact that people think she's just 'average' and not higher than that. in this way she's always too harsh on herself, and if she doesn't achieve perfection she thinks she'll go mad when in reality, everyone around her can see that it's the other way round - she'll go mad on the hunt for perfection. she has minor ocd and cannot bear for things to go wrong or for things to be out of place, and she can't ever do something wrong or she'll dwell on it and feel terrible because of it for days. although she tries her best not to show it, no matter how confident she seems on the outside, the girl's pretty doubtful of herself - and everyone around her as well. she's doubtful of whether she can really make it outside of yusang high school, she's doubtful of whether people really like and respect her or whether they're just following her for the sake of not being reported to the teacher. she's doubtful of whether she's really a good person or she's just deluding herself into thinking that she's a good person and so on so forth. she's doubtful of the people around her being good enough to match up to her, she's doubtful of whether the people around her can ever understand her and so on so forth. because of this thinking, most of the time her work is best done alone, where no one will get freaked out by her constant reading through and checking every five minutes. this doesn't mean she doesn't work well with others, though - after all, the student council is a team, she just happens to be leading them most of the time. at least that's what she tells herself. unknownst to seyeon, she can be rather pushy or bossy when it comes to projects, and because she's always striving for that perfect ending result, the people around her can be overwhelved and end up giving up halfway and letting her do all the work in the end. seyeon's a softie, and although the teachers always tell her that she shouldn't let people off too easily, with a bit of a pout and a lousy- excuse she'll let you off for being late instead of marking your name and more. she's really easy to lie and trick to as well, because she trusts everyone so easily, not realizing that the theory of 'if i trust everyone, they'll all trust me too' doesn't really apply in this world. however, when she does find out that she's been had, that's when all hell breaks out. seyeon's a very sensitive person, and after she finds out she's been lied to she'll probably shut everyone out for days, even if the issue is really small and all her friends will come for you. despite being a great person to confide to ( about your sins, lmao ) when you're feeling down or lonely, seyeon herself doesn't really trust anyone to understand her - that's the only thing she doesn't trust anyone with. anything else, if you told her that your brother was barack obama she'd probably believe you. yeah, seyeon can be a little dense sometimes.

ahn seyeon was born to ahn kijae and seo minkyung on the 17th of september, the oldest of four children and the only daughter in the family. being the oldest seyeon always felt like she was supposed to support her younger siblings and be one of the pillars of the family to lean on besides her parents, who were at work most of the time. with that in mind, seyeon led her life with a clear but at the same time not clear goal - to make her parents proud of her and be someone that the world respects and looks up to. you could say seyeon matured pretty quicky, often stepping up and taking responsibility while the other kids hid behind her and faced constant dilemmas on whether to own up that they were the one that stole the gummy bears on seyeon's table. her life hasn't had anything particularly interesting so far, besides being yusang high's star student. her parents weren't the most well-off, and at the same time they weren't exactly living in poverty either, so seyeon never really had to worry about financial issues either. if you ask what seyeon's #1 fear is, she would answer 'uh.. i'm scared of heights?' but on the inside what she's really the most afraid of is oblivion. she's afraid that she'll be forgotten, never thought about and that no one will ever recognize her - which is why, as fake as it sounds, seyeon's really, genuinely trying to make her mark on this world and touch the hearts of everyone around her.

↷ seyeon took gymnastics lessons as a kid, and although she's not taking them anymore, she's still as flexible as she was in the past, easily reaching down to contort into some weird- position with her signature 100 watt smile playing on the sides of her lips and freaking everyone around her at the same time.
↷ seyeon blushes really easily - and also happens to really at hiding her emotions. she's like an animated character from a cartoon, really. when she's mad the tips of her ears go red, when she's happy she's always bouncing with energy, when she's flustered she bites her lip and frowns a lot.
↷ seyeon wears glasses. [ cues gasp from crowd ] she's literally blind without them, but being the girl she is, seyeon's been wearing contacts for most of her life - except for maybe the first few years of elementary school.
↷ seyeon's a whole different person when asleep - one of the reasons why she's always trying to get her own room. she drools a lot and sometimes she mumbles things in her sleep ( eg 'i really want to eat beef today....' or 'ms lee has really bad breath..... sorry ms lee.....' ). have i also mentioned how she sleeps in winnie the pooh onesies?
↷ seyeon's always wanted to go vegetarian, but never had the will to go out with friends and be the only one eating a salad while everyone around her tucks into beef.
↷ she's a er for kdramas, and believes in true love. if you knock on her room door at sunday 3pm she'll probably be on her bed sniffing into a box of tissue and get out between chokes 'they.. .. . . they killed song joongki.. . . . how could they do that to him? how cruel... . ..'
↷ seyeon's an avid collector of disney's tsum tsums, and there's literally always at least one with her wherever she goes. she has tsum tsum earrings, a tsum tsum phonecase, a keychain hanging on her bag and one whole row on her bag. some say she's obssessed, but she prefers the term 'extremely affectionate'.
↷ although she always reminds everyone around her to pay attention during class and etc, she herself tends to zone out a lot and when she has nothing better to do in mr kim's geography lesson of hell she draws on her hand - which is why after every geography class she has doodles of winnie the pooh all over her hand.
↷ surprisingly, unlike the other people in her cohort, seyeon's not a big fan of the internet - she barely knows how sns works, really. she doesn't keep up with kpop ( more of kdramas tbh ) and never knows about the latest trends unless someone talks to her about it.

↷ has a big sweet tooth and can't go a day without a can of peach tea and at the bare minimum three sweets. it's a wonder how she hasn't gotten diabetes yet, really.

↷ she's pretty big on skinship, but doesn't really notice it at the same time. most of the time she links hands with people without even realizing and she usually doesn't think much if you ruffle her hair or sling your hand around her shoulder. this works both good and bad - because if you're trying to hint to her that you're gonna have a hard time unless she's conscious of it -- that's when every touch feels like a spark of fire to her.
↷ she writes poetry!!!!!!!!lmao she usually writes inspirational and pure deep poems about life and uploads them onto her blog online, which no one knows about. her pen name online is 'tokki / 토끼' because of her rabbit teeth and she posts mainly poems, although when she's mad she usually resorts to venting on her blog - hence the blog post on 2nd april, reading 'how can people be so stupid??? ? i don't understand wtf haven't i been clear enough? istg if someone does something wrong again i'm going to flip and do everything by myself!!!!!!! [ insert 4358909 emojis here ]' which astounds readers because the usually literate and calm tokki is..... not being literate.

life as a student in yusang –
being the role model of practically every student of yusang high has both its perks and down factors. while getting a one-way ticket into every teacher's good books, seyeon struggles to keep up with the standards of everyone as she feeds herself off with 'you never fail to exceed my expectations, seyeon!' and 'seyeon, you're a miracle worker, honestly'. she's the type of person who'd call you at 10pm to remind you to sleep and yet not sleep until 1am when she's finally done with the pile of student council crap. seyeon's worked to the core, really, with volleyball matches and practices up to 6pm everyday and student council duty every morning -- not to mention the weekly meetings in hell with mr kim who has really bad breath. however, she never shows this and always keeps a bright ( and sometimes, fake ) smile on her face. 'never give up, guys!', as seyeon's motto says and yusang high's #1 cheerleader would yell. her grades are never below an A- ( even geography, math, and terrible science ) thanks to the long hours she puts in at the library and even along the way home in the bus. seyeon has a remarkable sense of time management, being able to juggle student council ( president!!! ) duties, volleyball ( team captain!!!! ) practices and her own grades ( never below A-!!!!! ). it's a wonder how she's not in the hospital or dead from exhaustion yet, honestly.

↷ uh. . . . . i don't really know-- i don't really remember signing up for something, i was just helping one of my ( favourite ) juniors seulgi with something before lunch and for some reason suddenly these people started gathering around us and. . . . . . i don't know, that's basically how i got to know them, anyway. i think.
are you street-smart? how do you usually get around somewhere unfamiliar to you?
↷ i don't know. . i try to be but i at geography and reading maps in general so i always get lost-- but i usually just go up to strangers and ask for directions. that's what everyone does, right?

prologue; 2nd january, 2015 – first meeting.
seyeon was doing late duty ( aka standing in the hallway ticking off latecomers' names lol idk if they have this in korea probably not but they have it here some i'm just gonna... . . yeah ) and wonwoo and mingyu slid up to her ( mainly just mingyu though wonwoo doesn't slide ) to record their names. while seyeon was talking to wonwoo and ticking his name mingyu was standing behind him silently thinking to himself 'so wonder girl is as pretty as everyone said she was in real life.. . . .' and when it was his turn the first thing he said was. . a pick-up line. surprise, surprise. that didn't seem to faze seyeon though, considering how she had no reaction ( or was it that she just didn't realize that he was flirting???? ). afterwards, when mingyu and wonwoo were walking to class mingyu couldn't stop talking about her to wonwoo ( who wasn't really listening tbh i mean - besides the occasional grunt and 'uhuh' ). prologue pt 2; 2nd january, 2015 – "this must be fate!!!!!"
it was during lunch when the whole clique ( excluding seyeon since she hadn't been a part of the clique then ) had gathered for the most important ritual of the day.... . . eating and mingyu had announced with some sort of determined expression on his face that 'guys, i think i'm going to have to marry ahn seyeon. her surname is ahn, right? yeah - i think so. do you know her instagra-'. there were mainly three different reactions to this sudden confession - one being bursting into nonstop laughter and saying between chokes 'you're.. . . you're kidding me, right?', another being 'haha. i've always known you were an ambitious guy but mingyu. . . . . think again, kid. haha.' and the last just being a gape because the guy who has the reputation of being yusang high's recordholder of having the lowest gpa's trying to go after the top student?????? ? ? haha next joke pls. it was then that a quiet seulgi spoke up, perking up jisoo who had been sitting besides her staring at mingyu trying to figure out if he was trying to pull some sort of prank or not. "uh.... . . i know seyeon unnie.. . .. she's from my middle school and she's always trying to get me to join student council.. .. . "
"great! that means i'm gonna join student council!" the whole cafeteria turned to stare at the obviously delusional boy as he went on rambling with an overexcited expression on his face. five days later, mingyu walked back sadly with a letter in his hand reading 'sorry, your application has been rejected'. "i really don't understand why i was rejected? i mean.. . . i didn't really say anything wrong in the interview right.... . besides how the last time i passed a test was two years ago.. ."

the second time mingyu finally got a chance to talk to the seemingly impossible to reach head of the student body seyeon was again, just before the sacred time of the day ( lunch ) again. seulgi ( who mingyu had just officially appointed official wingman?? winggirl?? in his head ) was asking seyeon about her homework or something idk when the clique had approached seulgi asking her to join them for lunch. mingyu, seeing his chance then
interactions – seyeon honestly doesn't think of mingyu as anything more than a junior who she occasionally hangs out with after school and shares texts with along with the other 30958029 people, but the usual 'good morning! :-)' she sends to everyone makes him think otherwise. people honestly can't picture the two of them together and even the clique themselves think that seyeon's just way out of mingyu's league and he should just date wonwoo. to get a sense of their relationship right now, here's a log of their messages:

↷ mingyu getting jealous of wonwoo's relationship with seyeon because seyeon's honestly more comfortable around wonwoo and it just so happens that wonwoo plays volleyball rly well!!! also maybe seyeon picks wonwoo as her partner for a game or something idk
↷ the group go to an amusement park or something and seyeon sees a huge tsum tsum and she literally flips but no matter how many times she tries she can't win it and mingyu swoops it to the rescue.
↷ the clique go cycling and surprisingly seyeon can't cycle so mingyu takes the oppurtunity to volunteer being her chaffeur of the day
