Rap Mon..... why? {rant}

I saw on Twitter right before the storm hit that Rap Monster said something during an English interview that upset fans. Although the fans laughed, you could tell they were uncomfortable with what he said.

https://instagram.com/p/5FgZt7sQUs/

He said that he "Couldn't find V or Jhope because they were too black".

For someone who is heavily into rap and spent time with ing Coolio and Warren G, you would think that he would be freaking cautious about what he says. Not only did he make a fool out of himself, but that type of low key ignorance is what is gonna affect BTS as a whole from performing in the US with that colorist remark.

Does he deserve death threats because of it? No. Does he someone to educate him about what he did was wrong? Yes.

I honestly hope no one pulls any while they are in the US for their TBR tour because I would hate it if they decided not to come back to America for a long time.

I do want to know is... Will we get an apology out of him? Unlikely.

I've noticed certain trends that idols do. They make a mistake and once the Knetz complain, they make an apology, but if us Inetz complain but the Knetz dont, they don't apologize.

And the way they treat international fans is starting to irritate me. We never get apologizes when we are offended but if an idol offends Korean fans apologizes are immediately given. Like, you're fine with taking our money and performing for us but god forbid you offend your fans that arent Korean. You cant be an international star and don't consider your fans that come in different shapes, sizes, and skin tones.

Now the fans that are darker in skin tone are gonna be hurt when they see him because "Why should I take a picture with him since he can't see me?". Idols need to think a bit more about what they say before they speak.

I'm sure they would be offended if someone said "Hey, are you sleeping? Open your eyes!" when we all know they are open. It's the same thing.

But I shouldn't solely take it out on just Rap Mon since he isn't the only one who has made remarks like that because Chanyeol and Baekhyun make comments like that towards Kai. Same with members of Sistar towards Hyorin.

This type of topic should be taught in the companies and I think the person to teach them should be freaking Tasha/ Yoon Mirae~

Can we sign a petition and get freaking Yoon Mirae to educate these idols please? :/

Anyways, did you guys hear about previously to my post? What do you think about it?

I have listened to some youtubers that are teaching in Korea and the fact is that in Korea people still thinks that being tanned is vulgar. So it was not a malicious comment but yes, you are right, he should have think about it before saying something similar... but a death threat... no... It means that the person that sent that comment was more racist than his comment (Let's say it, it was racist, genuine racism but it was)

I have a huge respect towards BTS above other groups but this hurts a lot. Like excuse me, is it not enough that we have to deal with bulls going on in our country, we don't need someone we respect and love to say stuff like that. I am always nervious that one day someone from BTS is gonna say something like this but I never thought it would Be RM because he seems to be more aware of international fans but now... no, just no okay. I can't stand when Idol group make fun of their member who is a bit tanned than their fair pale complextion but really, they need to take it into consideration that majority of their fans are not pale like them.

I am a huge ARMY fan and this made me almost quit on bts. I have notice that they cuss and and I have heard Namjoon say the 'N' word. But I don't think it's right. Many causes made me dislike bts and it was cause Namjoon. And he even said dat in front of fans made it even more worse. And the fact that there are other races made him even more low. I am not going to lie dat I used dat word before but it was for an important reason. I even know myself dat kpop bands would only apologize to the 'Korean' fans which makes Korea low. I feel like they don't care about the fans that are not Korean cause they know that there are fans everywhere. I SAY LOW, LOW, LOW!

He's such a fool and it's so disappointing because it's so clear that K-Pop idols are still ignorant and uneducated and treat race like it's a joke.

Another thing that upsets me is the whole "ideal" thing, I have yet to hear an idol say they like or just find some girls of different/ darker skin tone pretty, and when I say darker, I mean brown, not their standards of dark >.< (I know there's been a few but not a whole lot) They all seem to have an ideal who's either asian of white, and I'm not being racist or anything but I'm kind of getting tired of idols mostly going for white westerns or Europeans, it's kind of a typical thing and it's also a bit upsetting for people of darker skin tone because it makes us seem like idols or really just Koreans in general don't find us attractive or pretty because of the whole "fair skin" thing. My self esteem honestly lowers with things like that. I always see a lot of White/Asian couples but not a lot of Black/Asian couples *le sigh* ...OMG I went on a tangent completely...ANYWAY, BACK ON TOPIC. I think when Idols upset Ifans by doing or saying something offense, the should apologize, or at least acknowledge what they said or did was wrong. International fans are just as important as Korean fans, if not more because we bring in a lot of the international profit. Idols should be educated on what they should and shouldn't say regarding someone's race or skin tone because that's not something to joke about. But Korea is still growing and maybe over the years, they will learn.

But for now--

Let Tasha be the teacher XD

I didn't hear about it until I read your post and..tbh...It is a bit offending, for some one who is of mixed race ( Mom is white and Dad is African American/ Hispanic/ Native American.. a lot, I know XD lol) and of a darker skin ton, I get offended by a lot of things that idols say or do regarding race or just the skin tone of others. I don't fully blame the idols because they say things out of ignorance and not exactly hate (though I still thing Rap mon would know better) but it's mostly a society problem. They have bad images of Black/ African americans or just people of darker skin tone which really needs to be fixed. It's sad that I see idols still do "Black Face" and make somewhat racist remarks because they don't know any better..or they do and just don't care.

People aren't going to hate BTS, they're just going to dislike him. It's at the point that quite a few fans are OT6 and who's that other guy to be honest. And do you really see any of the other members doing that? Probably not because time and time again, it's been him that has made comments like that before. Not saying the others are saints, but it seems like they're either more aware of that type of stuff or just not the type of people that would say things like that.
