40 Questions for fanfic writers (stolen from fefedove/tagging 2kinalo & mirandaskpop & infinfic)

Describe your comfort zone—a “typical you” fic.

Historical, action pack along with constant plot twists~!

Is there a trope you’ve yet to try your hand at, but really want to?

I try my best with angst but I need to improve on that first before trying anything else, honestly.

Is there a trope you wouldn’t touch with a ten-foot pole?

Uh probably hard /yuri.

How many fic ideas are you nurturing right now?  Care to share one of them?

Too many to count and it's a bad thing right now! Especially with my many imcomplete works!

Share one of your strengths.

Originality I suppose?

Share one of your weaknesses.

, I at that haha. Though I'm improving story by story in order to meet some of my readers interest and satisfaction.

Share a snippet from one of your favorite pieces of prose you’ve written and explain why you’re proud of it.

Oh sure just be aware that bad grammar may be visible xD Here's a short piece from "Concealed Identity". I can't say I'm proud of it but I love it a lot, lot!

"Stories are often created from a man's imagination or a series of events that he personally experienced. In due time, they will evolve into accounts they believe to be worth sharing.

How he tells the story is completely up to him. No one would know the truth even if he were to lie.

You asked what triggered a man's unstoppable storytelling?

The answer is relationships

Are you willing to listen to my stories?

Are you willing to learn of the people who existed in them, by putting in the effort to understand their positions when you do not know them as well?

And lastly, do you trust me?

Should you trust me when you do not know me?

You wonder who I am?

If you knew who I am, would our relationship blossom? Then, would you listen to my stories?

Who am I, you wondered.

I am the only son of Oh Jaejung, the Minister of Defense in the King's palace, Oh Changwoo. My family has served our nation's kings for four generations and counting. Does this show my loyalty?

Do you trust me now?"

Share a snippet from one of your favorite dialogue scenes you’ve written and explain why you’re proud of it.

My favorite dialogue is probably a piece from "The Dead Wayfarers 2" where Howon, Dongwoo, and Seungho were conversing xD

When night came, Dongwoo and Howon came in after washing up and saw Seungho leaning against the wall while resting on the bed. Seungho was reading a book from Dongwoo's messy stack of random books. Dongwoo walked over and sat on the bottom bunk as Howon climbed onto the top bunk and tuck himself in. "You like to read?" Dongwoo asked, Seungho shut the book and lowered it from his gaze.

"You don't?"

Dongwoo smiled, "Certain genres only. I can't read horror. I'm not a fan of ghosts and supernatural."

"Then how are you dealing with reality?"

Dongwoo's smile faded when the friendly beginning turned into a serious conversation, "I get by okay."

Seungho heaved a heavy breath of exhaustion and placed the book aside. Dongwoo watched as Seungho folded his arms and shut his eyes, but remained sitting and leaning against the wall.

"102294, since we're going to be a trio for the time being, how about sharing some times among ourselves?" Howon asked from the top bunk. Dongwoo nodded with agreement and smiled, flashing his white teeth toward Seungho.

"That's a great idea Howon."

Howon sighed and sat up, "I'll go first then. I used to live in Busan and was recruited by WWIV when I was having a dance battle on the streets. I have parents and has an older brother, who's all dead now. Luckily I was part of WWIV, they took me in and gave me clothes, food, and shelter."

Dongwoo began immediately after Howon was done, "Hm, and I'm the only child. My parents are at the main building. I used to teach students how to dance, that's how I met Howon. I was a member of this organization since I entered College, but-"

"We'll skip the friendly introductions." Seungho cut him off as he fixed his gaze on the latter, "It sound like you two are thankful for being here."

Dongwoo nodded blankly as Howon rest his head on a hand and looked down at Seungho. "Of course, if we were out there who knows? We could have been dead by now. Why would you ask such a thing, are you not thankful?" Howon asked.

Seungho looked from Dongwoo to Howon, "To the organization that tore my crew apart, if you were me, would you be thankful?"

Howon and Dongwoo didn't understand his question nor concerns. "What do you mean?" Dongwoo asked bluntly.

Seungho thought to explain but remembering he was in WWIV, he decided not to, "Nothing."

"102294, if there's something you want to share then tell us. We don't want you to look down on WWIV." Howon explained. Seungho looked from their gazes again and sighed quietly to himself.

This won't do. I'm still in enemy territory

Which fic has been the hardest to write?

I find one shots the hardest to write, but honestly "Sincerely, Your Cocky Boss" and "They Have the Handcuffs" has been the hardest to even start or write about >.<

Which fic has been the easiest to write?

"The Dead Wayfarers" just because long responses by two readers only seemed to have kept me going and writing forever xD Other than "I Spy" which is a chapters story that was written in less than three consecutive days.

Is writing your passion or just a fun hobby?

Sometimes it's a passion than other times it feels like a hobby. So I honestly don't know >,<

Is there an episode above all others that inspires you just a little bit more?

Songs are what inspires me to write and come up with ideas more than all else xD I'd just be listening to a random song then an idea will come to mind, even if I didn't understand or even know the lyrics.

What’s the best writing advice you’ve ever come across?

Hm, to focus more on character's emotions rather than their surroundings(?) Not sure if its an advice or suggestion xD

What’s the worst writing advice you’ve ever come across?

The one who gave me this advice might see this so heh heh I'll pass.

If you could choose one of your fics to be filmed, which would you choose?

Most of my stories are written in a drama style(?), when I write I tend to see the characters on a set and that they're being filmed. So I think majority of my stories would have made a fine (not great) but fine film.

If you could only write one pairing for the rest of your life, which pairing would it be?

WooGyu xD

Do you write your story from start to finish, or do you write the scenes out of order?

Definitely out of order.

Do you use any tools, like worksheets or outlines?

I use outlines for my story "Concealed Identity" mainly because its set to be a long fic with many scenes and characters.

Stephen King once said that his muse is a man who lives in the basement.  Do you have a muse?

Uh INFINITE?

Describe your perfect writing conditions.

As long as I have my laptop and access to good music then I'll always be ready to write xD

How many times do you usually revise your fic/chapter before posting?

I never do honestly, before posting.

Choose a passage from one of your earlier fics and edit it into your current writing style

I remember this question before! And I think I chose from "I Spy" or "The Dead Wayfarers" o.o

If you were to revise one of your older fics from start to finish, which would it be and why?

"Breaking Her Labyrinth" that featured Han Gain and Tao as a Gumiho couple. The beginning was alright but then I started lacking and rushed the whole ending. I feel bad for those who read from start to finish.

Have you ever deleted one of your published fics?

Yes, an older version of "Concealed Identity". I had four versions of it xD

What do you look for in a beta?

Someone who can provide helpful tips and even advices~

Do you beta yourself?  If so, what kind of beta are you?

I don't do beta but I am a reviewer. So I've tried fixing author's grammar before.

How do you feel about collaborations?

I'm starting one with my sister and it's a hilarious one we planned together xD I honestly also want to collaborate with informantxgirl, SHINeegirl989, and -Tigress-! And also BloodyRavens maybe for a contest or something xD

Share three (what three? I have more than three faves, come on!) of your favorite fic writers and why you like them so much.

Gosh this is and will be hard xD (Not in any order but....)

dhaatk - she's a co-reviewer of mine and I have had the chance to read her work. She's amazing as both a co-reviewer and author, as well as a human being. I can brag about how awesome she is but she may hate me for it!

informantxgirlAs we're both Inspirits who's UB is the Hamster Grandpa Sunggyu, that was what brought us together in a sense. By entering my Infinite contest that I hosted, I was also given the pleassure to read such talented work of hers. Her personality just cracks me up and she's the best!

gaksitalGaksital - Probably one of the best writer/customer at descriptive languages at my review shop. I can only envy her talent at being the best descriptive writer. Seriously.

divinnedionne - (She probably knows this) but I have told her before that she was my number one favorite author at Infinite stories. She is strong in originality and terminologies. I'm so in love with her stories that I tend to re-read them without her knowledge xD (Now she knows if she sees this!)

EFJify - Though I've said that divinnedionne was my fave at writing Infinite stories, EFJify doesn't fall much further behind. She's especially good with plot twists within cute and fluffy stories~

If you could write the sequel (or prequel) to any fic out there not written by yourself, which would you choose?

Gosh this is hard....I think I would have written a sequel to sendohime's (also one of my favorite Infinite writer) "A Prison Without Bars" where maknae Sungjong is so evil (I'm still mad just thinking bout it xD) and Myungsoo was also part of it. I just needed a sequel because the ending came too fast!

Do you accept prompts?

For contests, sometimes they can be inspiring xD

Do you take liberties with canon or are you very strict about your fic being canon compliant?

I tend to go both ways for all genres really xD I like to look at the multiple sides of the story xD

How do you feel about ?

I don't think it's bad but if I can choose whether or not to write bout it then I wouldn't, majority of the time.

How do you feel about crack?

Uh, as long as it's something I can see happening?

What are your thoughts on non-con and dub-con.

As long as it's not abusive then I guess it's alright...? (They are abusive to a certain level in general, dumb me >.<)

Would you ever kill off a canon character?

Certainly

Which is your favorite site to post fics?

AFF, Wattpad no one there xD

Talk about your current WIPs.

Too many, I'd rather just list those in progress but the list would bored everyone (including myself) so pass!

Talk about a review that made your day.

When the reviewer went in-depth about the story's contents rather than just attacking my grammar or errors.

Do you ever get rude reviews and how do you deal with them?

I wouldn't say rude but I've gotten reviews where I was marked down for appearances but then it turns out that both mine and the reviewer's screen saw differently (no idea why or how) but the colors were different so it looked like I was trying to blend grey colored fonts into a black background (lol >.<) But on mine it was gold on dark red background.

Write an alternative ending to [a fic of yours] (or just the summary of one).

Um an alternative ending to a fic could be "He Has the Handcuffs" ft. Dongjun. Then again, I wouldn't have ended it any other way I think xD

Tagging 2kinalo, mirandaskpop, and infinfic! You gals better do this!

I was just scrolling down and nodding along in agreement (especially with "too many ideas to count", so true!) and then bam, my name! :D whaaa, thanks so much. i love that we both love the Gyubaby and i love that you take time out of your life to host contests and that you write in a genre most people would never even attempt because it's so freakin' hard! gyustrawberry kisses to you!
