Maeng Siyoung came from a normal family with a warm hearted mother, busy busy father and some fun-to-bt-with brothers. His father was someone who crazy over education, he forced his kids to follow his path and be a businessman or something that include high intelligent in it. But Siyoung was never been a smart student, he was rather normal student with his up and down scrores. The only time Siyoung met his father was to listen to his long lecture beside that his father never really around due to his busy work. Siyoung never really bother to work hard on his school anyway. His passion is always music. He was pretty active underground anyway. He help some of his friend's song by filling the singing part. Yes, he is underground singer ( and yes there is not only rapper ). Evnethough he and his friends werent famous one but they love what they had and promosing to never stop making music. Later after Siyoung get enough confidence he decided to join any audition. He trained under Winning Insight M ( was previously known as The E&M; Mr.Mr's company ) for 1 years before the company put him in a soon-to-be-debut group. It was a few months after the company debuted Mr.Mr. It was worse time in his life. It didnt feel right, sing was and always his dream but he didnt see any chance to be succes under the company since his group was never the company priority. Siyoung was indeed right, the company changed the plan. They took Jiwon out of the group and put him in Mr.Mr. the nameless trainee group was left as a 4 membered group until Hon was also forced to join Mr.Mr and the group was announced to be disband, in the end of 2013. The only explenation Siyoung got was the group wasnt good enough to debut. Siyoung was really frustated, he fought with his father and spent 4 years with nothing as the result. One by one -mate decide to move out or quit from WIM. In mid 2014 Siyoung decide to try on joining the other agency, he did ask Hon to join him but he refused with 'my image is already destroyed' reason. Siyoung never expect to got accepted in such a big company as YG and training under YG was surprisingly felt way better. Siyoung felt like he improved a lot and gain his confidence back. Especially after YG transfer him to ELite to debut.

Siyoung often describe himself as a badass. When in fact he is the complete opposite. He is just this one little kid who watch too many action movie and pretend that he is as cool as the character in it. You can see it clearly that all his oh-so-called badass attitude looks awkward on him. To explain how he is far from the word badass is how he talk, for example. Instead of rebel around, ( if you tell him to ) he able to sit nicely and listen to long lecture you gave to him. And if you tell him clearly and well, he'll obediently do what you told him ( including fooling and ordering him around ). Another example is, his habit in talking. He usually blurt out something non-sense, with his adorable lisp. Siyoung is the type of friend that you usually ask to repeat their sentences because of how unclear it is. like most of the time he mutters what he want to say. Dont worry though, he is less mumblish now compared to when he was junior high. Siyoung is also someone who got bully and fooled alot just because he believe easily on what people say. He just cant tell whether youre joking or being serious. Especially if you put this poker face while saying lie, he will easliy lost. His IQ is not that bad though, his is like normal person's. He is just..... innocent like that. Siyoung is complete kicked puppy sometime, he is like almost 24 hours lost and get bullied a lot when he was kid. No matter how hard he tried to act all badass he'll end up getting fooled. Even by his own older brother.

Siyoung is a determined kid. Once Siyoung set a goal, he'll try his harder, he'll do anything to achieve his goal. He will try this and that, maybe ask his hyungs or friends around him for an advice. Yes, believe on the power of someone else's advice. He may cry buckets of tears but as long as it worth it he wont stop. Same goes to opinion he believe in, even in tears he wont change his mind. The only thing that change his point of view is proofs. But in the end Siyoung is Siyoung. Siyoung never really want to be a leader ( who would let this kind of person as a leader anyway- ) He doesnt even like to walk in the front. Siyoung prefer to be follower. He let the other decide on everything just because he doesnt want the other to dislike him. Sometimes he even sounds like he a wishy washy person. He said 'a' to this person but later he said 'b' to the other. But it just Siyoung trying hard to fit in.
