byeolks:

let me get something straight ok

tokyo dome is literally just a stadium run by a team of people who gauge popularity in terms of concert revenue and solid fanbases. it’s a location for the most popular artists to perform, and it happens to be based in japan.

exo’s had several concerts in japan. they’ve had a few greeting concerts in japan. kpop is so heavily saturated in asia that yes, most people know who big kpop artists are regardless of what country they’re from. it’s funny that people say their fanbase isn’t stable in japan because apink and exo are the most prominent groups REVERSING the decline of the kpop craze in japan. their TLP concerts tickets? they were practically coveted in japan when the lost planet was ongoing. you would not imagine the chaos that ensued after ticket sales.

they were not spoon fed their fame. just because they’re popular doesn’t mean they had it easy training or debuting. have you seen these boys work themselves to the bone every day? nobody in kpop is spoon fed anything. just because a lot of people like exo doesn’t mean they didn’t have a reason to like exo in the first place, just because they’re popular doesn’t mean they were always popular, just because they’re popular doesn’t give you the right to call them unworthy of their success.

the tokyo dome invites whomever they wish to invite. people COMPLAIN about having has a really really large fanbase but when they’re being invited to a prestigious stadium to perform then their fanbase is suddenly not enough.

they’re popular. they’ve worked. they’ve had the privilege to debut when hallyu was at a high and thats great but that doesn’t make them less worthy of anything!

70′s kids didn’t have technology like we do. does that mean we’re somehow weaker and less intelligent than they are just because we have more information at our fingertips? i’d say we work just as hard but in different ways. everyone works hard and every industry will grow, and it means you have to adapt and work harder in different ways.

you do not need to promote in japanese to perform ANYWHERE in japan regardless of whether it’s the tokyo dome or a park in osaka. taylor swift has performed there. she’s a pop icon in america who’s broken records and become a huge influence in the american pop industry (with no official japanese breakthrough. she’s just popular.)  exo’s a pop icon in korean and have broken records and become a huge influence in the korean pop industry (with no official japanese breakthrough. they’re just popular.)

there. is. no. difference. if you’re deemed popular in japan then you’re invited to tokyo dome and it’s a huge honor because it means you’re popular.  it doesn’t mean you’re better. it doesn’t make you superior. it just means you’re a trend, you’re liked by the masses, and you’re well known. good for them. let us enjoy exo’s success, let us relish in our progress this past year because after having to bear two members leaving, so many scandals weighing us down, and the added hate that everyone else bestows on us, it’s really hard to be happy for exo now without fearing that people will beat us down and tell us how undeserving they are.

exo is not undeserving of anything they do. no one in kpop is undeserving of anything because we all know how hard they work everyday and it seems that people only recognize hard work when it regards their biases. shinee waited years and years for this? no. shinee worked years and years for this and that shouldn’t be forgotten. but exo has nothing to do with shinee and vice versa. one group’s success is not a mockery of the other group! imagine how happy taemin must be for kai right now. you think he wouldnt be happy for his closest friend to have gotten to where he is today? shinee knows where they stand and they know where exo stands. they stand together. they work together. but apparently their fandoms are not the same.

exo worked for this too. tokyo dome is not a little checkpoint you automatically get after a set amount of years. tokyo dome is an honor and if it’s an honor for shinee, and an honor for suju, then why the hell can’t it be an honor for exo? i guess the youngest billionaire in the world is also undeserving of his money because he got rich too quickly, right?
