First off, I'm really glad that Yixing's being supported by SM on his studio in China. Really, good work on SM's behalf for finally seeing his potential.

But I have a feeling a feeling that this decision wasn't solely on the fact that "Oh, Lay's so talented. We'll open up in China for him so that he can help bring more talent domestically." The question to ask would be, "Why NOW?"

Why not back in 2013 when SM's influence with China was pretty much at it's greatest to add to the whole hype thing. You know, before the storm that was KrisHan.

Why now? Why not before?

You may not agree with me, but I think that this move was for two reasons:

1) A preemptive measure to satisfy the remaining Chinese members in EXO. Cause you gotta admit, KrisHan leaving crippled SM severely in the Chinese market. If they wanted to hang on whatever they had left of it, they'd do what they could to make sure that they'd stay in there.

2) To win back the Chinese market after the damage that KrisHan did AND to make sure that in their view, they'll see SM as good towards their foreign idols. Cause let's face it, SM had a lot of trouble with not 1, not 2, but 3 Chinese people under their management. They ed up with Hangeng and they got on KrisHan's nerves. This of course would seriously diminish the Chinese public opinion of SM, to which it did to a somewhat big scale. With this move with Yixing, this would not only allow for more domestic promotions in China with SM, but it will also pretty much give off the vibe that "Hey, we're not discriminating against the Chinese as you can see. We gave Yixing this and that....yeah. Please don't hate us. Come back to us."

Now, I am NOT dismissing Yixing's abilities at composing, managing, and etc. I love the fella a lot and he really is talented. But SM's motives behind such an act can definitely lead to some questioning and for opinions to be made on why it happened as it was considering the timing and placing of everything.
