Before anything else, just to be clear, this is just my opinion about EXO's newest album, EXODUS...

Don't expect an unbiased review coz guys, real talk, there's no such word as 'unbiased' when it comes to music...

Why? Because it depends on someone's taste if he/she's going to like a song and people have different preferences...

 

 

THESE ARE MY PURE AND HONEST OPINIONS ABOUT EACH SONG. 

 

 

1. Call Me Baby - At first, it's a bit so-so for me but after a few more listen to it, it's stuck in my head (which is usual for an SM song, tbh)

About the MV: So far, it's the best EXO MV, in my opinion. I love the transition in each scene and their one shot camera angles...

      They all look good especially Chanyeol (he really caught my eyes, and his dancing has improved-- yay for our Chanyeollie

      \>)... if I'm going to rate it according to the song + mv,

      I'll give it an 8.5/10 :)

 

 

 

2. Transformer - Wow, this is my style, it caught me offguard...

Very hiphop at the beginning but i'm having a bit of a problem on their refrain, chorus (aside from the rap part) and bridge, it doesn't fit the song for me... I hope they went for a full hiphop concept but yeah it depends on the listener tho...

BUT STILL Y RAPPER LINE THO~ SO YEAH I STILL LIKE IT!

 

 

 

3. What If - LOVE THIS SO MUCH !!!

  Everytime EXO sings RnB I think I'm going to faint!!

  (RnB EXO is my style, my all-time fave songs from them are mostly RnB: Christmas Day, December, 2014, My Lady, The Star)

  Gosh kill me with iness you boys >_<

 

 

 

4. My Answer - a ballad song with a very sad melody... I love that beautiful piano in the beginning... I just want to praise the Vocal Line cause they totally killed the song. They sang it like a melting honey, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE...

     One of my fave songs in the album :)

 

 

 

 

5. Exodus - I've listen to this but I didn't finish it... At first, I like it more than Call Me Baby but it changed as soon as I saw the MV...lool

I'll try to listen to it for two or more times and see if it'll stick on my mind as well...

 

 

 

 

6. El Dorado - so they used this one as a soundtrack for their last album (or teasers? i don't know)...and about the track--- i'm sorry but as much as I love EXO, I don't like this at all, I think it's messy, I don't get the melody. The beats are good but that's just that.

 

There's this kind of "messy-ness" in Kpop songs:

•  Organized Mess - messy but catchy, I'm addicted to it...
•  Messy - messy but still okay to listen to...
•  and Over-the-Top Messy - i'm not going to listen to it even though other people find it catchy...

and El Dorado is Over-the-Top Messy for me...but there's a good part-- the rap part, it kinda save the whole thing for me...

 

 

 

7. Playboy - Damn, I heard Jonghyun wrote this and damn, I want an MV for this... Damn you Y EXO~~ 

  "Gwenchana, gwenchana" "Play, play, play" 

Ohmayghad SM please create a drama MV of this song with EXO's money,surely they've earned a lot since they're no. 1 in physical album sales right? Give them what they deserve!!

   We need a more mature and y EXO right now!! >_<

   (I could imagine them playing in the club, then seducing a girl, gosh my inner byuntae gotta be unleashing..)

 

 

 

8. Hurt - an okay song... as usual, I love the rap part... rapper line jjang!!~~ you work hard *thumbs up*

 

 

 

9. Lady Luck - a y song, it's on the Messy Category but I'm pretty drawn to it..

It has a very y vibe, my only problem is that 'weird bass' on the background (I'm a bit sensitive when it comes to beats, I especially love Bass-sounds) but it's okay.

I kinda like that girl's moans on the background lol, it's a bit refreshing for a group like EXO... (you read it right, a girl's moan, when I heard it, I was like 'wut the efff--- ??" then burst into laughter but it really is unique and imma listen to the whole song more... lol, I wonder what's EXO's reaction while recording this song...) >_<

 

 

 

10. Beautiful - Suho's solo turned into a group song, it's cute and I like it :) I'm getting good vibes while listening to it ^_^
