She was  fluent in the language because her grandfather taught her to be when she was a child.

After her grandpa died, she decided to continue studying the language in school. She felt an attachment to the language because it was first taught to her by her granpa, she thinks she is connected with her grandpa through the language (or something XD).

She started writing stories in English as practice at first (all her stories were in Korean before), but then she started getting tons of readers so she continued writing in that language.

Everytime her stories become a hit she feels that her grandpa is proud and happy, smiling down at her from heaven.

TRAITS — Imaginative/Creative, passionate in her writing, organized, book worm, has a great memory, uncoordinated, blunt, Inattentive, Introvert-ish, Quiet, Afraid of trying new things

PERSONALITY

Nari is a daydreamer. She is usually caught up in her own world creating different kinds of stories and scenarios. She usually writes her ideas down and even writes novels, short stories, or poems that she post online under the name: IridescentLily. She has a way with words that makes her good at writing, though she still thinks she has more to improve on. She is a bookworm and can just stay all day cooped up reading a book (most probably more). Likewise, she can’t survive a day without one. She also has a great memory and due to that, she has a habit of quoting lines that she read from a book if it fit the situation. She is organized and doesn’t like her things to be in a mess (ex: her books are arranged by title and all her works are filed and organized by title as well). Nari always has a smile on her face.

Nari is quiet and is the type of person who would just talk if people approach her. But if she does talk, surprisingly, there’s this tone of confidence in her voice. She isn’t really shy; she just doesn’t like to speak out of line.

She is also blunt with her words. If someone asks her if they look fine and she doesn’t think so, she would be straightforward about it. Sometimes though, she would state comments and opinions randomly. Also due to her daydreaming, she gets a bit inattentive at times and usually spaces out. She is also a bit of a klutz. Another thing is that she is afraid to try new things. An example of this is that she's so used to just staying indoors and reading and just basically being quiet at a corner that she got scared of trying outdoor activities.

BACKGROUND

Nari comes from a middle-class family. Her parents don’t really see eye-to-eye and they argue most of the time. It was because they were young when they had Nari and had to get married young as well—they weren’t really experienced. Her parents still wanted to continue their studies to achieve their dream professions so she was entrusted to her grandfather (mother side) who took care of her. Her grandfather was the one who named her; she was named after the favourite flower of her grandmother who died before she was born. Her grandfather liked to tell and read stories to her when she was young which made her love books and writing. Her first ever attempt in writing a story was when she was 8 (it was in Korean), and when her granpa read it, he told her that she had the potential to be a successful writer in the future. Her dream to be an author blossomed there.

When she was twelve, her grandfather died. At that time, she became reclusive and she usually cried herself to sleep. Her parents’ fights, that became more frequent, didn’t help. To distract herself, she lost herself in the comfort of the stories she reads. She started writing more and posted her works as well. It gave her hope and happiness. She doesn’t want to cry anymore so she told herself that she would always smile.

LIKES — Books— her life

Notebooks, paper, and pens— can’t write without them

Coffee— handy drink when she’s staying up writing or reading

Ice cream— her grandfather always bought her this when she was young

Classical music— helps her concentrate

DISLIKES — Outdoor Activities and Noise

Spicy food

Heels

Arguments

Haters/ Bashers/ Flamers— they could just give her constructive criticism without bad-mouthing her and her works

HOBBIES — Reading

Writing

Hanging out at The Dream Bean Cafe or the Library when she has free time

HABITS — Stating random quotes from books

Biting her nails when she’s nervous

Tapping her pen on a table or any surface when she’s bored

TRIVIA She doesn’t like the amusement park for some reason. She wouldn’t even step in one. She just thinks that it’s a place not meant for her.

One time when her parents shouted at each other when she woke up, she got her laptop and three books and went straight to The Dream Bean Cafe and stayed there until 11 pm. She drank about 8 cups of coffee that time.

She’s an awkward dancer. She tried it once; she’s never going to try it again. (She got laughed at during that time)

She’s confident with her writing skills.

One time, when she was looking for a job, she got too caught up in a plot that she was forming in her head that she almost got hit by a car. She got saved by Junmyeon. At that day, she hit two birds with one stone: she got a new friend, and a job.

She isn’t really looking for a boyfriend. She thinks she isn’t ready for it yet. (She doesn’t like the situation of her parents to happen to her as well)

When You Smile, Sun shines

LOVE INTEREST — Kim Jongin

BACKUP LOVE INTEREST — Kim Junmyeon

BACKGROUND — Passionate, Self-depreciating, can use any ordinary item as a toy, Age: 21 (Birthday: January 14, 1994), hard-working, once he set his eyes on something, he would do whatever it takes to get or achieve it, sometimes he can be a bit pushy though

Jongin is the youngest son in a family of successful people. His mother is a doctor, his father is a lawyer, his older sister is an architect, and his eldest sister is a news reporter. Due to this, his parents like him to be successful as well. When his parents knew that he wanted to be a dancer, they got mad and confronted him about it, saying that they wouldn't support him. Jongin, really wanting to become what he wants, left Seoul and his family to start his career on his own when he was 19. He found himself in Summerhaven and he stayed there. He never got in contact with his parents ever since he left. At times though, he would find himself thinking if his family was well and that if they miss him, because he does, even though he has a bit of a grudge against them...they're still family after all.

His first year of being on his own was rough. It was the first time that he became independent and he wasn't used to it. But instead of just giving up, his rough times made him even for determined to reach his dreams. After a year, his eldest sister had to cover some news in Summerhaven and she found Jongin. She promised him not to tell his parents and she started to help Jongin by giving some fund to him.

FIRST MEETING — They first met when Kai decided to buy a book that he likes. The book was something that he read already but he doesn’t have a copy of it. When he was paying for it, Nari stated a quote from the book when she saw the title and Kai got surprised. He thought that Nari was interesting so they became friends.

INTERACTIONS — Their interactions are kind of a question and answer thing. Kai would randomly ask questions (most of them ones that are comprehension-based like why certain events happen or stuff about books) to Nari and she would answer with her opinion and sometimes they would discuss. Though most of the time Kai had to snap Nari out of her thoughts because she usually spaces out in the middle of their “talks”. He also likes reading Nari’s works online. When Kai knew that Nari doesn’t really like the great outdoors, he decided to let Nari experience outdoor activities. He pretty much forced Nari to do things she doesn’t normally does. (Like going in an amusement park, they pretty much made a big scene). After some time, Jongin fell for Nari (he was especially attracted to how she constructs her sentences and how she talks) and vice versa.

Jongin is pretty much an open book to Nari. He shares with her his dreams, his thoughts, his opinions, and Nari gladly comments about them. He needs to directly ask Nari for her to open up, though.

Jongin also likes to bring Nari to the studio and performances so she could watch him dance. Every time Nari watches him, she always had this awe-struck face on and Kai absolutely loves seeing the expression on her face. They would have a problem when it comes to his female dance partners, though. Whenever his dance partners became too close or flirty with him, Nari doesn't hesitate to show her jealous and overprotective side.

COMMENTS/SUGGESTIONS — I like this applyfic~ Hahaha. I love the plotlines ^_^

SCENE REQUESTS — The saved by Junmyeon scene. XD A scene where Jongin forced Nari to go to the amusement park and when he also forced her to dance. Or a scene when Nari jokingly told Kai to call her noona since she’s older and Kai got really surprised.

Grandpa encouragement scene! :3 (Like a flashback or something XD)

PASSWORDLavender (I DON’T REALLY KNOW HAHAHAHA Can't really find a song that describes their love story lol)
