Red Velvet is causing quite the commotion. With the seemingly random addition of their fifth member Yeri, Red Velvet is the center of attention with rumors floating around. While some speculate that Red Velvet will be gaining even more members in the future, others wonder if Red Velvet is a rotational group in which members are regularly swapped out for other trainees from S.M.ROOKIES

On March 18, 'Xsports News' held an interview with the rookie girl group in their 'M! Countdown' waiting room to discuss Yeri's addition and to clarify the rumors.

When asked how she felt about joining the group, Yeri said, "I knew [the members] originally very well; they're unnies with whom I trained. The unnies really take care of me very well so I'm thankful.

Then the unnies themselves were asked how they felt when they first heard about the news of a new member. Seulgi answered, "Ever since we were little, Yeri and I played and talked a lot. I know about Yeri's merits so when I heard the news, I thought, 'Looks like our group color is getting an upgrade.' We're the quiet type, but now it feels like we are fresher. I like that a fun and bubbly friend joined us.

When the interviewer mentioned that Joy was no longer the maknae of the group, Joy replied, "Yeri is younger than me in age, but she's my sunbae as a trainee so she took good care of me. Since Yeri came into the group, it's been more fun. Now that I'm 20 years old, I wonder if I can show a more diverse image rather than a cute image later. Because Yeri joined the team, I think things have become better.

Finally, the interviewer asked if there would be anymore changes to the group. Red Velvet replied, "There were a lot of theories. There was a theory that because there was a six-piece cake in our MV that we would have six members; there was even talk that we would have 12 members. But there will be no more changes.

At this, the interviewer asked, "Will you be moving onward as five members like this?" to which Red Velvet re-affirmed, "Yes.

This news will come to many as a huge relief! Say hello to the new and improved Red Velvet, folks. Looks like the five members are here to stay.
