Red Velvet VS Minah

So Red Velvet has made a comeback.

I personally liked Automatic more than Ice Cream Cake. Automatic has that classy feel similar to Be Natural. Ice Cream Cake just screamed f(x) because of the weird vibes it gives off. But there’s a difference between f(x) and Red Velvet though. f(x) has something more electronic and bass-y under-laying their tracks.  But I honestly didn’t think the concept suited Red Velvet though. All the comments I’ve read on the music video talks about Red Velvet doing an awesome job with Ice Cream Cake (and I’m just like ‘hell, nobody complimented f(x) on Red Light. //butthurt fan here//) I didn’t think Ice Cream Cake sounded nice though, the lalalala part was a turn-off already. (I hate creepy stuff) It reminded me of f(x)’s Shadow but Shadow was less creepy and it was more catchy. Ice Cream Cake definitely aint going on ma playlist. But I don’t know, other people enjoy it. If you do, then keep listening and support Red Velvet! Imma listen to Automatic. I particularly love the first verse that Seulgi sings.

But I have to say SM sure blew their budget on RV. Like cutting costs by giving f(x) boxes for their mv sets and then spending whatever they saved on Red Velvet. Sure, SM. Sure. But it sure pays off though. Both mvs are really interesting. SM trying something new here with RV hurhur.

And then Minah’s solo debut rocked my world. I checked Red Velvet out first before Minah’s and I was sooo happy with Minah’s title track. I am a Woman too totally suits Minah. But people comment things like the song is horrible and it’s a waste of Minah’s talent. And I totally, completely, absolutely disagree. Because clearly, people think of singing as screaming high notes into the microphone now... tch. The song is R and B and it’s so catchy and so fun, especially the bridge (I love you, love you, love you part) It makes me want to sing along and sway and have fun. I don’t understand why people can’t seem to appreciate music that lacks high notes and stuff.

And the choreography was feminine, fun and y. Esepcially the chorus. And them hip s. Damn.

So, Minah VS Red Velvet, I would say Minah wins. I previously wasn’t that into Girls’ Day but watching Minah’s solo debut and Yura’s WGM has got me going.

But then again, why choose one when you can support both and have the best of both worlds?

Let’s hope both Minah and Red Velvet will do well on the charts :)

What do you think? Share your thoughts with me! :))
