35 Questions Fic Tag

Stolen from Ri (MYOUIthegreat). Questions by OnceUponAnExo.

1. How did you come up with your username and what does it mean?

This seems so long ago that I actually can’t remember. I think I just came up with it on the fly. It actually stands for steel-tip darts and paper hearts.

2. Which is your most subscribed to, story?

It’s actually Moonlight Hotel, a wenrene fic. I’m not surprised when I checked because it is a chaptered fic after all. The nest update is dead in a ditch though lmao.

3. Why did you pick your user photo/thumbnail?

Because I love this girl called Myoui Mina.

4. Who is your AFF bestie?

I used to have a bestie here who is from the same sunny island as me but she stopped writing and she’s gone :( Someone be my bestie :(

5. Is there a fanfic that you keep going back to read again and again?

Contrary to what people think, the ones that I keep re-reading are actually snsd fics. Bless my taengsic/jeti/yoonsic/OT9 heart. My favourite writers for snsd are sparksfly7, checkinyourbra, etc

6. How many stories are you subscribed to?

Over a thousand lmao. But mostly because I don’t bother unsubscribing haha.

7. What AU do you find yourself writing about most?

I actually like writing canon a lot recently. In the past, I liked writing about unrequited loves.

8. How many friends do you have?

239.

9. Is there something you'd like to write about but are afraid of people judging you for it? (Feeling brave? If so, share it!)

Not really. I just write whatever I want. Whether or not people read it, it’s up to them haha.

10. Is there anything you would like to be better at on AFF? Writing, graphic design (posters), replying to comments, updating regularly, etc..?

Definitely writing. There is always room for improvement when it comes to my crafts. I would love to do more graphic designs but I don’t have the time to do those anymore. I just do posters for my own stories haha.

11. How many subscribers do you have?

My total subscribers are over 12,000 but unique subs are 6,000.

12. How many stories have you posted online to this day (finished and unfinished)?

22 on aff but I’ve deleted some because they were old and crappy haha.

13. How many stories do you have saved in your writing program?

I save all my stories on my laptop and on dropbox. So there are a lot and I don’t bother counting haha.

14. Do you write down story ideas, or just keep them in your head?

Definitely have to write it down. I forget sudden inspirations pretty easily.

15. Have you ever co-authored a story?

The (dead in a ditch) sequel for White Lies with frozenbear/noketchupnomina but hahahahaha

16. How did you discover AFF?

It was winglin at first. Some random writer was moving to aff so I clicked aff and /a whole new world/ (you have to sing it.)

17. Do you consider yourself to be a popular or famous author on AFF?

I would think people in the snsd/twice fandom would know me since I’m on twitter too. Not necessarily popular but I’ve been into kpop for a while now.

18. Do you have a nickname or fandom name for your readers?

Lmao people actually do that? That’s weird af.

19. Was there an AFF author who inspired or encouraged you to write?

http://www.asianfanfics.com/blog/view/820332 (the whole story here haha)

20. How many karma points do you have?

17573.

21. What writing advice would you give to a beginning author?

Just write whatever you want. As long as you persist, you’ll improve and gradually find your own writing style.

22. Do you plot out your stories, or do you just figure it out as you go?

I actually do both haha. Sometimes the inspiration hits and I just churn out a whole one-shot in a day haha.

23. Have you ever gotten a bad review or comment on a story? If so, what did you do?

No, but there has been criticisms regarding the characters. Because I tend to portray my characters not very positively (I prefer calling them realistic lol). I remember in my first michaeng one-shot, people were like WHY IS MINA SO EVIL.

24. Is there a certain type of scene that you have a hard time writing? (action, , etc..)

Writing in general for me is hard haha. My stories tend to focus on emotions so there’s usually not much action going on so that’s already hard. On the contrary though, is pretty easy for me but I usually don’t write that unless I deem it as necessary.

25. What story(s) are you working on now?

Juvenile (michaeng/jeongmi). Modulation (mitzu/mimo).

26. Do you plan your next project(s) before you finish your current ongoing story(s)?

I do have a list of what I want to write, but they aren’t planned out. They’re usually very vague summaries.

27. Do you have a daily writing goal set for yourself?

No, because I usually just stare at my laptop screen and hope words will type themselves lmao.

28. Do you think you've improved as a writer since you first started?

I’m not sure to be honest. I do know that my writing style has changed over time.

29. What is your favorite story that you've written?

For Twice, it’s probably Don’t Be Lonely. The other one would be the taengsic one, Motels, Postcards and Lazy Smiles. (only on LJ)

30. What is your least favorite story that you've written?

It’ll probably be You’ll Never Know and When I Met You in Summer. Jeti fics. I’m proud of them but they’re my least favourite because I based the protagonist on myself and I probably exaggerated certain qualities. I don’t think it was what the fic needed now that I look back on it.

31. Where do you see yourself (as a writer) in 5 years?

I might still be writing. Who knows? I love weaving stories out of nothing but my imagination.

32. How many upvotes do you have?

773.

33. What is the easiest thing about writing?

NOTHING.

34. What is the hardest thing about writing?

EVERYTHING.

35. Why do you write?

I guess it is a form of expression. In the past, it was an expression of self, how I saw myself and my identity. Recently, my fics can be seen as an expression of my ideals, beliefs and opinions. I like writing about the human condition, that’s why people might not like my characters that much. They get toyed with (Pavlov’s Bell), they get lonely (Don’t Be Lonely), they get jealous (Politeness and Prejudice) even though they try to do their best to do the right thing (White Lies). They fall in love (Sunny Sunday Smiles), they get overly curious and involved with the wrong crowd (Cigarette Daydreams), they treasure friendship (One in a Million). Lol see what I did there, explanation and advertisement, killing two birds with one stone. That’s why I named the series Light. There’s always a little bit of light in everyone no matter how they might act.

This was a cool read. I read your AFF journey as well, and dang we had sort of the same start in getting into kpop! The only difference, I guess, is that I got into them when I was 15 or 16? My first bias was IU then I moved onto SNSD after liking their song, Genie, which I discovered from watching Dream High. Prior to these though, I was so into anime, and I guess I still like em even to this date. And can I agree any more about the bit about "what's the hardets thing about writing? EVERYTHING!"?? honestly can't remember when I managed to write a decent amount of writing without hetting stuck at word block.
