Updated Terms of Use and Content Guidelines. Effective March 1st, 2015

This part of the updated Terms of Use was of particular interest to me:

"10. Public Forums and Communication

"Public Forum" means an area, site or feature that may be offered as part of any ASIANFANFICS Site that offers the opportunity for you to post content for viewing by one or more ASIANFANFICS Site users, including a chat area, message board, instant messaging, mobile messaging, social community environment, profile page, conversation page, blog, and e-mail function.

You acknowledge that Public Forums and features offered therein are for public and not private communications, and you have no expectation of privacy with regard to your posts to a Public Forum. We cannot guarantee the security of any information you disclose through any of these media; you make such disclosures at your own risk. We do not verify or authenticate the identity of any other users with whom you may interact in the course of using the Service."

That means if you blog about this public blog post, you aren't doing something against the rules. If you mention a comment I left on a public blog post, in your public blog, it's also not against the rules. That's my take on it, anyway.

The new Content Guidelines are effective starting March 1st. This one has me wondering what it really means:

"3. Any explicit content involving characters 14 years of age or older that lacks literary or artistic merit."

Does PWP have artistic merit? And, does this mean someone can post a story with explicit ual content between a 14 year old and a year old and it won't be removed from AFF? I find that troublesome. So, a PWP story involving a 14 year old OR a 50 year old would be treated equally? I'm confused and concerned. Hopefully AFF will give us some clarification. If PWP isn't allowed any longer, I will have to try to actually write something with substance. =p

Nah, PWP is still allowed. It's the 14-18 age bit that mods are going to have to investigate more when it comes to stories. We've already spoken with the admin about being more concrete with that particular rule.

WHat's PWP btw? There are so many stories on AFF just involving explicit scenes, be it between an and or <18 and . I doubt anyone will go report all those stories unless the content is really disturbing?
It's also hard to expect most teenage writers to actually write stuff with substance cos most of the stories are mainly a reflection of their fantasies about their idols.
Somehow the more AFF explains the TOU the more confused I am. haha

I find it confusing and disturbing and beside how can they decide if the story is tasteful enough to have an explict content on or not
