The Bottom Line About Yifan

i really don’t understand why people don’t like kris. he’s kind and he’s got a good heart and he’s confident but humble. he’s gone through so much but he doesn’t complain and remains optimistic. he chooses to accept all the bad things in life as challenges to take and lessons to be learned.

he doesn’t agree with the ridiculous beauty standards upheld in east asia and he’s said many times that he believes his opinion doesn’t matter when it comes to how a woman should look. he says that as long as she’s happy, that’s what matters. he drove off a bunch of guys who were street-harrassing the sowk actresses, he said that the thing where a guy stands over a girl and holds her up against a wall is something he’d only do as an actor in a role because in real life it’s too domineering. When he takes photos with women he’s careful not to put his arm around them or touch them unless they tell him to.

children like him very much and he’s really got a gift when it comes to interacting with them. he’s not condescending at all. he’s also the reason several children are alive today, because he’s paid for those children who are less privileged to have heart screenings and surgeries when they otherwise wouldn’t have been able to get any care. this was an independent activity as well: no one asked him to do it and he didn’t ask for any publicity about his contribution. all information about it came from others.

he’s never complained when the spotlight was on others and when he was duizhang he tried to make sure that everyone was comfortable and contributed. not once did I ever hear him cut in when they talked about the other members’ musical talents and say that actually, he played five (and now six) instruments. he would just smile and accept it when people said all he could do was be handsome and draw cartoons.

it’s always upsetting to me when people call him dumb. he speaks, reads, and writes in four languages, he got straight A’s in high school and even attended tuition classes (most likely at the local college) for math and Chinese. he’s often spotted reading in the airport and one of the English books that I know he’s read is extremely high-level…difficult for even native-English-speaking college students to get through. Is his slang out-dated? yeah. does that make him dumb? no.

he’s kind to his fans, as well. he reads every letter he can and arranges events where meigeni can attend and meet him and interact with him. he named his character’s daughter after us, so that when we sat in the theater we could hear him say that “nini is the most precious thing in my life”. he’s communicated with us over the years in quiet ways, leaving messages for us, even remembering the international fans. (x,x). He uses names for us that he would use for his family, and refers to us as home, which is even more meaningful when you remember that his real family is small and he’s moved around so many times in his life that he’s never truly had a place to call home.

If the only reason you can give me for disliking him is that he left exo nearly a year ago, then that’s your problem, but I feel sorry for you. being so resentful of someone’s pursuit of happiness and comfort has got to be really exhausting.

He's such a lovely person. I honestly don't get why people don't like him. To each their own I guess. :/
