i just want to know how does this bank to bank money transfer works internationally...?

like... i'm from Philippines... if ever i wanted to transfer from the other country.. let say Korea...

 can they do it with a Philippine bank (ex. BPI, BDO,) and transfer it to Korean bank??

and do i need to have a dollar acct to do so?
