Your POV

As I made my way to our hotel during this 5 days 4 nights trip, I was mesmerised by the beauty around me. Being one that loves nature, I enjoyed the crystal clear blue sea, the beautiful corals that lay underneath and the amazing sea creatures. It was simply breath taking. Adding on to that, the evergreen trees surrounding the island and of course, the beautiful sky.

“It’s beautiful,” I finally said to break the silence between us.

“I’m really glad that you like it and don't worry, I've got the trip covered,” Kai said after I asked him about our itinerary.

“Really? What’re we going to do?”

“Just trust me on this,”

Author POV

For the first day, both you and Kai went to walk around the island as you both wanted to get a good sense of where you’re staying for the next 5 days. It was a beautiful island and you loved it very much. Since it was the first day, you both decided to retire to bed early as you were still a little jet lagged.

“I can't wait to see what Kai has planned for us,” you giggle in excitement before you went to bed.

“Rise and shine,” Kai greeted you the next morning.

Both of you were bursting with energy and were looking forward to the day ahead. You were especially excited as you were filled with suspense as to what Kai has installed for you today. What you didn’t know was that Kai had the trip specially planned so that the activities that the two of you did would bring you closer as a couple.

Kai POV

Today, he had planned for the both of you to go for a walk in the forest since you loved looking around the island so much. It was more of a relaxing walk, not a hike as it would be too tiring and I didn’t think that it would be an appropriate activity for a honeymoon. The two of us in the forest together. Just the two of us.  It'll definitely bring us closer. Please let my plan work.

“We’re going on a forest trail?” ~~~ asked.

“Yeah, you ok with it?” I asked.

“Yupp,” she replied.

Hmm, she doesn’t seem as excited as I expected. I hope she likes it.

As soon as we reached, ~~~ asked me, “Aren’t we getting a guide?”

“No, I don’t think we need one as the forest isn’t that dense and they since I'm an experienced trekker, I would be able to find the way out,”

“Ohh. Are you sure?”

“Yes. Are you ok? You seem worried. Maybe we should just get a guide,”

“No, no, it’s okay. Let’s do this. It'll be good for the both of us,”

~~~ took a deep breath before cautiously entering the forest. She seemed bothered about something but she’s not telling me. I thought this walk would be relaxing for us but she seemed to be on alert for something and I can't figure out what it was. She walked pretty fast too. It was far from a relaxing walk. Lunch time soon approached and we both decided to head back out as we were both tired and famished. I was talking to her about what we should eat when ~~~ suddenly stopped in her tracks.

“What’s wrong?” I asked as I turned to look at her.

Her face was ash grey. She slowly lifted her hand and pointed to something on a tree. Now I know why she was always scanning the forest, looking for something. She had a fear of snakes. I went back to her and told her that it wasn’t a poisonous snake. It can't harm her.

“It’s still a snake! I can't do it. No, what if it drops on me or it moves closer. Look! Its moving!!” ~~~ said and I could see that she was freaking out. Her hand was suddenly clutching my hand and she gripped it really tightly. I couldn’t help but smile a little at this. I felt like she needed to be protected at this moment. Protected by me.

“We’ll do this together, ok? I won’t let the snake harm you, I promise,” I said to assure her that nothing would happen to her.

~~~ was still hesitant about it.

“Why don’t you close your eyes? That way, you can't see the snake,” I suggested.

“No, that would just make things worse. I can do this. Why don’t we just run for it? It'll be faster,” ~~~ said.

“Okay, on the count of three. One, two, three!” I said and we both ran for our lives out of the forest, hand in hand. Never once did she let go of my hand and I gripped tight when I felt her hand slipping. We finally got back to where we started and we stopped running to catch out breaths. As I was catching my breath, I couldn’t help but thank the snake as it made me and ~~~ closer, literally.
