Bonus chapter

Comfort zone

Sunggyu freed his arms from the girl’s grip and made his way to the counter. He really liked coming to the club, but somehow the incessant flirting annoyed him. He couldn’t say he wasn’t flattered by it, but sometimes he just wanted to spend a night drinking and laughing with his friends without having to run away from overconfident students.

He sat on a stool next to Sungyeol and ordered a drink. Just when he was about to get a bill out of his jeans’ pocket, his friend paid for him. He cocked an eyebrow at him. The other looked at him with an innocent look on his face. And Sunggyu knew too well that when Lee Sungyeol looked innocent, he was exactly the contrary.

“Okay, so what do you want from me?”

The other tried to look shocked, but of course the elder could not believe it one second. “What do you mean, hyung? Can’t I just pay you a drink?”

Sunggyu scoffed. “No, you never just pay me a drink.” However, when he realized the other was not going to tell him that easily, he let it go. His friend could never keep secrets for long and he would soon know what he wanted. And I’m not going to complain about free drinks.

His brain processed that sentence and it clicked. Wait.

He downed his drink and ordered another. This time, Myungsoo appeared on his right side and paid for the drink. Of course, the boy had to be in it too. One could not have an ‘evil plan’ – their own words – without involving the other.

He took a sip on his new drink and smirked. He didn’t really care what those two wanted, but if that meant he could get free drinks for the whole night, he was definitely not going to say no.

The night went on, with Sunggyu drinking for free and talking to the other two, even though they sometimes had weird conversations. But his mind was getting way too dizzy to care about any of that.

At one point, Myungsoo turned to him and asked the question, an amused smile on his handsome face. “Hyung, do you want to make a bet?”

Sunggyu chuckled. There it goes. However, their plan worked because he nodded. A sober Sunggyu would have never nodded to that kind of proposition.

The smile on Myungsoo’s face grew larger and he could see from the corner of his eye Sungyeol smile as well. But who cared? The music was good, his head was buzzing nicely and the air was filled with that smell of smoke that he liked so much.

“What about…” Myungsoo seemed to think about it for a moment, tapping his index on his chin. “What about the first one to make Hoya admit he has a crush on Dongwoo wins?”

Sunggyu couldn’t help but laugh at that. That kind of bet was so typical of Myungsoo and Sungyeol – kind of useless, really. Because, honestly, it didn’t really matter if the guy admitted it or not, everybody was already aware of it. But then, he thought of how easily he could get that confession from his friend. A bit of pressure, maybe just an ounce of blackmail and it would be done. Too easy, really.

His eyes drifted between his two friends. “Before I agree, what is the punishment?”

“Nothing much for you, really.” He looked at Myungsoo, cocking an eyebrow. “You just have to seduce Sungyeol-ah’s roommate. He’s really annoying because he keeps locking himself up in the room and, apparently, someone is tired of seeing him all the time.” He rolled his eyes at the mention of his friend’s stupidity and Sunggyu couldn’t hold back his chuckle. But, when he thought the other was done, Myungsoo quickly added: “… following Sungyeol’s plan.”

This time, Sunggyu frowned. “… What?”

Then another glass of that heavenly liquid magically appeared in his hand, he downed it and suddenly, he couldn’t remember why he was frowning anymore.

“What were we saying?”

Myungsoo smiled at him. “The bet.”

“Ah yeah, the bet. Of course, it’s on.”

When he woke up the next morning and remembered the events of the night, he really regretted drinking so much.

* * *

He regretted it even more when, two days later, Myungsoo and Sungyeol barged into his room, screaming that Howon had admitted liking Dongwoo. Hearing that, Sunggyu literally crouched in a corner, his face in his hands. He really felt like crying, suddenly. He knew what was coming…

“So, hyung, come here! Now’s the time to hear my plan!”

That was coming.

“No. I’m staying here and I’m not listening to you!” He put his hands on his ears. “Lalalalalaaaa~” Okay, that wasn’t the most mature reaction he had ever had, but he was desperate, after all. Sungyeol’s plans were never good news. A few seconds passed and Myungsoo came to him, literally dragging him to the couch. Sunggyu looked at Sungyeol, who was wearing one of his trademark grins. Oh how he wanted to punch than grin off of his face. However, he just sighed and decided to listen to him, even though he could probably not stop pouting. It was partly his fault if he was in this situation anyway.

“Okay, so who’s your roommate anyways?”

Quite amazingly, Sungyeol’s grin grew even wider. “His name is Nam Woohyun. Honestly, he’s quite handsome.”

Sunggyu threw him his ‘stop-trying-to-deceive-me-Lee-Sungyeol’ look and the latter held his hands in the air to show his innocence.

“What? I’m saying the truth though! Tell him, Myungsoo-ah!” A few seconds passed in silence and the tall boy turned to look at his friend, who was lost in his thoughts, busy looking through the window. He elbowed him and Myungsoo, surprised, screamed a “Yeah, yeah, you’re right!”

Sunggyu pacepalmed, but apparently that answer was enough for Sungyeol, who looked back at him with a satisfied smile. “So, as I was saying, he’s handsome. But he’s too busy with his stupid computer to find himself someone and I desperately need him to find someone so that he’ll leave our room sometimes and I don’t have to see his face all the time. His handsome face.”

The elder’s expression was blank, listening to his friend’s explanation. He guessed these kinds of arguments only made sense to Sungyeol, because if you asked him, it was stupid. But there was one thing that gained his attention. “Don’t tell me you thought of me because he spends all his time on his computer and you thought I was used to this kind of behavior since I study computer science.”

“Eerr…”

He massaged his temples and sighed. Sometimes, he wondered why he went through all the trouble of being friends with Sungyeol. At least, Myungsoo-ah is more normal. He looked over to the other boy, who was still gazing through the window. Okay… maybe not. He shook his head to wash away his thoughts. “Anyways, go on. What’s your brilliant plan?”

“Okay, so he’s gay, but he doesn’t want to admit it yet.”

This time, Sunggyu couldn’t help but laugh. “Seriously? And what am I supposed to do about that? Tell him ‘hey mate, you’re gay, just admit it already’?”

Sungyeol threw his arms in the air in frustration. “Hyung! Why are you reacting like that?! Just do like you always do, everyone always like you!”

The elder rolled his eyes. “That’s the thing, I don’t do anything! People just keep coming at me and it’s tiring!”

“Oh, cry me a river! It must be soooo hard to be so popular!”

“Yah, you brat! Don’t talk to me in that tone! I’m your elder!”

“Sure, grandpa!”

“Lee Sungyeol-”

Then Myungsoo snapped, probably because the cushion that was aimed at Sungyeol was diverted from its original path by the tall guy and landed in the quiet boy’s face. So Myungsoo took the cushion and started to hit both his friends with so much force that it actually hurt.

“You idiots! Stop yelling at each other and explain the ing plan already, we don’t have all day!” Then, as soon as it came, the anger disappeared and he was back to staring at the sky in a flash.

After a few seconds of silence, the two started to laugh, just like every time their friend had that kind of outburst. After some time, they continued their discussion.

Sunggyu let out a last chuckle. “So, where were we?”

Sungyeol scratched his head in thought then clapped when he remembered. “Yeah! That he’s gay and he doesn’t realize it yet! So, here’s where my plan comes into the scene: you’re going to dress as a girl!” He was wearing a huge smile, as if he was waiting for the elder to praise him and tell him it was an excellent plan.

It didn’t happen.

Sunggyu blinked. Once. Twice. He rubbed his hand on his eyes, praying it was all just a dream. There was really something wrong with Sungyeol’s brain.

“Repeat that?”

“You’re going to dress as a girl!” Sunggyu didn’t know if he should have laughed or cried at the happy face of his friend, who apparently wasn’t getting his discontent.

God, I’m never drinking again…

* * *

Four days later, Sunggyu found himself in Myungsoo’s room. Hopefully, Hoya was out, so he wouldn’t have to face that guy’s laughter. In no more than fifteen minutes, he was forced into a dress too short and too tight for his liking, a wig and high heels. He even found the make-up offensive, even though he was already quite used to wearing some – blame his small eyes.

How was he supposed to flirt with someone, dressed like that? However, before getting out of the door, he took a deep breath and tried to forget his current state and to feel as confident as always. It wasn’t an easy task. But when he walked down the halls of the dorms and saw the stares the guys were giving him, he somehow found his ego again.

When he came in Sungyeol’s room and saw the roommate, he couldn’t help but feel relieved. He wasn’t handsome. He was very y. He would never admit it, but when he heard the guy stutter while asking if he was really a guy, he might have thought for a second that Sungyeol’s plan wasn’t that bad, after all.

And then Woohyun decided to go with them and Sunggyu could he see the frozen look on Sungyeol’s face – apparently, even he didn’t think his plan would work to that extend.

It’s going to be interesting.
