[Sehun POV]

I stopped my car in the basement of her apartment at nine and take the elevator to her floor. I brought tacos in my right hand and beers in my left, planning to have dinner together later. Reaching her room, I entered her new passcode: 1364. She didn’t tell me why she changed her passcode after all this time. Entering her apartment, I found everything is dark as if no one is home at that particular moment.

“Yooran?”

No one answered. I the lamp and find the apartment was empty and quite, unlike how it should be. I put the tacos at the pantry and arrange the beers neatly in her fridge. I was already imagining she would cook for me in silence, not daring to speak until I started to, she will smell like chamomile because she’d spent more time in shower. I walked to her room and find it clean as usually, but some things were missing from her room. I checked her bathroom and laundry room, but she wasn’t there as well.

I walked passed living room when I saw a stack of book, a very unusual view here. She has never put books in a big amount outside her room, she would always put it alphabetically order in her book shelf. Always. I stared at the books for couple of seconds then realized that those books aren’t novel or her study material. The books has black plain cover, except the one at the very top, it has a navy color with some bunch of sparks on its spine.

In the top of the navy book was a piece of paper with some scribble on it. I take the paper and recognized the tidy handwriting, it’s hers.

Hi. The time you read this I’ll be in plane to New York. Will be back in two days. The things I promised are in these books, everything. Seil said to only trust an author’s writing, not her saying, and these books recorded most of my lifetime. All yours to read. See you in two days.

I look at the black covered books, there are ten in total, all dusty and smelled like old books. In the first pages of every books, she wrote the started date and the ended date, the earliest was 2004 and the latest was just this year, all written in ten books. Most of the pages was filled with handwriting and pictures embedded in between with colorful pen decorating each of them. A little amount of pages was written in black ink and no pictures at all.

I take my phone, search for some number and press call.

“Yes?” the other line answered.

“Do I have scheduled for the next three days?” I asked.

“You have one in two days.”

“Can you please reschedule that one, manager-hyung?”

“It’s possible, but, anything happen?”

“No, not really. I just…”
