Heo Youngji sits down on the choreography floor and checks the video of her choreography on her phone. She makes a face. It wasn’t good enough.     Song Mino is beating his head to the beat. He tries to freestyle a rap, but there is something missing. He stops the recording and goes back to his mixer.      “What if I change the choreography around this part?”     “Can you incorporate bass in the song?”       Loud music plays inside the practice room as Youngji goes over her choreography one more time.       The recording studio is quiet while Mino fixes some parts in his rap before recording it.       

 

    “What do you mean, Yang Hyunsuk disapproved it?” Mino slams his headphones on the mixer, clearly frustrated.    “Sorry, Mino-yah. He..” His manager slowly shook his head.   Mino collapses on his chair, “I worked so hard this week.” Mino got up, “Let me see him.”   “I tried, Mino, but he has a fully booked schedule today.”   “I’m tired of this, hyung. I haven’t seen Irene in a week. I don’t even have time to call my parents.” Mino stopped himself before he could go on.   His manager looked at him. Truly, Mino looked tired. His eye bags could be seen through his glasses. His hair was disheveled, “How about you go home for today? I’ll do something about President Yang. Get some rest.”         “Don’t go!” Minguk grabbed onto Youngji’s torso and did not let go.   Youngji looked at her parents and then at Minguk, “Minguk-ah, I’m just going to be right back?”   Minguk grabbed even tighter and rested his head on Youngji’s shoulder, “Umma.” he cried.   Hara and Mrs. Heo surrounded the two. The two exchanged worried looks.   Youngji held onto Minguk and stood up, “I can’t go today.”   “Youngji!” Hara said.   Mrs. Heo places her hands on Minguk’s back, “Minguk-ah, should we go watch some Robocar Poli?”   Minguk only shakes his head furiously.   “It’s okay. There are other chances.” Youngji says with a small smile.   “Youngji, you know there aren’t that many chances for dancers to audition for YG Entertainment.” Hara refutes.   “But, Minguk.”         Mino falls onto his couch. Just like what his manager recommended, he took a long shower and a nap. He spent the whole night perfecting his tracks only to have Yang Hyun Suk reject them in a few hours.   He looks towards his small music space he made in his apartment. He was frustrated, stressed and angry. Frustrated because no one could help him, but himself. Stressed because of the time he was given. Angry because he knew Yang Hyun Suk had an ear for musicality and Mino could not fulfill his standards. Ultimately, he was angry at himself. What happened to finding inspiration at the little things? The success from his past album was pressuring him too much and he just need to get away from it.   He unlocks his phone and looks at his recent messages.   cabbage <3   good morning~ when will my boyfriend be released from the studio? I will pay bail.   Mino chuckles at his girlfriend’s cute message. He was so lucky to have her. People were always asking about his ideal type, but someone who understood how demanding his career could be was probably the biggest trait.
