Destiny has two ways of crushing us - by refusing our wishes and by fulfilling them.

« I’m so sorry that I can’t spend it with you baby girl, I’ll make it up to you later” As her father said those words to her he got her back 14 years back when he used to be a workaholic and missed her special occasions so easily, promising to make it up to her, she would cry herself to sleep every time he tells her that, come to think of it , he didn’t have time for her special day will he have THAT time later? Surely not, because he never stayed true to his promise, he never made it up to her, but Now she’s supposedly Old enough to understand him, but she couldn’t help but feel disappointed all over again, why? Maybe because it’s not because of his work anymore, it was his new wife restraining him from his own daughter

Fine! Be it like that, I’ve had enough of this anyway

“It’s okay Appa! I’ll be fine, maybe next time?” she tried to sound as cheerful as she can

Then the line went dead

She sighed and walked aimlessly, back to where he was sitting with a coffee in her hand

‘My Birthday is only Two weeks away, why must he ruin it, Appa seriously’ she thought in her mind

She didn’t notice when her grip loosened and the cup fell from her hand

Startled, she looked around her finding everybody on the shooting location was looking at her in shock, her face dropped in disappointment she looked up and made an eye contact with him she bowed a little

“I’ll get another one” she weakly said

His manager was furious with her “That little rascal, she doesn’t know how to be respectful does she?” He was about to follow and scold her but Yonghwa held him back

“Let her be! She’s a newbie, don’t be too hard on her” He defended her

“I don’t know how I’m supposed to leave you into her hands! She’s too clumsy” The manager huffed

“Then be gentle with her and train her well, so when you leave me, you won’t get too worried” Yonghwa chuckled

“Okay! I’ll be good to her for you! Who knows maybe what we see in the movies happen and you fall in love with her, she’s a good girl after all! And very beautiful too, to say the truth” Bruce but he won’t just let it slip like that

“Oh, should I?” Yonghwa teased back

“Very funny! Who knows what’s gonna happen! I’m leaving to take care of my pregnant wife, don’t call me too soon to invite me to your wedding! I might not attend”

“Well too bad for you hyung, you’ll miss the view of us kissing on the altar” Yonghwa wriggled his eyebrows

“Aiish this kid, brace yourself, behave or I’m gonna tell the poor young girl that you’re one ert actor” Bruce felt all goose bumpy

Yonghwa excused himself and walked up to see what’s wrong with Seohyun, she was usually so lively that she flips the shooting location upside down with her hyper personality

He found her by  the coffee table filling his cup but seems like she was distracted that the cup was already full and she would spill it, he held her wrist abruptly to stop her and she snapped out of her thoughts

“Ah, Yonghwa-ssi” she bowed at him “I’m sorry”

“A penny for your thoughts” he smiled slightly at her

“Nothing important… sorry for the trouble Yonghwa-ssi” She bowed again and noticed that he was still holding her wrist, and seems like he realized it too as he eased his hand off her in instant, she coughed awkwardly and handed him the cup of warm coffee

“You seem so distracted though, it doesn’t seem unimportant” he said and took a sip of coffee, his expression softened as his favorite taste settled on his taste buds and the aroma filled his nostrils

“It won’t happen again, I promise to be professional in my work” she stiffly said making him chuckle

“Listen to me Joohyun-ah! We’re alone here, so I want you treat me as your friend okay?! I really wanna build a strong bond with you, so we can work better together in the future when my manager leaves… I don’t like you to be awkward with me at all, just relax and I want you to share your thoughts with me… as my manager you’ll get a hold on a part of my life and know everything about me, even my inner thoughts be it personal or professional… so let’s build a good trust between us” he patted her shoulder as she listened him attentively

“I-I really-y d-don’t--” she was perplexed, her birthday dilemma and then Yonghwa’s gentle words that sent the butterflies in her stomach berserk

“Then, shouldn’t you at least tell me just this once, I wanna feel even with you, I’ve been feeling all embarrassed to get rejected and get watched by you” he scratched the back of his neck embarrassedly as he reminisced that fateful day

{Flashback}

“What? Why do you care?” Jimin snapped at him

“I said stop hanging around him! I really hate it” he snarled

“It’s not your life to decide! I hang around whoever I like, does it concern you? I don’t think so! So I don’t see any reason for you to be so worked up” she eyes his disgustingly

“IT’S BECAUSE I LIKE YOU” he finally let it out

“You like me you said! Now that may make sense, but I can’t accept your feelings” she said arrogantly and wanted to leave but he stopped her

“Wae?” he asked softly

“Look! I don’t want to look as the bad person here, but I must reveal something too, I like Seunghyub… annio! I love him! So could you please step aside? I’ve had enough trying to chase after him and then deal with you on the other hand! You’re being just a bumpy rock on my way” She easily said, and left but this time he didn’t stop her, he didn’t need any more of her hurtful words

He walked angrily towards the door, just then he heard a box falling down and a jerk afterwards he turned and went towards that direction, as he arrived he saw the trembling figure of a thin girl looking at him wide eyed, she was his new manager and was still under training till his manager leaves

“Had a good show?” he snapped at her

“Y-yonghwa-ssi! I’m sorry! I d-didn’t m-mean” she bowed her head and flushed crimson

“Forget it! Go back to your work and don’t hang around the corners and make sure to keep your mouth sealed about what you’ve just heard” He didn’t wait for her answer and just left fuming in anger, disappointment and embarrassment

{End of flashback}

“Sorry, for that day I didn’t mean to eavesdrop on you” she felt guilty for him

“No, I’m sorry for snapping at you it wasn’t your fault” he shook his head

“I broke up with my fiancé too” She suddenly said

“Uh?” he didn’t expect that from her

“That very same day, I broke up with my fiancé! So I understand your feelings” she smiled briefly

“Can I ask why?” he was curious more than ever

“He cheated, I was so upset that I thought I’d go crazy… but the more I think about it, he was unworthy of my feelings anyway!” she started telling
