He stopped his car in front of her building. The dashboard showed him that it was very early in the morning and he glanced toward her unit, where it was all dark and empty. She was never like the darkness. He sighed slowly as he rested his chin atop of the steering, eyes never leaving the pad where he was once almost an occupant as well. Finally closing his eyes, all the memories played in front of him like a strip of an unending movie. This was the time and place where he allowed himself to break. She didn’t need to know the truth behind his words and acts but he wished for her to feel what was left unsaid and unfinished. Early morning within his heavily tinted car outside of where it used to be, tears rolled down his cheeks while the memoirs played inside him until it was time to stop. They ended.
