The start of a new season will arrive soon. The weather was getting warmer from the usual winter air, the flowers were beginning to bloom to their natural beauty, and it was a time to be new.

Hyejeong has seen Mina come in and out of her house a lot whenever Hyejeong went outside to collect her mail. Mina would always wave at her from a distance and smile, and it would overwhelm Hyejeong inside, but she would grin and wave back. She'd debate whether or not to finally interact with this new girl who moved into her neighborhood a month ago now. If she did, how would she talk to her? She doesn't know Mina that well. Besides, whenever she sees her, her heart skips a beat and her cheeks flush pink, even though she doesn't want to believe that she's falling for Mina. She didn't know what to do.

Hyejeong closed the door behind her at the front door, shuffling through the mail seeing what she's gotten. She shuffles through it until she sees an pink envelope, sent by her mother. She thought it was odd for her mother to send her anything, but she opened the envelope. In it, she opens a pastel pink piece of paper with writing that said:

I know it's not common for me to write to you. Hell, it's not common for me to write letters at all. I mostly just text you for anything. 

But I decided to write to you, anyway. I've gotten a new job working at this local magazine as an editor, and I make good money out of it. Your father's been traveling a lot because of his business trips. Last week, we went to Vegas for about three days, and was that a lot of fun. Overall, we've just been fine.  

Baby, I know it's been a long time since your best friend died. I know you're going through some , but all I want for you is to be happy. I can't do anything to make you happy, but that's all I want from you. I hear the flower festival for you is coming up. You love flowers, why don't you check it out? If you do, let me know, okay?

She actually thought about the festival now that it's coming up in a few days. But she didn't know if she should go alone. Usualy, she would, but she has another idea.

Hyejeong steps outside and walks to Mina's house. As she approached the door, she stoppd herself from knocking on the door and began to have second thoughts. What if Mina thought she was weird? She didn't want to creep her out, they rarely knew each other. After a few minutes though, she let out a deep breath, letting the nervousness go away, and knocked on the door. She waited for a few moments until Mina opened the door. She gave a big smile and leaned against the side of the door, saying, "This is a surprise." Hyejeong laughed weakly and scratched the back of her head, looking down awkwardly. "Yeah, I just... wanted to ask...", she let out, looking at Mina as she put her hands behind her back. "Hmm?", she uttered. "There's this flower festival coming up and I was wondering if you would like to come with me?", Hyejeong asked quietly, mentally preparing herself in case she got rejected. Mina's eyes opened wide for a bit and smiled politely, and replied, "Yeah, I'll go with you. When is it?l

"In a couple days. Always the first day of spring."

Mina stood up from leaning against te side of the door and went inside her house, looking around for something. Just then she comes back with a pen and paper, scribbling something on the paper. "Here's my number. Text me when you're ready that day or before, okay?", she said as she brightly grinned at Hyejeong. Mina gave her the paper and went back into her house, closing the door. 

And the start of the new season will begin for Hyejeong.
