Minseok looks terribly out of place in Luhan’s and Jongdae’s living room, in his delivery uniform and how he always checks his watch.

„Guys, I really need to go work, you can’t just lock me up in here!“

Jongdae snorts and folds his arms. „I won’t let you go until you tell me what’s going on. Since when do you deliver food?“

„Since I needed another job.“ Minseok says, dismissively.

Jongdae is sceptic and Luhan decent enough to leave them alone.

„And why do you need another job? Did something happen?“

„What’s wrong about a man trying to earn money?“

Jongdae sighs and nudges his shoulder. „Minseok I know you. Working as a delivery boy is the last thing you’d voluntarily do. That’s too much social contact for you.“

Minseok groans and tries to stand up. „I really need to get back to work.“

„Then just tell me what’s wrong!“

„Nothing is wrong, Jesus Christ, I just need the ing money!“

„Luhan called Yixing. He said you were totally out of it when you got home. Is it about your finals? Did you fail?“

Minseok blinks before he, almost in disbelieve, shakes his head. „As if I would fail.“ He snorts. „Stop getting into my business, Jongdae. Honestly.“

„Min-“

„Just… let me get back? I’ll tell you. Later.“

„Promise?“

Minseok just rolls his eyes and makes his way to the door.

„Whatever. Just stop worrying.“

Jongdae doesn’t respond and Minseok leaves.

„That was weird.“  Luhan says as he flops himself down next to Jongdae and pulls him on his lap. Jongdae shrugs.

„The last time he was this aggressive was when they offered him to go abroad for a semester. He freaked and then declined.“

„He’s such a weird guy.“

„Just a little.“

Jongdae stretches out and reaches for their food.

„I think we forgot to pay him“ Luhan mumbles as he helps Jongdae get it.

Jongdae chuckles. „He should’ve been nicer to his customers.“

The next time they see Minseok comes surprisingly soon. It’s around midnight, the same day, and Luhan is almost asleep while Jongdae still has to finish an essay since he’s not in his last year yet.

But then, somebody disturbs Luhan’s beauty sleep and Jongdae’s work by ringing the door bell.

When Jongdae goes open the door he’s not even surprised that it’s his bashful looking best friend standing in the door frame.

He just lets him in.

Minseok doesn’t quite look up as Jongdae sits down next to him.

„Talk.“

„Well.“  He clears his throat.

„Yes?“

„I still don’t understand why you gotta make such a big deal out of everything.“

„I’m an actor, that’s basically what my job is.“

„Will be.“

„Whatever. Don’t deflect.“

Minseok plays with the sleeve of his hoodie before he looks up for once.

„It’s nothing, really. I just… well. I told you I’d like to continue studying to get a better diploma. And I kind of got offered a scholarship.“

Jongdae blinks. „But… that’s awesome? I mean, wow, congratulations! And I thought you failed your finals.“

Minseok bites his lower lip. „The university it’s for is not in Korea.“

Jongdae looks up immediately. „… Oh.“

„Yeah, exactly,“ the older man mumbles as he leans back. He looks kind of defeated.

„And…“ Jongdae clears his throat. „Where is it?“

„Japan.“

„Well, that’s not too far away, and…“

„But it’s still far away! And my Japanese is terrible plus I don’t-“

Minseok lifts his head and Jongdae is taken a back because he actually looks scared.

„Is it because of Yixing?“

„Yeah. Mostly. I’m scared that he won’t understand or think my career is more important to me than he is. Plus… I don’t want to be without him for 2 years. That’s not gonna work out and I don’t want to break up with him. I don’t hink… I won’t accept the scholarship. I just can’t.“

Jongdae frowns a bit. „Why do I think that he would be really upset if you declined the offer.“

„Because he keeps telling you that he loves me and you are one of those helpless romantics who thinks that love makes a person selfless.“

„But isn’t it true?“

„I wish it weren’t.“ Minseok sighs. „I don’t want to break this off. He… I don’t think I’ve ever been this in love with someone. And my thought is, you know, I’ll have opportunities to go to university everywhere, because have you seen my grades? Yeah. I don’t care if the faculty in Japan is better than all the others. I’ll find a place to study but I’ll never find someone like him.“

„Have you even talked it out with him?“

Minseok stills and shakes his head. „I was kinda anxious.“

„I figured. And that’s why you start stupid jobs.“

„Hey, money is money.“

„You should talk about it. Ask him what he thinks. Maybe he’d like to come with you.“

„But he still needs to finish his studies. I can’t do that to him.“

Jongdae sighs and pats his shoulder.

„Just ask him. What could possibly go wrong?“

„He could think I’m a selfish bastard and break up with me.“

„Phh. As if. Why are you so insecure?“

Minseok blushes and doesn’t look at Jongdae. „I’ve already told you. Because I really, really love him.“

„And you don’t know what to do. I… Minseok I have no idea how you feel because this is probably the biggest step of your life so far, but Yixing has done all that before. I mean, he already moved to Korea, why wouldn’t he also move to Japan if he loves you this much? I don’t think I would hesitate if Luhan asked me to go away with him. Even if I still had university to finish. There’s always a way. And I just refuse to let someone dictate me my priorities. If my boyfriend is more important to me than my studies,

who the cares. I’m gonna end up broke anyways, like every artist does.“

That makes Minseok laugh and he leans his head on Jongdae’s shoulder. „I’ll try. Talking to Yixing I mean. And if he doesn’t want to I’ll just stay here. No big deal.“

„That’s the Minseok I know.“ Jongdae smirks and ruffles his hair.

„By the way, Jongdae. You guys owe me money.“

Jongdae laughs and shakes his head. „Forget it. You were so rude. And now go home and make out with Yixing or something. He probably misses you or is worried. Even I know him that well.“

Minseok pouts but stands up and mumbles a thank you before he waves a quick good bye and leaves.

Jongdae stares at the closed door and then at his almost finished essay for a while.

His best friend is definitely something.

He decides to call it a day and go to sleep.

Jongdae changes and gets ready for bed, cuddling to his sleeping boyfriend and enjoying his warmth. Luhan unconsciously wraps his arms around Jongdae and pulls him in and Jongdae closes his eyes.

It dawns to him that he didn’t only say those things just to calm Minseok down.

He loves Luhan so much he’d be willing to give up his life and follow him everywhere, just to be with him.

Jongdae ignores the thoughts, thoughts telling him that it’s stupid to love someone this much.

So he just goes to sleep.

The next morning, Luhan wakes him with a kiss to the nose. Jongdae blinks and yawns as he reaches out his arms to pull Luhan close for a hug. Then he realizes Luhan is already dressed and ready to go. Jongdae pouts. „What time is it?“

Luhan smiles and kisses his cheek. „It’s 9. There’s coffee for you in the kitchen and I need to go to work. Have fun at your classes today.“

Jongdae grumbles something and sits up to pull Luhan in his arms.

„Thanks for waking me up. When do you get off today?“

„Around five.“ Luhan smiles and cuddles him. „I’ll miss you.“

„You’re so cheesy.“ Jongdae chuckles and Luhan smirks as he stands up and grabs his bag.

„See you!“

„See you.“

Jongdae cuddles back into the blanket again, his classes don’t start until 12 and he hugs Luhan’s pillow because he’s addicted to his scent.

He feels quite comfortable like this, everything seems and looks and feels like a solid adult life he’s having, with a person he loves, with some income, he’d expected everything to be a lot harder, a lot more troublesome. But the puzzle falls together easily and Luhan has become a constant, the fix point that keeps everything together.

Maybe it’s farfetched, but Jongdae would go so far and say that he is happy.

He hopes Luhan is, too.

The train he takes to campus is pretty crowded this morning and Jongdae does his best not to be offended when the 8th person rams their bag into his chest.

He just sends around mean looks, hoping to target the right people.

And then he stops.

Because on the other side of the wagon, there stands a tall, lanky boy, hair bleached almost white and he stares at Jongdae with a piercing gaze.

Jongdae knows him from somewhere, he just can’t quite match him. The only thing he knows is that the guy gives him quite an uneasy feeling.

He quickly looks away, deciding not to pay any more attention but he had to step back to let some passengers out at the next station and then he is forced to look into the boy’s direction.

He had somehow come closer.

And now he’s so close that there are only two people separating them.

And he is still staring, Jongdae almost feels violated.

And tough luck, the two people in between them both get out at the next stop.

The boy smirks and Jongdae demonstratively pulls out his phone to text Luhan.

„Hey, I think we’ve met before.“

Damn.

Jongdae pretends not to have heard but then the boy puts his arm to the wall, next to Jongdae’s head and he looks up.

„It’s not really polite to ignore people who try to chat you up.“

Jongdae frowns. „I don’t want you to chat me up.“

„Aw, but why?“ The boy tilts his head and smiles at Jongdae, he almost looks friendly.

„Why would I?“

„Mhm… why not?“

Jongdae rolls his eyes but then it clicks. He remembers the boy. He’s the one who tried hitting on Jongdae when they went on the double date with Yixing and Minseok.

Jongdae’s eyes widen and he hears the boy chuckle.

„So you do remember me. I couldn’t stop thinking of you.“

If only Luhan knew, Jongdae thinks and shakes his head. „I already told you that I’m not interested.“

The boy simply ignores that. „Your personal bodyguard isn’t here with you this time?“

„He’s not my bodyguard, he’s my boyfriend. And I wish he was, maybe you’d stop harassing me then.“

The boy pouts, actually pouts and Jongdae is more than confused.

„I don’t mean to harass you, I’m sorry. I just want to get to know you. My name is Sehun. You’re Jongdae, right? It’s nice to meet you.“

Jongdae stares at the hand in front of him, then back into the boy’s face. „Didn’t you hear me? I have a boyfriend. I don’t think you really want to get to know me.“

„I’m not that shallow!“ Sehun exclaims and now he looks excited, waving his hand up and down. „Maybe one day you won’t have a boyfriend anymore and then I’ll be there to comfort you and make everything up! I bet I’m better than him any-“

„Will you shut up? You’re such a brat, jesus. I have to get out.“

Jongdae turns to the door and jumps down the stairs of the train but the tall figure of the boy is right next to him.

Jongdae sends him an annoyed gaze.

„You are aware that this qualifies as both stalking and ual harassment? How old are you even, do you want to get into prison before you graduate high school?“

„I’m 20!“ the boy exclaims, excitedly. „I’m already going to college and I’m good at what I do.“

„Yeah? Good for you. Now leave me alone.“

„Can I at least give you my number?“

Jongdae shoots him a glance and quickens his steps but the boy grabs his sleeve. „Please?“

„Give me your number all you want, I’ll throw it away.“

Sehun, or whatever the boy’s name is, makes Jongdae stop and looks at him, gaze hopeful. „Please please please please, hyung. Let me give you my number.“

Jongdae groans, desperate and annoyed and flicks his phone.

„ing fine. I’ll never call you, anyways.“

„I’m sure you will,“ Sehun squeals and quickly types in his number. He winks at Jongdae and runs back to the train station to catch his ride.

Jongdae stares after him in disbelieve and then at his phone.

He has a new contact called Sehunnie with a heart behind it.

Jongdae is so confused he forgets to delete it.

He meets Yixing somewhen around lunch and sits him down to talk.

„Has Minseok told you everything?“

Yixing looks at Jongdae, a little taken aback. „Told me everything? About?“

Jongdae groans and drops his head to the table. „This guy I swear. Sorry. I didn’t say anything. How are your noodles?“

But obviously, Yixing doesn’t let it go. „Stop talking about noodles and tell me what’s going on. Minseok talked to you but keeps it a secret from me? What happened?“

Jongdae almost whines because he realizes, only now, that maybe, confronting Yixing wasn’t the best idea.

„It’s nothing, nothing bad, I promise. But he should tell you first.“

Yixing stares Jongdae down.

„Ugh. You’re terrible. You guys are all freaking weird. But I’ll ask Minseok tonight and I’ll tell him what you said. Be prepared.“

Sighing, Jongdae nods. „I just wanted to be a good friend and that’s what happens.“

Yixing pats his back. „If you don’t think so well, don’t think so much. I appreciate the gesture though.“ He sighs. „Maybe I’ll leave your name out. Minseok seems uneasy, really uneasy. I just want things to be normal again. I’d do anything for him, why doesn’t he know that?“ Yixing looks at Jongdae, eyes wide. „He doesn’t doubt us, does he? Please tell me that’s not it, I really don’t want him to think that there’s anything wrong between us and-“

„No no no!“ Jongdae quickly says while shaking his head. „That’s not it. Absolutely not. He loves you. He loves you very much. You’re basically everything he talks about.“

Yixing swallows. „Okay. I’ll try… not to make myself go crazy.“

Jongdae smiles and nods quickly. „It’s fine. He stresses too much about something, like always.“

Yixing chuckles and starts eating his noodles.

Jongdae sits on the sofa that evening, around 5, when Luhan comes home. He looks a little bit exhausted but the way his face lights up when he sees his boyfriend typing away on the laptop makes it up.

„Hey Baby.“

Jongdae looks up and smiles, jumps up and kisses Luhan hello. „How was work?“

„The usual. I earned money. That’s the important part.“

Jongdae chuckles and pulls him to the sofa.

„You hungry?“ Luhan shakes his head as he takes a look at the document Jongdae has opened.

„You’re writing a script?“

„Yup, for a final. We got prompts and have to make something out of it. The one I got is crutches.“

„Crutches? Literally?“

„Nah, at least that’s what I decided to do. I use it as a metaphor. It’s probably a little corny but I like the idea. People as crutches.

I’m writing about a woman and the people who help her through life. All kinds of stuff.“

„That sounds pretty interesting, actually.“

Jongdae chuckles.

„I hope so. I really want to get an A for this, I love writing scripts.“

Luhan smiles and slides his fingers through Jongdae’s hair as he watches him write.

„I applied for an internship today, by the way. At a psychological faculty.“

„Wow, that’s amazing! Do you think they’ll accept you?“

Luhan shrugs. „I really hope so? I need to do an internship before I can become a real doctor, so if that doesn’t work I’ll maybe apply in a hospital. But the pay there is a lot worse. So…“

Jongdae leans forward and kisses his cheek. „I’m really, really proud of you. You’re a real adult.“

Luhan chuckles. „I’m getting old. I need to start acting my age.“

Jongdae rolls his eyes but still smiles. „But you look like a baby anyways, so no need to freak out.“

„I wasn’t!“ Luhan chuckles and wraps his arms around Jongdae who has given up on writing his script for now. „I like being an adult. And doing adult things.“

„Oh?“ Jongdae wiggles his eyebrows and lets Luhan pull him onto his lap. „Adult things like what?“

Luhan tilts his head and cups Jongdae’s face in his hands and carefully pulls him closer before he kisses him. Jongdae’s eyes flutter shut and he leans into the touch.

„Like this.“ Luhan whispers and brushes his lips against Jongdae’s again and the latter feels a shiver run through his body as he kisses Luhan back, burying his hands in Luhan’s hair.

Luhan’s hands wander down his back to rest on his hip and he holds him close as their lips move against each other.

They are so caught up in each other that both of them twitch when Jongdae’s phone buzzes.

„Ugh.“ Jongdae groans and leans his forehead against Luhan’s, eyes still closed. He smiles. „Sorry, I need to remember putting it on silent mode.“

Luhan chuckles and ruffles his hair as he reaches for Jongdae’s phone and hands it to him. „You’ve got a mail.“

„Probably some junk.“

Jongdae quickly grabs his phone and skims through the mail. And then he starts smiling.

„Or maybe not.“

„Huh?“

Jongdae chuckles. „Youtube notification. We’ve got 10,000 subbies.“

Luhan blinks. „Does that mean we have to film this video you promised.“

Jongdae nods quickly and he looks super happy, it makes Luhan laugh. „You get so excited about this, it’s cute.“

„Well, it’s a proof that I’m a good actor! It’s perfect practice for me!“

Luhan chuckles and kisses his cheek. „I know baby.“

„And you like it, too. You love showing off, so don’t pretend.“ He flicks Luhan’s forehead and jumps up from Luhan’s lap to prepare the camera.

„And oh, Luhan, you can do the introduction.“

„Yay!“

Jongdae laughs.

„Yo yo yo everybody, what’s up?“ Luhan says, in english, as he slides into the picture on his swivel chair, a brilliant smile on his lips.

„My name is Luhan and …“ He points to the side where Jongdae jumps into the picture, sitting down on Luhan’s lap.

„My name is Chen and since we reached an incredible 10,000 subscribers today we have planned something… well.“

He looks at Luhan and smiles. „Special. Something special!“

Luhan nods and looks at the camera again. „Due to popular demand we will be doing the boyfriend tag! As a little thank you. And yeah, while we’re at it, many of you have guessed it, many of you wanted a statement and here we are. This guy here.“ He points at Jongdae and accidentally pokes his cheek. „Hey!“ Luhan chuckles and lowers his head. „Sorry. What I wanted to say is…“

„That we’re a couple. A real couple with all the couple stuff. So now you can stop assuming things and stop trying to get into my boyfriend’s pants.“

„Or in my boyfriend’s pants.“

„Yeah, so, anyways.“

Jongdae chuckles and grabs his phone. „As a short explanation, we’re going to ask each other questions about our relationship and ourselves and if one of us gets something wrong… then…“ he looks at Luhan and shrugs his shoulders.

Luhan smirks. „I’ll think of a punishment. For the loser. For you.“

„Hey!“ Jongdae pouts and nudges his shoulder. „I am so going to win this!“

„Pshh, in your dreams!“

Luhan rolls his eyes to the camera but chuckles. „Okay so, hurry up ChenChen. First question.“

„Yeah so… where did we first meet?“

Luhan wraps his arms around Jongdae’s waist and grins. „That’s pretty easy. Backstage at that musical, in the changing room.“

Jongdae laughs and nods. „You scared the out of me back then with your pretty costume.“

Luhan rolls his eyes and turns his head to bite Jongdae’s ear lobe, earning a squeal. „You can’t do that on camera!“

Luhan just winks. „That’s a point for me, ChenChen. Okay, next question. Where was our first date?“

Jongdae puffs his cheeks.

„That’s… we never really had a first date. Maybe that once you came to my table in the cafeteria? That was like the first normal conversation we had.“

Luhan nods slowly. „I guess that counts.“

Jongdae makes a happy sound and turns to the questions again.

„Oh, I like the next one!“ Jongdae beams. „What was your first impression of me?“

Luhan leans his chin on Jongdae’s shoulder. „Well, to be honest…“ he chuckles. „I though you were kind of boring.“

„EXCUSE YOU?“ Jongdae pouts and shakes his head.

„This is not what I wanted to hear, . Well, I thought you were pretty rude.“

Luhan grins. „I was pretty rude, but here we are. And you still love me.“

Jongdae rolls his eyes and flicks his forehead. „Next question. Do I have any weird obsessions, if so- what?“

Luhan snorts. „Everything Shakespeare and Brecht. It’s embarrassing how much you love them.“

„At least I’m cultured!“ Jongdae chuckles. „For you… you like watching reality TV and analyzing the people. You used to write essays about them, for practice.“

Luhan coughs. „I’m dedicated, and? It’s just practice.“ He looks at the screen of Jongdae’s phone. „You always get the easy questions. How long have we been together?“

„Five months and… some days?“ Jongdae nervously chuckles.

Luhan thinks about it for a moment. „You’re lucky I didn’t count the days, either. Okay, next one. What was the first thing you noticed about- I don’t think I want you to answer this on camera.“ Luhan blinks but Jongdae laughs.

„Oh no no no, I’m not passing that one up. The first thing I noticed about you. Mhm, I think It was your pretty blue dress. And your lovely pony tails. And oh, s.“

Luhan whines and nudges Jongdae’s shoulder. „I was playing a really important role, okay? And I looked pretty.“

Jongdae whines and slaps his hand away. „You sure did. He had to substitute his twin sister in a play so he wore a dress. It was fascinating.“

Luhan groans. „Just you wait.“

Jongdae smirks. „Next question! What do we argue about the most?“

Luhan thinks for a moment. „I don’t think we ever had a real argument.“

Jongdae shakes his head and looks up to Luhan. „Not really, nope. That’s super cool actually.“

Luhan nods quickly and pecks his nose. „So… oh“ he chuckles as he looks back at the screen and at the next question. „Who wears the pants in the relationship? That’s me. Definitely me.“

Jongdae blushes immediately. „Ehh, excuse you? I’ve never even worn a dress. I stick to pants.“

„And? You’re the one sitting on my lap.“ Luhan smirks and cuddles him closer.

„Yeah yeah, whatever.“ Jongdae is still a little red and clears his throat. „Mhm… oh! What kind of cake would you bake me for my birthday?“

He looks up at Luhan with his best puppy eye expression and Luhan looks away, for his sanity.

„I don’t think you’d want me to ever bake you a cake. But I’d go buy you one of those ice cream cakes. And pretend I made it on my own.“

Jongdae chuckles and kisses his cheek. „That’s so sweet, you want to keep me from getting food poisoning!“

Luhan coughs and leans to him. „Someday I’ll know how to bake you the best cake ever. Just you wait.“

„Aww, I love you baby. Anyways. Oh. What is something you do that I wish you didn’t?“

Luhan blinks at the questions and chews his lower lip. „That’s tough. Actually… Mhm.“ He looks at Jongdae. „Help me with this one.“

Jongdae his fingers through Luhan’s hair and when he speaks, his voice is soft. „Doubting yourself. You are so insecure sometimes, and you think I don’t see it when you get mad at yourself. I wish… I wish you would talk to me about it instead of keeping everything to yourself. No one expects you to be invincible. Heroes don’t exist and you shouldn’t try being one.“

Luhan looks up and doesn’t know what to say so he just pulls Jongdae close and kisses him and he tries to put the words into the kiss his tongue can’t pronounce. He shouldn’t get too emotional, and Jongdae shouldn’t, either, but when they stop kissing, both of them are breathing hard and their cheeks are flushed red. Jongdae clears his throat and kisses Luhan once more, softer. „We’ll… cut that out.“ He mumbles and fondles Luhan’s cheek. Luhan nods quickly and pulls him in once more. „I love you.“

Jongdae smiles really really soft before he steadies his voice. „Come on, let’s finish this.“

Luhan smiles, his brilliant, beautiful smile that makes Jongdae’s heart race and reads out the next question. „Okay… Chen Chen.“ He chuckles. „Where am I from? And when I ask where, I mean exactly.“

Jongdae gulps.

„Uhm… so, you are from China.“

„Yup.“

„From Beijing.“

„Yup.“

„And…?“

„And?“ Jongdae whines. „What else am I supposed to now? The address?“

Luhan chuckles. „At least the district. Come on, I’ve told you about it a hundred times!“

„But why am I supposed to know that!“ he whimpers. „I can’t even pronounce it right, so I’m not gonna learn the names of the districts!“

Now, Luhan pouts. „I learned your whole damn language? And Korean is super scary!“

Jongdae drops his head and looks up at Luhan, defeated. „Ha… something?“

Luhan rolls his eyes. „That’s a point for me then. Hai Dian. It’s as simple as that. I need to take you there, definitely.“

Jongdae pouts. „Anyways! We’re even. Both got one wrong!“

„Okay, so whoever gets the next one right wins! Ready?“

„Ready.“

„Well then, Chen. If I could live anywhere, where would it be?“

„Mhm… in what sense? Perfect environment, job perspectives, or just because you want to?“

„Just because I want to.“

Jongdae thinks for a moment. „I think you would like to go back to China, to Haidian.“  Luhan chuckles and gives an approving look. „You’d like to go back home I think and live there. Where you grew up. That’s… yeah, I think you’d like that.“

Luhan smiles as he watches Jongdae speak. „That’s… almost right.“

„Almost?“

Jongdae pouts.

„Yeah, almost. If I could live anywhere, it would be in Beijing. But you’d have to be there. That’s my condition. Anywhere, as long

as you’re with me.“

Jongdae blinks before he feels his cheeks blush and then he wraps his arms around Luhan and kisses him briefly. „That was the sweetest thing you could’ve said.“

Jongdae chuckles. „I’d answer the same. As long as you are there, I’m fine.“

They smile at each other before they remember the camera.

„Oh well, sorry for that!“ Luhan smiles. „I hope this is what you guys imagined when asking us to do it? Thank you so much for

watching, see you next time!“

Jongdae nods quickly and smiles, waving. „Thanks for watching! Byeeeeee!“

Luhan stops the recording and looks at Jongdae. He looks accomplished.

„Actually, this was a really good idea.“

„Haha, yes.“

Jongdae slides down from Luhan’s lap and goes to save the video and then shuts down the laptop, editing is for later.

Luhan watches him and clears his throat. „Jongdae? Can we talk a little?“

Jongdae freezes in his movements and turns around. „Is something wrong?“

„No no no! Absolutely not.“ Luhan smiles and goes to hug his boyfriend. „I just want to … tell you things.“

Jongdae gulps but nods quickly as he leans into his chest. „Sure, you can tell me everything. Always.“

„Okay.“ Luhan smiles and his voice sounds a little unsteady.

Jongdae takes his hand and walks him to sit down on the sofa.

„So?“

Luhan smiles, a tiny little smile.

„What… what you said. About me being insecure. It’s … I’m not trying to keep anything from you, I hope you know that.“

Jongdae nods and over the back of his hand.

„It’s just that I’ve … I don’t want to mess anything up. Especially not with you. I don’t want you to ever worry about me in any way. I want to worry about you. Do you know what I mean?“

„Not exactly.“ Jongdae watches him.

„Well…“ Luhan looks up, a little bit shy. „I’m fine when you are fine. And I don’t want to tell you when I’m insecure about something because I know I’ll figure it out, as long as you’re there. Does that make any sense?“

Jongdae smiles. „I suppose. But I just want you to know that I’m there for you. Always.“

Luhan pulls him into a tight hug. „I know.“

He feels Jongdae’s fingers draw lines onto his back and smiles when he realizes that the lines form the Chinese characters for

„I love you.“

„You memorized them?“

Jongdae chuckles and nods. „Just the three. I wanted to do something cheesy.“

Luhan snorts. „How cute you are.“

„You are one to talk. I remember you being all cold and pushy and now you’re as tame as a puppy.“

Luhan lifts his eyebrows as he looks at Jongdae. „I was being considerate and granting you the boyfriend privilege. But you’re right, maybe I’m being a little too nice to you.“

Jongdae laughs and tilts his head. „You just keep talking, babe.“

„Mhm… Luhan his fingertips over Jongdae’s neck, slowly, and then he quickly reaches out to grab a fistful of his hair, yanking it back, harshly.

Jongdae gasps and his eyes immediately flutter shut.

„You’re getting really bratty, Jongdae. Maybe I should show you your place.“

Jongdae shakes his head and opens his eyes again, just a little, to look up and into Luhan’s face.

Their eyes meet.

„I think we’ve been here before.“ he mutters and blinks at Luhan. „You don’t need to proof how strong you are.“ He smirks and reaches out his hand to over Luhan’s cheek.

The grip in his hair tightens. „I know that I don’t need need to proof anything.“ Luhan leans forward and grazes his teeth over Jongdae’s neck. „But maybe I just want to remind you who you belong to.“

HIs breath tickles Jongdae’s neck, hot and wet on his skin and Jongdae leans into the touch. „Mhm…“

„Mhm?“ Luhan peppers tiny little kisses over Jongdae’s neck.

„I don’t belong to anyone.“ Jongdae manages to breath out, body wax in Luhan’s hands but he doesn’t want to give in so easily.

Luhan grins and carefully bites him, ling the skin into his mouth, leaving a hickey. Jongdae bites his lower lip to stay silent.

„Oh, I wouldn’t be so sure.“ Luhan whispers after he lets go of the skin and presses a kiss to the mark.

„But if you want to play, Jongdae-ah“ he chuckles, „Well, fine. Challenge me. I’ll make you want to belong to me.“

He digs the fingers of his other hand into Jongdae’s hip and that makes him shudder.

„Mhm… don’t overestimate yourself.“ Jongdae mumbles and keeps his eyes open, looking Luhan straight in the eyes.

The Chinese man laughs, a low, dangerous sound. „Same goes for you.“ He quickly squeezes Jongdae’s . then quickly lets go and kisses him on the mouth, a little too soft considering wha he had said earlier.

Jongdae blinks, as if he just woke up and he tilts his head as he looks at Luhan. „You’re something.“ But he grins and leans forward to kiss his cheek.

Luhan smirks. „Just because I’m nice to you it doesn’t mean that I’m a nice person.“ He brushes his fingers through Jongdae’s hair and then stands up. „We’ve got a video to edit. come on.“

Jongdae groans but stands up, too, clinging himself onto Luhan’s arm as he gets dragged to the desk.

Later that night they sit on the couch and watch one of those stupid reality shows and Luhan has a hell of a time, analyzing the people and whatever’s wrong with them.

Jongdae is more than fascinated as he listens to Luhan ramble on about everything he can get from them and he doesn’t understand how one can enjoy all this stuff so much. And to be honest, he doesn’t understand everything, either, but it’s cute to

watch him.

Luhan has to excuse himself as his phone rings, it’s his sister and according to Luhan, she never calls him unless her world is going to fall apart.

Jongdae curls himself up on the sofa, alone now and out of boredom, he checks his phone and then almost drops it, eyes wide.

He’s got two messages, one from Yixing which consists of nothing but a sad smiley and one from… a contact called Sehunnie.

From: Sehunnie

To: Jongdae

Hyung! I have a friend who goes to your university I think and he gave me your number! Isn’t that cool? I think we’re meant to be! Haha!

Jongdae stares at the message before he quickly deletes it and tucks his phone away.

If he keeps ignoring that brat, he’ll stop.

Eventually.

Luhan comes back after about ten minutes.

„Everything alright?“ Jongdae asks and Luhan just snorts and sits down again.

„She freaked out because she thinks she might be pregnant. That girl, I swear.“

„Oh my God. How old is she again?“

Luhan looks at him in disbelieve. „Exactly as old as me.“

Jongdae blinks and apologetically cuddles him. „Twins, right. Who’s older though?“

„She. But only 8 minutes and she thinks she’s special because of that.“ Luhan rolls his eyes.

„But still, I’m way too young to be an uncle. She’s going home to our parents now to talk everything out. I have no idea how she’ll survive that.“

„Oh my God. Does she know who the dad is?“

Luhan lifts his eyebrows. „I hope so, for her.“

Jongdae blinks and shakes his head. „Your family is so weird.“

„Hey! You are weird.“

Jongdae pouts. „I volunteer as a godfather if she gets the baby.“

Luhan rolls his eyes. „I hope it’s just false alarm. Mama will literally end her. Ship her back to China and lock her up forever. Poor girl.“

Jongdae coughs and wraps his arms around Luhan. „Thank God I can’t get pregnant.“

„I bet our baby would be super cute.“

Jongdae shudders. „I don’t want to talk about babies anymore. That creeps me ought. Oh, but by the way. Do you need to work on the weekend?“

Luhan blinks at the sudden change of topic. „I’m free this weekend. Why?“

Jongdae sighs. „Because we need to do an intervention. Minseok doesn’t talk to his boyfriend and Yixing sent me a sad smiley. I have no idea why he doesn’t get his together.“

„You figured out what’s wrong with Minseok?“

„Oh, I haven’t told you? He came here when you were already sleeping. They offered him a scholarship in Japan and he freaked

out because he doesn’t want to do it without Yixing.“

Luhan lifts his eyebrows. „That’s it?“

„I guess so. It sounds a lot like him, actually. He doesn’t like changes.“

Luhan groans and leans to Jongdae. „Thank you for not being complicated.“

Jongdae chuckles and kisses Luhan’s forehead. „You’re the complicated one, someone has to be normal.“

„Idiot.“

„I love you too.“

Luhan smiles and pulls him into his arms. „Let’s go to bed.“

Jongdae mumbles something incomprehensible and drags himself into the bathroom.

Luhan watches him and he can’t really believe how lucky he is because sometimes, things just fit perfectly and he seems to be one of the lucky ones.

Chapter 7: Author-nim... I admire your imagination and I adore the story. However... How, HOW, Could you make Luhan (ing Luhan) bottom in this chapter? I don't get it. It's it just me that hates Jongdae as a top in any exo pairing?
