"M–m–married?"

He nodded. "It’s the only way to help my mother."

"But you’ve never talked about marriage before."

"I never really thought about it before," he admitted. "I’ve always assumed I would get married… someday. I’ll just have to move up my timetable a bit."

She straightened and clasped her hands together. "And you want me… ?"

"I know this is asking a lot and goes beyond your job description, but I really need your help." He gave her an encouraging smile. "What do you say?"

Subin took a deep breath and exhaled slowly. "Yes."

Relief washed over him. "I knew I could count on you."

"You can depend on me, Luhan," she said with a curious intensity that warmed him and made him uncomfortable at the same time. "You can always depend on me."
