Lay's POV
"You have Coronary Artery Disease" Dr. Choi said as he examine the results.
"Excuse me?"
"It isa a disease where a waxy substance builds up in the coronary arteries. It blocks your blood from being distributed to your organs. It can lead to heat failure or heart attack. Lack of oxygen from you body, It is quite fatal, Lay"
"Can you cure me or anything?"
"I'll see what I can do. But for now I want you to rest and attend daily appointment." Dr. Choi said as he loooks at Lay, regretful.
"Will I die?"
"Hey Lay, are you listening?" Hana said as she was staring at me, concerned.
"Sorry. What?"
"What did the doctor said? You suddenly fainted as we were walking in the park." She said as she holds my hand tightly.
"Uh.. He said that I should get some rest" I said as I give a securing smile at her.
"Come on Lay. 2 Years of being friends. I know your lying" She raised one of her eyebrows and stares at me.
"What? I just need rest, okay? Nothing's wrong with me" I said as I kiss her forehead reassuring her that everything's gonna be okay.
Later that day, with Kris
"You have what?!!" Kris said as he spit his coffee to the ground
"Coronary Artery Disease, Kris." I said as I hide my face between my palms.
"And??!!"
"And.. I don't know!! I'm afraid!!"
"Does she know?" Kris said, concrened
"Hana? I can't bring myself to tell her." I said, as the fear of seeing her sad builds up in my mind.
"WHAT! Fine, I'll tell her"
"No..Please Don't." I said, begging
"She has to know, Yixing."
"I know, gege. But not now. I wnat to spend time with her...smiling. I don't want her to be concerned."
"Fine but in the end she has to know..So whhat now? You'll be suffering alone. This disease..It's slowly killing you." Kris said as he pats my back
" I know.. Just... I'm fine" I said.
"Tell me when and where is your daily appointment. I'll be there okay? buddy?"
"Thanks gege."
Author's POV
After a Week
"He's late..Again." Hana Said as she keeps checking her watch.
"Hana!!"
As she heard her name, she turned around expecting Lay. But it was only...
"Kris? What are you doing here? Where's Lay?"
"He..uh.. He has something to do" Kris said.
"Again...Is he hiding something from me?" Hana said, feeling down.
"No. It's not that...I promise Lay I wouldn't tell you.."
"Tell me what?" Hana said.
"What?!! I mean he has-- He... He has"
"He has what!!!"
"He has something for you, later at night" Kris said as he was suprised he couldn't tell Hana Lay's health.
"Really?"
"Uhh...Yes. Now go. Get ready for tonight." Kris said as he gently pushed Hana away.
As Kris saw that Hana is far. He run towards the hospital where Lay is resting now.
"Lay!! I'm sorry dude"
"What? Why!"
"I got pressured.. and I said you have something for her tonight."
"What! Why tonight? I have an appointment with a specialist.."
"I'm sorry, Lay"
"It's okay. Call people who can help you and fix my house with balloons.. with everything." Lay said.
"Okay."
"Oh and Kris, make it unforgetable"
"Don't worry."
Later that night
"Suprise!" Lay said as he takes away the blindfold.
Hana, suprised, hugged Lay as if there were no tomorrow. Suddenly, Lay felt pain from his heart but he ignored it and hugged Hana.
"Thank you. I love it." Hana said as she kissed Lay in the cheeks.
"Anything for you" Lay said as he accompany Hana through the floors full of balloons to the couch full of petals and picks up his guitar.

"Did you like it?" Lay said
"I love it. I thought you were avoiding me or something. I really love it" Hana said as they hugged and eat until they are full.
One month after
"Come on, Lay. Breathe. Just relax" Dr. Choi said
"It hurts.. It hurts here" Lay said as he was clutching his chest.
"Kris, help me. Set him down the bed."
Kris held Lay down as Dr. Choi inject pain killer to Lay. After a while, Lay fell asleep.
"I can't do this anymore" Kris said, broken down.
"I'm really sorry. It became worst. I did what I can." Dr. Choi said as he helped Kirs to the chair.
"Is there nothing you can do?"
"We can try surgery but it's just 50/50% of success. Also, he needs to stay here, in the hospital." Dr. Choi said as he gave Kris some water to drink.
After a While
Lay woke up with a slight headache.
"Hana?"
"Nope. Kris. Are you okay?"
"What happened?" Lay said as he sit up.
"I don't know. We were going to your appointment when suddenly you started to clutch your chest. I drove you to the ER where they injected you with painkiller."
"I'm sorry. For all of this." Lay said as layed backed down.
"Hey. It's okay." Kris said as he fetch some water for Lay
"Where's Hana?"
"In her house. I cancelled your date today so you can rest...Lay you need to tell her"
"Tell her what!! Her boyfriend is dying and leaving her for good and breaking all his promise! What Kris!! Tell me the exact words to tell her!!"
Kris began to worry. For the first time in his life, He has never seen his bestfriend suffer like this.
"You know what leave me alone. I don't need you!!" Lay shouted.
"Lay. stop this. Stop! Look, I'm not giving up!. Neither are you. But Hana, she's hurting too. You need to let her go." Kris said, regretful
"I know it is not in my position to say this but let her go. She keeps on waiting and waiting. If you don't want to let her go, tell her. Tell her this! This disease your fighting" Kris said
"I can't okay? I can't tell her and I can't leave her." Lay said as he buried his face to the pillow.
"Okay. Fine. I'll support you either way.Okay?" Kris said as they did their bro clap
After 2 weeks

Hey, we need to talk. Meet me under the tree at 3.

"Lay!" Hana ran as soon as she saw Lay standing by the tree, their tree.
"I miss you. You didn't answer my calls and we didn't hangout." Hana hugged him tightly but Lay didn't move."So what are you gonna tell me?"
"I want to break up."
"Excuse me?" Hana jolt backed a little, suprised on what he said.
"I want to breakup with you. I need space." Lay said, as he looks at the sky
"Space? You need space!! Didn't you have already this past few weeks." tears began to forms in Hana's eyes
"Let's just breakup,okay?" Lay said, looking a little annoyed.
"What? WHy! I thought you love me?"
"Where did your promise go? Where's that I will never leave you and everything will be okay go?" Ha na said as she grabs Lay's hands
"Where did the old Lay go? Where did funny guy who I used to spend time with? Where is he?"
Lay said nothing because if he do he feels like his voice is gonna crack just like his heart now. The pain he feels now is too much to bear compare to the actual pain from his heart.
"He's gone. Forget him. He is long gone" Lay said, as he puts up his traight face and stop the tears from falling. Hana, searched his eyes for that warm and loving eyes but all she saw was cold and darkness.
"I--I..Please tell him that I will always love him.I love him. And I..I don't know how to forget about him because his my life and I..I don't know."
The warm heat that Lay felt in his hands are gone. and as he looked at her, he saw the face he feared the most...His hopes are gone. He convinvced himself to stay as Hana turn around and walked down the hill, away from him. He tried to maintain his position but in the end, He burst into tears. He accepted all the pain and let out all the tears he has kept. All the regret and amger he has build up. All the memories that was dear for him, gone. The smiles she has that he thinks of everytime he gets to be in pain, blurred. The girl he most treasures, broke down in front of him and he was the reason. The reason she cried. The reason she is alone. The reason she has that permanent scar on her forever.
As he reminisce, a figure appeared in front of him.
"Are you sure about this?" Kris said "The surgery? It can end your life, Lay"
"My life ended as she turned her back on me."
"So what now?"
"I need her to forget about me." Lay said as he went inside the car and disappeared from Hana's life.
