Nervousness is eating away at him despite his usual carefree demeanor. Chanyeol has never been so scared and worried in his life; after all, a proposal is something big and he does not want to mess it up. He only has one chance and knowing Kyungsoo to be a perfectionist, he does not want to disappoint. Kyungsoo might never outright say it, but Chanyeol can tell. Knowing each other for five years and dating for three already, he has learned all the quirks of the younger one, and while Kyungsoo is a good actor, he has never been able to perfectly control his eyes, the slight dulling of their brightness an indicator for Chanyeol.



They are on a short vacation with their group of friends. Chanyeol has figured it would be romantic to propose at the beach with all their best friends as witnesses. After all, they have found each other through their friends, the whole group growing together, as well as Chanyeol and Kyungsoo growing together. They are not the only couple within their group, but they are the only couple with a steady relationship, when Sehun and Jongin are alway on and off, and Baekhyun and Jongdae keep taking breaks from each other to go and date others, only to come back together. It is irritating to watch, but it makes Chanyeol the more grateful for Kyungsoo and him sticking together through all the ups and downs in life.

Right now Chanyeol is happy to have Kyungsoo taking a nap, head resting on Chanyeol’s shoulder. Sehun and Jongin are sleeping, too, and they look so peaceful and cute like that that he has to take a picture. He is glad that right now the two youngest of their group are back together, clingier than ever. Baekhyun and Jongdae, too, are good for now, talking in hushed whispers in the seats right behind them. It will take about one more hour until the train will arrive in Busan, and by then it will be late afternoon. Chanyeol wonders if the perfectly idyllic scenery will be the same when they are out on Haeundae later tonight. Probably not. After all, he and Jongin have planned a special event that will bring back the feelings of rebellious youth. He can only hope that it will make Kyungsoo happy and loosening up again.
