Chapter 16
MAMACITA: Secrets of San Mar ValleyAs new recruits, MinJi and Ryeowook receive their training. Kyuhyun is told shocking news that might break his team forever.
MAMACITA
Traitor:
MinJi wasn't sure how long it took to convince both herself and Kyuhyun to keep their hands off each other. It had to be at least another hour. Once they were both dressed, Kyuhyun kept his word about the training he promised by deciding first to bring MinJi to combat training with Eunhyuk. This was the first time Eunhyuk had an actual trainee, so Kyuhyun wouldn't stop breaking a sweat over the possibilities that could happen. MinJi tried to assure him everything would be fine and he agreed, though the tense look on his face would say otherwise.
"You don't know this moron like I do, MinJi," Kyuhyun said, "He has a problem with being careless. Not to mention you're the first person he's taught."
"What about Sungah?" MinJi asked.
"I wouldn't exactly call that teaching," Kyuhyun replied. When Kyuhyun and Sungmin first formed their organization, Eunhyuk was the first to teach Sungah all about fighting. He ended up getting Sungah into the hobby of bullfighting for over a year until there was an incident that almost cost her her life. Kyuhyun could still remember how much he yelled at Eunhyuk for it, telling him he almost got her killed. Eunhyuk always had a habit of taking it in stride, not seeing any deeper meaning to his actions. He was always the kind to not think before he acted and had the nerve to smile about it. Kyuhyun had a problem with him ever since.
The two entered the arena on the outskirts of the town. Eunhyuk was already there dressed in his usual bullfighting attire, spangle and all.
"Como estáis," Eunhyuk greeted with a smirk.
"Wipe the look off your face," said Kyuhyun.
"No can do, boss. This is a big day!" Eunhyuk replied, "It's nice to finally get some carne fresca under my wing."
"Call her that again and see what happens," Kyuhyun glared.
"Kyuhyun, relax," MinJi said. She reached up her hand to caress his shoulder which seemed to calm him, "I trust Eunhyuk knows what he's doing."
"Sí, Mija," Eunhyuk grinned. When he saw the annoyed look on Kyuhyun's face he quickly wiped it off, "Okay, so let's get started."
"So how exactly does this training work?" MinJi asked while she walked with Eunhyuk and Kyuhyun to the empty bullfighting arena.
"It's easy. It's all about strategy and quick thinking." Eunhyuk replied.
"Something you know none of," Kyuhyun mumbled under his breath.
"Don't bully him," MinJi said, nudging his side.
"You can't blame me for being skeptical," Kyuhyun said, "If this goes wrong Eunhyuk, you're getting shot in the face."
"Don't worry, boss-" Eunhyuk laughed. He grabbed MinJi by the arm to bring her further into the arena, "I'll take good care of her."
"Fine," Kyuhyun replied, "But I am not watching."
"Give us a second?" MinJi said to Eunhyuk and he let her go. MinJi once again assured Kyuhyun she would be fine and asked him to at least stay there with her. He agreed under the condition that if she got hurt, Eunhyuk would officially be run out of any teaching privileges.
"Okay, I understand, boss," MinJi smirked and reached up to kiss him.
"I think you're my favorite person who calls me that," He chuckled, causing Eunhyuk to roll his eyes at the public display.
"Are we doing this or not?" He called out. He felt too much like a third wheel at the moment. He couldn't help but realize that this must've been how Victoria felt whenever he was being like this with Missy around her. She had every right to be mad at him.
"Go on," Kyuhyun said to her, "Show me how tough you really are."
"Okay, MinJi. This drill goes as so," Eunhyuk started explaining as he went to take a bull out of its pen, "You must learn how to think fast when it comes to real-life combat. This bull represents someone who will over-power you and will stop at nothing to kill you. If you can win a fight against this bull, you should be able to win a fight against a man."
"Sounds simple enough," MinJi nodded.
"Oh, and also-" Eunhyuk said, tossing her a red bandana to tie around her neck, "Remember to dodge quickly, or else your ribcage will be crushed and you will die a painful death."
"Watch your words, Eunhyuk!" Kyuhyun called out as he made his way to the other side of the arena.
"Okay," MinJi responded nervously. In the next moment, Eunhyuk released the raging bull and MinJi clutched the red bandana. Her other hand gripped the knife Eunhyuk gave her.
Here goes nothing...

Meanwhile, Ryeowook met Sungmin down in the hideout for his training. He was late due to the incident with Sungah earlier in his shop that ended in possibly the best scenario of his life. He had no idea where it came from, but regardless, he found himself with a new sense of strength he didn't know existed inside of him. He didn't feel afraid anymore. He had been sparring with Sungmin for the past two hours. He could feel the adrenaline leaving his body the more he fought and the more he sweat. However, he didn't want to stop. He wanted to get everything right.
"Ryeowook, you have to kick higher if you're going to reach my hand." Sungmin laughed, flicking his white hair to the side, "Maybe you need a break."
"No, I can keep going," Ryeowook replied. He wiped his sweaty forehead as he panted for a good breath.
"As much as I admire the enthusiasm, you're taking a break." Sungmin smiled.
"Just one more," Ryeowook pleaded, "One more and we can be done. I need to get this right."
"Okay. One more and you're done. This time you start by attacking me. So do it. Come on." Sungmin gestured for Ryeowook to come closer. "Attack me."
Ryeowook took a deep breath and lunged a kick at Sungmin. Sungmin quickly grabbed Ryeowook's ankle in mid-air and pushed him so his back slid on the cold floor. Ryeowook jumped back up and blocked all of Sungmin's attacks. He grabbed Sungmin's neck so he could knee him in the stomach. Sungmin gripped Ryeowook's wrists and turned around, making him able to easily flip Ryeowook over his shoulder. Ryeowook then swung his leg and kicked Sungmin's ankles hard enough to make him fall on the floor with him.
"Not bad," Sungmin chuckled as he stood up. "You can have that break now."
Sungmin held out his hand to help Ryeowook stand up. They both wiped more sweat from their foreheads and caught their breath. Sungmin then got dressed so he could look suitable for his day job as a normal man upstairs in his bank. Despite the sweat, he hid away his real hair with his brown wig and put on his glasses. He was back to that sweet and innocent look that most seemed to admire about him. It was something that could never be taken from him.
Once Sungmin was fully dressed, he trotted upstairs, leaving Ryeowook alone. He looked down at himself and saw that he was pretty sweaty as well. Little did he know, that Sungah had entered the hideout behind him. She bit her lip as she stared at him while he put his shirt back on, remembering what had happened with them only hours ago in his shop. They didn't do or say much after that. It was mainly just them lying on the floor together to think about what he had told her; That he had always known her better than anyone else because she was the only one for him. The only thing she said before kissing him goodbye was saying he was right, because he was the only one for her, too.
"You could've just left it off. It's nothing I haven't seen." Sungah said which made Ryeowook jump in surprise. She giggled at the fact that she managed to scare him. "How did your first training session go?"
"Oh-good. It was good," He replied, still recovering from the scare she had given him, "What are you doing here?"
"I came to check on you," said Sungah. She came closer, "I also wanted to give you something."
"What is it?" Ryeowook asked. He finished buttoning up his white shirt, much to Sungah's dismay.
"This," Sungah showed him a brand new .22 pistol, "Kyuhyun said that you could have one, so I picked this out for you. Never used. I could teach you how to properly shoot it if you want."
Ryeowook couldn't help flinching at the sight of the gun. It was the same model as the gun he had stolen out of Siwon's drawer those years ago. He had sworn he would never touch another gun after he buried it. The only exception was when Sungah was in danger. He had no choice if he wanted to keep her safe. When he thought about it, that was the only reason he ever picked up a gun. It was always for her. Perhaps he could think this moment was the same reason. She wanted him to have it. That was the only reason he took it from her hands.
"Don't be afraid of it," Sungah said softly. The way she was standing so close to him now made his heart feel like it was going to start palpitating.
"I'm not," He said. It was true. It wasn't the gun he was scared of at all. It never was. Ryeowook put his hand on her cheek and kissed her, "Think you could teach me how to use it?"
Sungah giggled, "I'd be happy to. There's a target on the other side of the room. Try hitting it."
Sungah put a silencer on the gun so it wouldn't hurt their ears. Ryeowook moved to the middle of the room and shot the gun at the target, missing it terribly and shooting the wall instead.
"Now I see what you're doing wrong," Sungah got behind him and reached her arms around him to touch his wrists. It almost seemed like she was embracing him from behind. "Bend your elbows a little. Just a little."
"Like that?" Ryeowook did as she said, feeling his heart beating faster.
"Yeah, that's good." Sungah smiled and placed her hands on his shoulders. "Relax."
What she was doing to him was making it impossible for him to relax anything. He tried his best so he could hide the returning urges of what they had done in his shop, but he didn't think he was doing a great job at it.
"One more thing," Sungah reached up on her toes so she could whisper into his ear, "Remember to not just pull the trigger. You have to squeeze it. Got it?"
"Yeah," Ryeowook whispered. He blinked a few times to try to snap himself out of it and focus on the task at hand. He took a deep breath and squeezed the trigger like she said. The bullet shot from the gun and pierced the target right in the center. He couldn't help but grin at his accomplishment, "I did it!"
"You did! I'm so proud of you," said Sungah. She pulled away from him so he could turn around to face her, "How did it feel?"
It felt way more than it should have. "It was...Nice."
"Nice, huh?" Sungah giggled, "Don't worry. You'll be a perfect shot in no time."
She took the gun from him so she could set it down then hugged him tightly, "Whoa, you are sweaty."
"Sorry." Ryeowook blushed as he hugged her back with hesitance.
"It's okay. I like it." Sungah replied which let him hug her tighter. "It makes you look good."
"Really?" He asked. He hoped she was thinking about the same things he was.
"Yeah," Sungah giggled again, "It makes me think about what we did to make your shop no longer a pure place to be."
"I thought I was the only one thinking about it," Ryeowook said, rubbing the back of his neck nervously.
"We could reenact it right here, right now." She said as she touched his forearm. He couldn't believe she suggested that. It wasn't like he wasn't thinking about doing the same thing for the past few minutes, he was just surprised she said it out loud. She continued, "Would you want to?"
She didn't wait for him to answer. She leaned in and kissed him, making his mind go foggy about his current thoughts. He didn't hesitate to put his hands on her waist to pull her closer. It sadly only lasted a short amount of time since Sungah soon pulled away.
"However, as much as I would love to do things with you in here, SoonYee and Donghae are still in the infirmary," She whispered into his ear. Her beautiful soft voice sent chills down his side. She continued, "We'll have to wait until we're home."
"Mine or yours?" Ryeowook asked.
"Yours isn't a bad idea," Sungah replied, "I wouldn't mind if it was yours every night."
It took a moment for Ryeowook to interpret what she said. He thought about it and wanted to slap himself for not being the one to think of it earlier.
"You want to live with me?" He asked like he couldn't believe it. She hummed in response.
"It's an idea," She said. Now she seemed like the shy one. She ducked her head down to hide the blush growing on her cheeks. He couldn't blame her for wanting to even if they weren't together. The things she's been through in her own house, why wouldn't she want to leave? She always felt comforted and safe with him around. He didn't mind that one bit.
"Then I'll see you tonight. And all the nights after," He smiled. His response made her look back up into his eyes all excited and hug him tightly.
"Okay," she said and gave him another kiss, "I'm going to go check on MinJi's progress. I'll meet you at your shop."
After one more kiss goodbye, Sungah trotted back up the stairs, finally allowing Ryeowook to take a proper breath. Once he put on his work jacket, he was the next to leave the hideout.
__
MinJi's body flew to the ground, making her groan and spit out dirt. She couldn't believe this was the fourth time she got knocked down like this. She only managed to stab the bull once and it wasn't even in a fatal area. Eunhyuk wouldn't tell her where the weak spots were because he wanted her to "figure them out" for herself. That made her want to smack him a million times as of right now. Maybe Kyuhyun was onto something...
