“Shoot! I’m so dead.”

The curses were like a mantra to her whenever she woke up late for her meeting. She blamed the late night work that her apathetic boss wanted. It needs to be detail and flawless. You won’t be the employee of the month if you keep being careless – his annoying and cynical tone was just boiling her blood to the brain. She hated her job but for the sake of being not jobless, patience was surely virtue.

Hair was loosely tied in a bun, her shirt was messily tucked in, and blazer was half-wrinkled. Kang Seulgi was indeed a mess. Her steps were limited with her pencil skirt and killing heels plus with the paperwork and files in her hands were making it much worse.

Curses under her breath and impatience taps on the heel were barely heard in the elevator. When she arrived at the lobby, she ran as fast as she can to call a cab. Maybe, today was less miserable when she got a cab in less than a minute and the driver completely understands her situation as he sped up to 100km/h on the road.

She paid extra for his kind thoughts before rushing inside the building and life couldn’t get any worse as she stumbled to the floor with the papers scattering around the floor before she could reach to the elevator. Shoot these stupid heels. People around her were too busy to help but not for this one man. He kindly helped her with papers and like in dramas, their hands brushed and she slightly flushed with the sudden touch. She could only mumble thanks and she caught a glimpse of his warm smile before she went to the elevator with pink-tinted cheeks and a slight smile in the hectic morning.

It killed her when the meeting was actually canceled and she couldn’t hate her life more than now. Instead, the meeting was cancelled for an urgent staff meeting. Being a secretary wasn’t her dream but these difficult days, she had no choice and dream was just a dream.

“I’m Lee Seunghoon. As you’ll be informed, I’m going to replace Director Yang as he decides to retire earlier due to some personal reasons. I hope that we can work as a great team.”
