“Hey, stranger.”

I jumped in my seat, before smiling brightly upon catching sight of the handsome guy I had been waiting for. “Yixing!”

“Thanks for meeting with me,” he smiled back at me, with that dimpled smile that made my heart race.

Geez, Kang Juyeon. Quit being so desperate.

“Hey, anything for my best friend,” I smiled as he settled into the chair across from me.

Ouch. That’s all we’ll be. But, hey, that’s cool.

“I actually had a reason why I wanted to meet with you…” he hesitated. “There’s, um, something I’ve been wanting to tell you.”

“…tell me?” my heart began to pound faster. Oh my god, I had a dream like this last night. It ended with Yixing confessing to me, before we ran off into the sunset together, on a unicorn. Please, please, let it be like last night’s dream, and not the one before, when I dreamt I had spaghetti coming out of my ears.

“Well… Zhou Yan, I… we’ve been friends for so long, I can trust you, right?”

“Of course,” I smiled softly. Despite everything, Yixing was really my best friend before anything else in the world.
