Elvia: Withering Earth

Description

In the outskirts of the world Elvia, the earth has started to crack, breaking of into the endless abyss. Almost as if the magic, that had flowed out into the world at the dawn of time from Beoda, - the tree of magic and life, a tree created by the god Elvi, possesing great power beyond the imagnation of the living and maybe even the dead - had run out. At this point in time, we find ourselves at the temple in Arthri; the temple of Elvi, housing people some would call magicians of Elvi, others priestesses and priests of Elvi as well as their protectors, shieldknights. Here, we find Ri'enia, apprentice of the High Priestess of Elvi, Gail'e, as she and her shieldknight, Xiumin, travel together with Ri'enia's master to find a way to stop the very earth they stand upon from withering away. A quest to find Beoda; the tree many others have sought to find but failed, and a struggle to find people brave enough to venture with them on this quest where returning alive is not guaranteed.

The mist is spreading,

far and wide, the rising of hackles it brings

Bring with you the warmth

and safe you shall be from dead of mists

The road of mists is dangerous and long

only for the brave or the foolish

Though, foolish or brave travel it you must

if the end of road you wish for is at my feet

Foreword

I apologize for the small part of a poem I made in the start. I know it's horrible. Though, the need for it will be explained in later chapters. (Also, English isn't my first language so I apologize for any mistakes that may occur. Feel free to notify me if there are some really irritating mistakes, and I'll correct them as well as I can.) Comments will be appreciated a lot! ^^

In this story, I will have a wordlist in the back of it as well as some small explanations for some of the creatures, and such, we meet along way. In the wordlist, there will be an explantion for some of the words that are from the "old language" as well as some idioms, I may throw in/make up here and there. Creatures, as well as some lore, will be added as they appear, or as there is references to them. (More information can be added later by me, if I think there is something that is missing, or if there is some information that is requested, that I feel I can answer without giving some of the story away and such.)

Idioms/sayings, and words that I made up, will most likely be marked with an asterix to make it easier. If you want a translation for them, just look in the wordlist, they should be there unless I forgot to update the wordlist. (In which case, I'm really sorry.)
