[Read FULL reviews here] Props for Concealed Identity

I’m not much into historical dramas, but this one was interesting. It felt like I was reading an anime only though it’s with Korean people and not Japanese. I personally enjoyed the story even though one chapter has been created (so far). I’d like to see what happens to all the characters throughout the story. - WRX161

In the first part I was hooked in instantly since you started strong with war and deaths. It was mysterious and raised a lot of interrogation marks. I admit it was a bit dragging at some point because you really focus on description, but it is common for beginnings to be that way, so I gave it a chance. As the plot is really out of the ordinary, I really didn’t know what to expect - I usually can predict plot twist really fast, sometimes spoiling it for people around me (sorry) but yours got me furrowing my eyebrows the whole time. (It’s a good thing) - Ace

Swordsmen can have so many different personalities and unexpected twists, because they can experience some traumatizing events. Therefore, I love reading all the swordsmen in your story and even more excited to read about how they grew up. - AMizuPen

It's a good story, over-all. Though it could probably use a few tweaks here and there,  it's a really good read. There are not many historical fan fics out there, so I'm happy you decided to write a story like this. I will continually praise you for your writing skills. I'll definitely remember this story. - AlisCookieMonster

Thoughtful, gives a synopsis of the story without revealing enough to be considered as a giveaway. Only a few writers are able to distinguish the fine line between giving less than expected and more than wanted information. -sundayswithstella

At first, I thought it was going to be a little bit boring, however, I was wrong! Everyone have their reasons to act that way, and I’m very curious to know what is going to happen, or why something happened. -Alecchi at ❀Cherry Blossom Reviews❀

Considering there arent' many fics like yours, I have to say you did a really, really good job in writing this. I honestly believe this could be the next script for a movie, aha! I know it has 'development' in it but I mostly rate on how the characters is (which may be developement?? Idk). I really loved how each character had their own set personality and all had a specific role in the story. They all seemed like they belonged there, one way or another. -The_BlackStar

I like the choice of characters. You chose the actors, making this fanfic like a written K Drama (which as I fully understood, it kinda is). There are a lot of characters, and every one of them needs to be described, but for now I like how you developed the characters that you presented in the chapters you written for now. It's great how you actually wrote those flashbacks to "show" us the main characters a bit more.- ♔ Sugar Free Review Shop [Busy!] ♔

If I were to judge individually, I'll say Inpyo is the best developed character by the second chapter, we can already see his respect for the king and his love for Yoomi. With your descriptive writing skills, we are able to feel his struggles and connect well with the character. - Pelenophile

I've got to admit, the story's plot sounds very good to me. I don't think I have ever seen a plot like this on this site and it is very refreshing to see a Joseon story following the life's of different guys and their friendship through time. The tags so far on the genre are very real and let the reader know what is expected. The story took around six chapters before it got to the main characters and everything starts setting in, but it was worth it. In Joseon dramas it always takes time before the real action begins, and one of the main reasons for that is the fact that with more of the background story, it is easier to understand what is to come and future events. There should be more Joseon stories like this one out there. - Reading is Beautiful / Jackiedp00

At first glance the title did not captivate me. I feel I have seen ‘Concealed Identity’, ‘Hidden Identity’, or variations upon this before. My first association is with spies but not necessarily kings and warriors. I think the fact that this story is a Joseon drama is one of its unique points and a title that indicates more clearly that readers are dealing with a historical drama might be interesting and set it apart. - Rover Review Shop / MirreRover

The story's relatable in terms of the characters' mindset and some circumstances. One of them is when the king forces the crown prince to marry, this still happens in real life. As for the relatable aspect, I could relate to the characters in terms of wanting their revenge. They have gone through some serious stuff so I get where their deep sense of revnge comes from. - BLK Review Ship / kpoperrose

The characters are the most interesting thing to me. They have so many different sides of them that it makes me even more interesting. I love how they developed over the time and how much they changed. It suprised me. The relationship with the characters seems white complicated in the story. - Reading is Beautiful / Sweet_loves_Exo_ships

In your story, the characters and the setting clicked together. There wasn't a moment where I thought they went out of place. Plus, the characters didn't appear out of nowhere and each of them were connected to the other. They influence and affect each other without even knowing it. Moreover, you didn't ignore the events happening around the palace and the bureaucracy, competent ministers, etc. Even the sub-plot (the one revolving around Inpyo, Yoomi and Minho) was not irrelevant. - Mystic Multi Shop / choden

Yi Yeong is my fave and I'm not exactly sure why. He just ... Man, that character. Right into my heart. <3. I think he has great potential to be someone very complex but I mean, that's your decision. I like the fact that he focuses on the pen, that he thinks knowledge and being a scholar is "better" than being a mere soldier. Same characteristics I somewhat like in Jungseung and his mineral collection. But the other's seem to like the fighting aspect whereas Yeong refrains from it, he doesn't want to learn the way of the sword. And I find that somewhat intriguing about his character. He distinguishes himself from the others even though he isn't mentioned a lot. uwu - CamilleVendetta

The plot made me feel like I was watching a historical K-drama. I'm not even exaggerating: the detail, the dialogue, and the reactions that the characters expressed in the certain moments were breath-taking. This story is one of the best stories I've read with great character development and writing style. - Club Nevermore / 500sunny500

I don't often read historical stories, as most of them a very heavily filled with a lot of details, which makes it sometimes hard to read. But this plot is very interesting though, and can be used right away to create a movie or a drama from it. It's a perfectly storyline that could have happened in the past. I wouldn't be surprised if it did happen. It is very realisticly possible. - Steph's Bookclub / StephLovesKCulture

The plot for this story is well thought out, I could tell how much work and thinking you put into this story, you even had many other review shps give their opinion on this story. This story has a lot of different elements in it and with stories and works nowadays you will see lots of different genres clashing but you have that all in a balance and it works out quite well. - The Library / Julie_Cavi

Usually, in conventional historical genres whether it be a film or a paperback, the contents are always painted with countless actions and tensions that will have the audience gripping on the legs of their chairs and if your story was a movie, it would probably radiate the same effect. In short summarization, the occurrences in the story begin somewhat mild like a rollercoaster slowly climbing on the railings and then in the middle, the rollercoaster stops and the audience heave out a deep breath as they’re clueless about subsequent events and then suddenly, the rollercoaster descends on the ground and the scenarios in the story finally begin to be sensical. I would have to admit that there was also a point in time in which the actions puzzled me a bit because there were too much transpiring simultaneously but they weren’t repetitive and that was good. - thunderingexo

You have shocked me in good sense, after I read how many characters you had. You manage 58 characters, you managed to develop every each of them. No any reader don’t know exactly how to develop his characters, he/she either focuses on one or two. As i already said, the character development is more than okay. You take your time to develop every each character and let him/she tell his own story. - BLK / deedee_zelo90

Like I said before I am not a huge fan of stories that take place in past dynasties but I found myself intrigued by your story, it is paced nicely and each chapter makes you look forward to the next one. - BLK / Natocuty

Despite having so many characters, you manage to develop each of them very well. That is certainly a very good! Each character has their own story and you made sure to give each of them enough time to develop and tell their story to the readers. - BLK / -Vminatic
