Staring at his mother as he processed her words in his head, Bobby felt as though his world was a paradox-- it was moving towards a brighter future, but at the same time he could picture it crumbling down too. Going back to South Korea meant that he would become an official trainee at his favourite company, YG Entertainment, and prepare for his debut; but it also meant that he had to leave his family and Jennie behind in order to pursue his dreams. This was one of the hardest decisions to make in his teenage life, and he felt confused and somewhat lost when forced to choose between the two options. Bobby had never expected this to happen. He loved his family so much; it would be so painful to leave them so as to live in South Korea to become a YG trainee. But on the other hand, he knew that if he had rejected this golden opportunity, he would hate himself forever. But--

"Isn't this always your dream?" The gentle, soothing voice of his mother disrupted his train of thoughts, and Bobby shifted his eyes to meet the determined, strong gaze of hers. "Don't worry about us. Umma, Appa and hyung can survive well on our own. Go ahead and pursue what you've always wanted, and give it your best shot." Mrs Kim tightened her grip on Bobby's hand with a loving smile on her face as she spoke, before passing him the letter from YG Entertainment that could determine his future. "We will always support you. Do us proud, baby."

Her encouraging words, along with that loving smile and gentle facial expression made Bobby's heart wrench in sadness. Nodding his head in response, his arms found their way around his mother and hugged her tightly as his eyes watered. "I--I'll do you proud, Umma," his voice wavered as he tried to hold back his tears. "I promise." Mrs Kim squeezed him tight in her embrace as tears flowed down her face in silence. It was heartbreaking for her to let her son go on this treacherous journey to stardom, but if that was what he wanted, she would always support him. Afterall, Bobby had the talent, and even companies like YG Entertainment recognised it. Who was she to deny him of this chance? Gently patting his back, she found her voice back and smiled before pulling away from Bobby. "Go pack your bags soon, baby. Remember to tell Jennie about this, okay?"
