        In America, you pledge your loyalty and faith into a democratic government. In Korea’s underworld society, you pledge your loyalty in the Joker through blood and cold sweat.  It takes years to become a highly respected figure in the Korean underworld; however, it takes seconds to lose everything and anything.

            For Kim Jongin, he has another go of reviving one of the biggest Mafia organizations the planet has to offer. After pulling a disappearance act for two years, he is determined to regain his footing and his pride. Shortly after the embarrassment of having his right-hand man betray the Joker, his enemies are skulking about, anticipating his every move. Second chances come rare in the underground society. So what exactly will our Joker do with the undercover cop, Do Kyungsoo, and his first love, Choi Na Hee?

“I’m sorry I’ve been a failure.”

                The wood creaked as the young male approached the static figure. The silhouette that sat patiently in the refined wooden chair didn’t utter a word. Instead, he looked out of the grand glass-stained windows. His daughter had created the window herself when she was younger. But she’s gone now. She left for a more peaceful place – a place where nobody can find her.

                “I don’t need your apology.” The hoarse whisper was nearly inaudible. The young male strained his ears to catch the words directed towards him. “What do you do when you fall down?” The young male fell silent.

                “You get up and try twice as hard. I want you to kill him, Jong In.

                                Kill Do Kyungsoo.”
