“Have you decided?” Soojung suddenly lost her appetite hearing her mom asking in interrogation mode.

“Not yet mom.” She keeps her focus on her English breakfast, not wanting to give her mom any chance to nag her even further.

“Heish, this girl. What is so hard about it? You basically can choose and all of them come from good background.” Her mom grumbles again.

Yes they are, and look what happens to our family because you and appa married because of family background.

“The reading of the will will commence next month. You’d better have your fiancee by then.” Her mom leaves her alone in dining room.

Suddenly feeling suffocated in her own house, Soojung grabs her phone. I need to get out from here.

“So in the end, it all comes back to marriage.” Amber sips her greentea latte thoughtfully. “Society thinks it is the end goal for all women.”

“Actually I don’t mind being married. What I don’t want is being married to someone I barely know.”

“But you know each of them, right? Kim Joonmyeon? Kim Jongin? Oh Sehun?”

“I do, but that’s not the point. I don’t want to be married to someone I don’t love. I don’t want to have marriage like my parents.” Soojung sighs.

Amber nods in understanding, she is fortunate to have parents with happy marriage. Even though her mom had passed away few years back, her father never remarries because his love towards his late wife is too strong.

“Guess we all have our own problem. Appa finally letting me go to Germany.”

“That’s a good news, Unnie!” Soojung is happy for her friend, but the look on Amber’s face doesn’t look too thrilled with the good news.

“He lets me go, but he won’t give any help to me.” The young doctor sighs deeply, lost at words.

“Unnie, I have an idea which will solve both of our problem. But it is really a crazy one.”
