Jongin tried, he really did. It seemed as if Zitao had a barrier around himself, keeping everyone from getting too close. Jongin used to want to figure out why Zitao kept that barrier around himself, but now, Jongin just wants to be the one to break it.  Jongin finally builds up the courage to confess to Zitao, but what he finds out is heartbreaking.
