Mark's list

Marshmallow Is Sweet And So Is Revenge

Transferring school is hard, especially in a foreign country. Mark Tuan, a Taiwanese boy born in California, made a list about the hardships he faced as soon as his plane landed on the runway of Seoul airport.

He was listening to the music coming from his earphones, eyes covered with shades and busy reading a map of Seoul when something slammed against him, making him took a few steps back to regain composure. His map got crumpled a bit though and being the perfectionist that he is, he groaned. Maybe he'll get a new one later.

Well, not that he could really read what's written anyway.

He was fully depending on his mobile translator.

He looked up and met a pair of judging eyes. Oh, so it's a someone that was shoved against him.

"Watch where you're going, kid!"

Mark's jaw dropped a bit. "I-I'm sorry, what...?"

"What the hell, he just had to be a ing foreigner!"

The man looked mad but Mark did an absolute load of nothing to amend because he couldn't understand what this stranger was saying. What was he even furious about? It's not as if Mark wanted it to happen. Besides, it's not his fault this male's eyes seemed defective. He could have just avoided Mark.

Then the man stormed away, leaving a shocked Mark.

"Wow. Sorry that you bumped me." He murmured to himself with an eye roll as soon as he recovered. He took out a small notebook from the inside pocket of his coat and jotted down something.

The writing is harder than Morse code and the people speaks like alien.

He added to his list of The things Mark Tuan had to endure in Korea.

Mark had spent a good two months learning the language and a little bit of the culture and traditions and he must say, it was pretty interesting. Though it was difficult and he barely talked (because he still gets tongue tied and is usually stammering), he's getting used to it. And finally, when the first semester rolled in, he's prepared for it.

What he wasn't ready for though, was to meet the great Wang Jackson.

He has heard the boy's name being uttered by different mouths since his first day and Mark doesn't really give a . Because that's just how life is. Some people were born to be popular, others were not. He preferred minding his own business and that's what he intend to do. But then, as he was trying to imitate the garden in front of him using his drawing skills, he got a pleasant surprise.

The first ever person he had somehow managed to punch unintentionally in Korea was no other than Wang Jackson, the boy known to be a Casanova, untamed. Mark was genuinely worried for him that he didn't realize how he had spoken his native language until the other was replying in the same dialect. It made him happy to know that there was someone he could talk to in English.

He never knew it was the infamous Jackson until he heard whispers behind him that Jackson was escorted to the infirmary by a red-haired male. He fidgeted in his seat, trying to tune out the voices behind him and the sensation of having pairs of eyes boring holes at the back of his skull.

That night, a certain brunette pestered his mind, making him a bit sleep deprived. He decided to work on his The things Mark Tuan had to endure in Korea instead.

The people seems to talk about anything and everything.

The next day, he fell asleep under the tree where he usually hang out. And when he opened his eyes, he almost had a heart attack.

How long had Jackson been in front of him?

"Hey," Mark greeted and wow, talk about awkward. Jackson mimicked his greeting and silence engulfed them for a few seconds before Mark found himself saying, "I was about to look for you." which was not really true but Jackson wouldn't know. Besides, he would really look for Jackson after he's done with his beauty nap anyway, so it's partially the truth.

"Yeah, you'll find me by lying in there."

Mark blinked a few times at the sudden sarcastic remark before laughing heartily for the first time since he went to Korea.

Ain't Jackson full of surprises. Mark was intrigued and decided to ignore the way his heart stuttered.

The lunch was about Mark stuffing his face with food while Jackson did most of the talking and questioning. The male doesn't seem to really mind though, so all is well. Then Jackson told him about wanting to learn how to draw and he immediately offered his service, in favor of free drinks and maybe, just maybe, to spend more time with Jackson too.

By the time they separated, Mark thinks he could write a biography of Jackson's life but then, there's this funny feeling in his tummy he got at the fact that he learned a lot about Wang Jackson. All throughout the day he wore this particular smile and nothing, not even when he slipped and almost rolled on the stairs, had dampened his mood.

Mark had always been eyeing the rooftop since he transferred but he never dared set foot on it, because he thought it was locked. But then it wasn't and oh, he could do so much in this place since no one seemed to really go there. There were a lot of things he wanted to set into action in his mind but then he recalled that he hadn't been practicing his martial arts for a while. So practice he did.

During the last tumble he did, a figure on his peripheral vision caught his attention. He turned towards the door.

"Jackson?"

What could Jackson be possibly thinking about to let out such a... gay shriek? But Mark figured that it's none of his business so he didn't asked. He doesn't want to be seen as nosy, especially by Jackson.

"What's up? Why were you up here?"

"Uhh... Nothing. Just wanting to get fresh air."

Oh. Mark bobbed his head a bit and hummed as a response, trying to ignore the disappointment he felt. So what if Jackson didn't came there to see him? So what? So? Well, what the . He feels irrationally disappointed so he lied on his back and closed his eyes in favor of calming himself. However, he almost forgot that Jackson was still there and only remembered when he felt a pleasant warmth on his right.

"I didn't know you could do half of that."

Mark's heart hammered in his chest and he was afraid Jackson might hear it (he could get pretty paranoid at times) so he covered it up with a chuckle. Plus, he also thought that that was the appropriate reaction anyway.

"I'm taking that as a compliment, thanks."

Three weeks with Jackson passed by so fast yet so slow at the same time. Mark could remember how they spent their time together and so far, they've never disagreed on anything.

So why did Jackson suddenly stopped seeing him?

Mark couldn't think of any reasons. Was it because he ran out of money buying Mark drinks? Was it because he's already found another person who could teach him better? Was it because Mark stinks? But Mark makes sure to bath for at least an hour whenever they would meet up. So why? He wanted to know.

Because it hurts missing someone too much that sometimes he cannot breath.

"Jinyoungie," Mark whined. Jinyoung lifted his focus from his Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele to Mark who was sporting a pout and sparkling puppy eyes. Jinyoung rolled his eyes. "I invented that." He teased, but Mark's lower lip only jutted more.

"Jinyoungiieee,"

"Whaattt?"

"What did I do? What do I do?"

Jinyoung sighed but closed his reading material nonetheless. Ugh, just when Christian and Ana is about to go at it.

"I feel hurt that you only go with me now because Jackson rejected you."

"But I haven't even confessed yet!"

"Yet? So you will?"

Mark stilled. Would he?

Jinyoung smirked. "Why? Do you like him that much?" By then, Mark seemed flustered. "I-I don't really know. I'm not sure." He mumbled innocently.

"Well, let's put it this way." Jinyoung clasped his fingers together and rested his chin on top it.

"How does your body reacts whenever he's with you?"

"What?"

"I want to know if that stupid butterfly analogy is real."

"Oh. Uhh... I feel something weird in my stomach, like the feeling whenever I get excited or whenever I ride roller coasters."

", so that childish analogy is real." Mark couldn't understand why Jinyoung seemed so serious about this. What's his deal with butterflies? They're pretty and a hundred percent better than spiders.

"Next," Mark returned his attention to Jinyoung. "Do you have urges?"

"Urges?"

"Yes. To do this and do that."

"Urges... Like all of the sudden I stared at him because I wanted to kiss him or hug him?"

"And," Hey, did Jinyoung just ignored him? "Does your heart beat abnormally when he's around?" Mark's eyes widened.

"It does."

"Lastly," Jinyoung paused, trying to formulate his thoughts into a sentence carefully making Mark edgy. Mark even flinched a tad when Jinyoung finally muttered, "Can you accept everything that he is, even his flirty self?" The inquiry left Mark frozen. Why, he haven't thought of that.

"Wait. Jackson is still a flirt?"

"You didn't know?!" Jinyoung eyed him incredolously. Mark shook his head.

"I've never seen him with anyone before!"

"Oh. Well, if you put it that way, you're right. I haven't seen anyone with him since you..." Jinyoung trailed off, the mischief glinting in his eyes crystal clear. "Oy, you're getting off topic." He suddenly reminded and Mark groaned, wanting Jinyoung to finish off the sentence but coming up with an answer to the other's question was more important. Could he really accept Jackson for who and what he is?

He searched his heart, closing his eyes and trying to reach within. Jinyoung arched a brow. This is getting dramatic.

After a minute, Mark opened his eyes. "Yes, I can."

He received a stronger-than-necessary pat on the shoulder. "There, you have the answer." Jinyoung fumbled with his bag for several seconds before he was offering Mark a small pack of marshmallows. Mark frowned in confusion.

"What's this for?"

"Because to lure fishes, you have to have worms. Same with idiots, you have to have food. Trust me, it'll help you when you confess."

Mark was grateful but he didn't have to see Jinyoung's wink though.

"Jackson,"

Mark had been trying to talk to Jackson for a week now and when a chance finally showed itself when he saw Jackson alone in the garden, Mark gladly jumped into the opportunity. He observed as Jackson's prince-like features morphed from shocked to guilty, showcasing genuine feelings and he knew that his face was as readable as a book as well but he doesn't care. He had always been good in controlling his emotions and he barely expresses anything but now, in front of Jackson, he couldn't keep up an empty expression. "Are you avoiding me?"

Jackson remained silent so Mark continued. "You have not been coming to me anymore. Did I do something that offended you in any way?"

Mark's heart dropped when he received no answer. He sighed dejectedly.

"I'm sorry."

He wanted to run away but his steps felt so heavy and a hand was holding his wrist. He slowly faced Jackson again.

"Mark, I... I like you."

The words echoed in his head like a broken record, pumping his heart to go faster. Did he heard correctly? He tried searching Jackson's face for any signs that he was just toying with him but all he could see was the sincerity. He grinned evilly in his mind. He willed himself to deadpan.

"I'm sorry, Jackson."

Oh, sweet revenge.

But then, Mark could see Jackson's eyes glistening when their eyes met again. He instantly panicked. Then he remembered the marshmallows he still have on his bag.

"It's okay."

Jackson was smiling but even a blind person would be able to point out how fake it was. When Jackson turned away, he quickly opened the pack, grabbed the younger's hand, and pulled him in favor of pressing one of the fluffy chocolate sweets Jinyoung gave. He smirked at Jackson's surprised look.

"What?" He asked in a defensive manner, like he didn't do anything bad. Jackson swallowed the marshmallow.

"What was that for?"

Mark's smirk transformed into an authentic beam. "I'm sorry but I decided I will tease you first, is what it meant."

"What."

"I like you too. Since the first time you made me laugh."

Yes, Mark thinks as he stared at Jackson who looked like he couldn't believe what he was just told. He had always been fascinated by Jackson who is like a Rubik's cube. Jackson had a lot of sides and colors that's hard to comprehend but only making Mark want to solve him.

And solve he will.

He took out a pen and his handy notebook.

The spring is a bit colder than what I'm used to but I think I found someone who would warm me up.

He wrote as the last of The things Mark Tuan had to endure in Korea.

— おわり

I like it when Mark can be evil and innocent at the same time. LOL.

In the first paragraph, the man who bumped Mark was speaking in Korean while Mark was speaking in English. Then from the second paragraph onwards, they're speaking in Korean unless it's italicized.

This is the end of Mark's POV and maybe I'll do a real sequel. As in real sequel where they're already a couple. But I'm still not sure. Whenever a good idea comes to me, I guess.

I know this doesn't make any sense, sorry. TT TT

Thanks for reading this and don't forget to vote for GOT7 in Mama. <3

Bye~

Finally edited. Though I might still change some miniscule details in the future.

Edited again because . I just saw a major mistake from my last edit. Oh my goodness.

Why was it that everytime I re-read this, I see things I want to change? I'm sorry. Ugh.

Edited for an error. Watda. I didn't even noticed that until a while ago. O.O
