Chapter Four
You Captivate MeThe day of the big party, Suwoong was excited. He would finally have a chance to meet Minsu's friends and coworkers. Getting dressed for work, he pulled out the light blue button up he would take with him to change into after work for the party. Grinning, he texted Minsu, telling him how excited he was to meet his friends. Minsu's only response was an emodicon of him rolling his eyes, which made the younger man laugh. He smiled as he walked out to the parking lot, getting into his car. He would drive himself to work, for once.
The hours flew by, and before Suwoong knew it, his lunch time had come. Sighing, he glanced at Sunwoo, grinning. "Would you like to go to lunch with me? We can go get burgers or something. I'm starving!"
Sunwoo smiled back at him, shutting his computer down. "Sure. That would be great. I'm hungry, too. Let's go." They left work, driving to the diner they had chosen. Suwoong told him about his best friend and how he was going to a company party that evening. Sunwoo asked him if it was the same friend who had visited his work several times, and laughed when Suwoong blushed while answering him. After they finished eating, Sunwoo began driving back to work. Halfway there, Suwoong felt as if he head was spinning, sharp pains stabbing him in the side.
Sunwoo glanced at him, concerned. "Dude, you don't look good."
Suwoong shook his head, the action intensifying the queasy feeling. "Could you pull over?" As soon as Sunwoo pulled over, Suwoong stepped out of the car, puking in the grass. He put one hand on the car to steady himself, shaking.
Sunwoo watched him carefully, worried. "I'm going to call in for you, okay? This isn't cool." Suwoong's only response was a weak nod as he stumbled back into the car, slumping against the seat. Sunwoo was already on his phone talking to Wonjun. He drove back to work quickly, asking a friend to drive his own car to Suwoong's house while he took the sick man's car home. When they got there, Sunwoo became very worried about Suwoong when he barely made it up the steps.
Minsu glanced at his phone, unsure of why his friend wasn't answering. He should have been off from his work and had promised that he would go to the party. Now it was 7:00, and the party had already started, but he hadn't heard anything from Suwoong. Shaking his head, he turned to see Sungjun motioning toward the front of the room. The representitives from the entertainment companies had arrived, holding clipboards.
Minsu knew the auditions would begin soon, and that was nerve-wracking. He waited for his turn, glancing at his phone again. There still wasn't an answer from Suwoong, so he figured his friend had decided not to come or had simply forgotten about it. Either way was annoying, since this was a big moment in his life. This could determine whether he stayed at the dance studio or was picked for a company, so it could change his life forever. He would have liked for his friend to be part of that.
"Park Sungjun, would you come up here, please?" The representitive called him over the loud speaker.
Sungjun took a deep breath, grinning at his friend nervously. "Here goes nothing." Minsu gave him a thumbs up sign, grinning back at him. He walked up onto the stage, beginning his dance routine, his movements very fluid, as Minsu knew they would be. While he watched his friend dance, his mind returned to Suwoong. The younger man still hadn’t replied, and he knew he would go onto the stage soon. When Sungjun walked back off the stage, Minsu grinned at him nervously. He knew that he would be up soon, hoping that his friend
