Chapter 5.
If there was one thing that Kyungsoo could appreciate above all others when it came to Park Chanyeol, it was the fact that his tall friend was surprisingly good at reading people's moods and quickly working towards alleviating them when bad.
When Kyungsoo had returned to the English staff room after a horribly tense hour filling incident reports and getting witness statements from students who had seen the squabble that had occurred at lunchtime, Chanyeol, thankfully, hadn't even had to ask to get a fairly in depth understanding of the situation: although the paperwork was a general procedure, Minseok did not appreciate having to fill it out when he felt it could have been avoided, and being in close proximity to the angry math teacher for any extended period of time wasn't good for ones mental health — Kyungsoo, having been on the receiving end of much of Minseok's foul mood in this case, returned to the English staff room half the man he had left as. As someone who had experienced the wrath of Minseok before, Chanyeol was able to empathise immensely with Kyungsoo and had quickly gone in search of his friend, economics teacher, Kim Jongdae, to enlist his help. It had taken only five minutes of whispered planning between classes before their joining of forces was solidly confirmed: Jongdae would drag Minseok along with him even if it meant knocking out the forever difficult math teacher to get him to the bar, and Chanyeol would bring the always compliant and meek Kyungsoo. It was what the conniving duo could only describe as a fool proof plan: get their two uptight colleagues faced to effectively make them forget all their woes. With a final sly grin shared between the two, both teachers had gone their separate ways to (forcefully) rope their colleagues in. "We're meeting Jongdae and Minseok at the bar at 5:30 so meet me in the English staff room as soon as school ends. Don't bother arguing with me or trying to make up excuses to get out of it." Chanyeol said firmly as Kyungsoo prepared for his next class, his back his colleague as he sorted through class material. Chanyeol's order washed over Kyungsoo and it took several moments before it finally registered. Kyungsoo sighed and turned to lean against his desk. "But I need to prepare for my classes tomorrow." "What did I say about making up excuses?" Kyungsoo huffed before smiling meekly. "Fine, but don't expect me to drink much. I'm guessing this has come about because of Minseok's continued anger?" "Yeah. It's nothing that a few drinks won't fix though" Chanyeol replied with a grin. "We all know Minseok. Anything to do with paper work – especially if it's stuff he feels isn't necessary – leaves him ty for ages. He's always going on about how he would've gotten a job as an office worker if he knew being a teacher was practically the same. 'I became a teacher to teach, not all this other rubbish'" Chanyeol imitated the math teacher mockingly before rolling his eyes, making Kyungsoo grin. "Yeah well, I can sort of agree. I never anticipated so much paper work as a teacher as well, and filling out incident reports because of tw
