A [GOT7]
The aroma of the ice cream parlor lingered around the air. It had the smell of vanilla and chocolate which Hyunju really adored. She would come to work with a bright smile sitting on her lips. Was it because she loves to work? Or was it because of-
The bell hanging on the door jingled and a boy stepped in. Her eyes glittered at the sight of him like she had been anticipating for his presence since early morning.
Bambam.
There he was in a crew shirt and black jeans with a snapback over his head. Her heart raced, she felt like she needed a doctor whenever her eyes land on him.
Let's do this. She thought, feeling slightly nervous. It wasn't the first time she would come up to him and make a fool of herself by making mistakes. Was it because she always makes mistake? Or was it because she couldn't think straight whenever she's around him?
There was one time she would blindly write an order on her notebook because her eyes were too busy peering at him - his soft lips and fluffy brown hair. Hyunju would never fail to blush whenever he smiles at her. His smile was what drove her crazy, his face was what kills her.
Bambam's eyes glanced over his friend's shoulder and he raised his hand, signaling her to come to their table. Hyunju's legs stood rooted to the ground. Did they just make eye contact? He was gesturing her to come over for crying out loud! Was he going to talk to her about something else other than making orders? Was he going to ask if they could be friends? It was possible. Bambam wouldn't smile at her sweetly with caring eyes if it wasn't for one of those reasons.
"It's okay, Hyunju. I'll do it. I don't want you to be making mistakes again."
Hyunju froze when that voice appeared. She snapped her head to where it came from to see Miyoo smiling innocently at her. Her eyes were cold and dark. Her lips were smiling but hell, her eyes sure looked scornful. Miyoo was one of the workers too, just like her. She was that one worker who would hold back someone's weakness to smash it on their faces when the time is right.
Miyoo knew that Hyunju really likes that customer. She could already tell just by the look in Hyunju's eyes and how she would tense up whenever Bambam came. The opportunity to crash Hyunju with her hands was just standing in front of her. Hence, she would grab it.
Hyunju couldn't say no to Miyoo's suggestion. She hated to admit that she does make a lot of mistake, and it would just make a fool of herself. Nevertheless, she wanted to see Bambam up close that day. "Thank you, Miyoo but I can-"
"Just rest," Miyoo cut her off, her voice soft, yet sharp. The smile that never matched her eyes grew wider as she walked past her. Hyunju stood still, feeling the cold air-conditioned wind as Miyoo brushed past. She walked over to Bambam's table, and that smile didn't leave his face.
It was like he was born with smiling lips. It was like the smile was meant for everyone. The way he looked at Hyunju, the way he would crack a joke whenever he had the chance. Yes, he did that to everyone. Bambam smiled at Miyoo like how he did to her.
For a moment, Hyunju had completely forgotten that she was just a worker in that very ice cream parlor. There was a slight crack in her heart that marks disappointment. Just from that one thought, her dreams completely shattered. Well, she was just a worker after all. Bambam was just being kind to her. She just had her hopes high. Maybe, too high.
Who knows just by that one particular situation could lead Hyunju into this kind of state; gloomy and moody. She carried on with her job as per usual, avoiding tables that leads to Bambam. At least she tried.
"Feel it, hun? I made your heart a beautiful mess. Bambam sure is a lovely boy, isn't he?" Miyoo laughed, brushing her hair to the back. Hyunju couldn't careless anymore. Bambam would do that to everyone. He would treat every girl equally, so Miyoo wasn't anything special. Hyunju trudged towards the sink to do the dishes, ignoring the stare coming from Miyoo.
It was irritating. Miyoo was like a pest, trying to get in her way. "Well, I was thinking if I should, you know," Miyoo smiled. Even though Hyunju wasn't facing her, her ears perked up and she gritted her teeth, "ask him out or something."
Hold the up. Hyunju snapped and turned towards her, "Who cares. Who cares if you're going to date him. I don't like him. In fact, he looks ugly. He looks like a.. stupid... piece of.. wooden cup." She breathed, trying to catch her breath. Miyoo wasn't defeated a single bit. She just smirked at her silliness and crossed her arms.
Hyunju cringed mentally, Well done, Hyunju, well done. You just came up with the most lamest insult, she thought. Miyoo walked towards her, flashing mocking eyes towards her.
