I walk outside in the winter cold. I need to clear my head a little. I’m just too obsessed by her. I thought she was just a friend, at first. But my heart is aching to see her. Especially now, at Christmas Eve. I see a lot of happy couples ice skating on the little lake in the park and people being happy. Men and women playing in the snow with their dogs and fathers and mothers sleighing with their children. It starts snowing again. I wish she was here… Then I hear a familiar voice behind me.

“Kiki?”

There is only one person who gives me that nickname… I turn around and… I can’t believe what I’m seeing. It’s my secret crush, holding up two pairs of skates.

“Hey Kiki, I figured you be here… I was wondering… Do you wanna ice skate with me?”
“I uh… Sure…”
“Here, take them!” She laughs as she hands me a pair of skates.
