loneliness
Gracious Wishes"Why didn't you tell me?" Krystal asked, for she was slightly agitated. Jessica smiled and tried to cool her down, knowing that Krystal did not like being around strangers. Jessica went over to open the door for their visitor and was delighted with a warm welcome from her friend.
"Hey it's almost time!" Taeyeon said while hugging Jessica heartily once she saw the taller.
"Soojung!" she called, "Meet Taeyeon. Taeyeon, meet Krystal, my sister."
"Ah I see, so you're Krystal that Sooyeon has always talked about! Nice to meet you," Taeyeon said and stretched out her hand. Krystal awkwardly reciprocated the handshake, and Jessica laughed.
Soon after, Krystal was left alone in the house. She thought about what happened that day. She thought about Luna, and it dawned to her that Luna had a personality which was an exact opposite of hers. For some reason, Krystal was willing to begin making friends with Luna.
She suddenly realised that Luna had been on her mind for a while. Surprised, she stopped thinking about Luna, but asked herself if it was right for her to make friends.
"Of course it's right," Krystal said to herself and chuckled, it's whether I want to, she thought. Silly me...
"Oh homework!" she gasped, and started unpacking her bag for the work she needed to do. While doing that, she stopped herself, and her eyes darted from side to side. She had never been so interested in school before. Because of that, she had never done her work until they were due. However then, she felt the sudden urge to finally be hardworking.
After finishing her work, she yawned and looked at the time. Surprised that she did not take much time, she started to ponder. She then realised that she had almost no distractions at all, except for the whiff of delicious foods coming from the house of one of her neighbours. She stopped a while and inwardly giggled at the weird thought. She soon discovered that she was able to study well only because there was no one around to distract her- not even through social media.
It was then she finally felt lonely. After all the years of being alone without friends, she did not mind- she did not care at all whether people cared for her or treated her like a friend, or even thought about her presence. She was all alone in her own world. Now that she finally had Luna talking to her, she started to feel different. She started feeling left out. Going online on a social media platform, she saw people in her school being popular and all online- and she knew them, for they were popular in the campus too. Slowly, envy started to grow within her.
I'm sorry for a really late update! This fic has been kinda untouchable because of the jungsis... I'm only able to write it again because the second part of this chapter doesn't have Jessica, and she probably won't appear for the next few chapters too. Ok. Hehe.
