Prologue

Fate. According to the dictionary, it is the development of events beyond a person's control, regarded as determined by a supernatural power.

I don't believe in things such as fate or destiny, werewolves or vampires, in fairies or a boy who refuses to grow up or anything that could not possibly be explained through science. Nope I'm not that kind of smartypants who knows everything, I'm just a mere human being who can talk and act as a typical teenager should be.

Now let us talk about fate. It would probably be the last thing I will ever believe in my entire life.

But, that's what I thought... until this guy came into my life.

"They're beautiful aren't they?" I stole a glance of his face and by that moment, our eyes met.

"I-I guess so." I could feel heat rising on my cheeks as I played with the grass under my shoes. There was silence for a while and yet all I could hear is the unusual beating of my heart.

"Their life is very short just like us humans..." I lifted my head a little and I knew that the words that will come out on his mouth will make my heart skipped a beat just like what he always do. 

"That's why these trees tells us that we should cherish our lives with the ones that we love." I don't know but all I can hear is the hint of sadness in his voice. His acting strange today. His smile fades immediately, the spark in his eyes were gone and it almost feel like he's saying good bye.

"Eun Jae?"

"M-mwo?"

"Can I watch the cherry blossoms with you again tomorrow?" He said.

"O-Of course!" That's weird. There's a tiny voice bugging me. I'm scared. Somewhere in the pit of my stomach, it is really bothering me. I have to shake this feeling off. This is not nice. Stop it Eun Jae, Why am I thinking negative thoughts? Thoughts like we will never see each other again. My heart is pounding so hard. No. Why am I feeling like this?

"Promise me, okay?"

"Ne, promise,"

I never saw nor heard any news of Kyungsoo after that day, or the day after that and the day after that. It seems like tomorrow never came.

Me? I was left behind. Confused, filled with a lot of questions; still holding the word fate because I know I can find my way back to him.
