Key’s POV

I yawned and stretched as I slowly woke up. Today was the day my family decided to pack up and leave our entire life behind. I slowly looked around my room and tried not to name all the things about it I would miss, like the light pearl pink walls I’ve admired for so long or the perfect view of the park across the street. I sighed and looked at the clock, it was 5:30 which means I only had two hours to get everything together and leave. I understand why we had to move but it still I had to leave my best friends behind. Well their more like my sister’s best friends but I get along with them well.

“Kibum? “ Speak of the little angel now.

“Yenny?” I called letting her know I was awake.

She slowly pushed open the door and walked in shutting the door behind her quietly.

“Is Umma and Appa awake?” I asked admiring the warmth of my blanket that I still had wrapped around me loosely.

“Yeah Appa’s getting Umma ready, do you think we’ll be okay?” She asked sitting at the foot of my bed nervously.

“Hell yeah we’ll be okay! I am the Almighty Key and you’re his twin sister.” I said and she smiled lightly as she unconsciously started braiding a small strand in her long straight brown hair.

“I’m going to miss the girl’s.” She whispered before biting her lip and I opened my arm’s motioning for her to hug me, which she did almost knocking me off my bed in the process.

“It’ll be okay they can visit we’re moving an hour away.” I replied and she shook her head but didn’t reply.

We heard footsteps coming up the stairs and pulled apart before putting on our brave face’s, we both had to stay strong for Appa.

“Good your both up, do you have everything packed?” Appa asked looking at me with his tired eyes.

“Yeah I made sure he did, are you alright Appa!?” Yenny replied for me while smiling innocently at him.

“Yeah I’m fine sweet heart don’t worry, you need to get dressed.” He replied looking at me and smiled.

I nodded and he closed the door before retreating back down the stairs.

“Aren’t you scared about making new friends?” Yenny asked and I sighed.

At our school now I’m not really like due to the whole I’m gay thing but I could honestly care less. Even if I didn’t have many people who liked me I still had amazing friends who cared for me. We both jumped as a song by f(x) blared and Yenny smiled but put the phone on speaker.

“Hello?” I asked curiously not able to see the caller ID.

“Key!” I couldn’t help but laugh as I heard the girl’s yell through the phone.

“Yah! What about me!?” Yenny yelled disappointed.

“Well we called your cell phone so we knew you were there.” Yubin replied and we both rolled our eye’s at her sassy comment.

“Yubin unni! Be nice to Yenny unni!” Sunmi whined over the speaker and we both laughed.

“So aren’t you guy’s excited!?” I heard Sohee ask over the argument’s on the other end.

“No I hate the idea of moving!” Yenny blurted and I nodded even though they couldn’t see me.

“I’m sure you’ll love your new house and besides we can visit you like every weekend.” Sun scoffed and I couldn’t help but roll my eyes at her reply.

“I’m going to miss you all!” Yenny protested as I got up and started digging through my dresser, I pulled out some black skinny jeans, pink v neck t shirt, a black vest and some bracelets just to pull my outfit together.

“We’re coming over right now!” I looked over as I heard Yubin blurt through the phone.

“Wait but…” Yenny didn’t even get her sentence out before the call ended.

“Why don’t they ever listen to me?” She sighed laying back on my bed.

“Because their our friends although I didn’t expect then to stop by, now out because I have to change.” I said before waving at her to leave.

“Alright!” She grumbled rolling her eyes but leaving anyway.

I got dressed and checked out my hair in the small mirror that was left out from packing yesterday. I looked around at the few boxes and sighed, I’m really going to miss this place. I walked down the stairs and into the kitchen where my Appa was setting out breakfast and noticed my Umma wasn’t in here yet.

“Is Umma okay?” I asked sitting down a little afraid of the answer.

“She’ll be fine but the quicker we get there the better.” My Appa replied as he fished out another bowl and sat it beside me.

“Okay.” I sighed as Yenny came down stair’s with a box from her room.

“Appa the girl’s are stopping over before we leave to say goodbye.” Yenny informed as she sat her box down and sat at the table.

“That’s fine but remember we have to leave at 7:30 sharp.” He replied with a sad face.

Appa didn’t want to move us away but we had to for Umma, she has a heart condition that she has to take medicine for but lately the medicine wears off quickly. The doctor told us it was best if we all moved closer to the hospital so they could do test’s without having to move around so much. I liked the idea because I could escape some of my bullies here and have a fresh start, I could start all over and be a new me.

“Kibum are you alright?” I looked over startled as Yenny whispered to me.

“Um yeah sorry I was lost in thought.” I mumbled as our doorbell rang.

Yenny jumped up and ran to the door excitedly swinging it open and hugged all the girl’s as they had a small scream fest.

“Girl’s.” Appa warned as he smiled lightly.

“Sorry.” They all whispered and I couldn’t help but roll my eye’s at them.

“Don’t worry about it she should be up soon.” He replied smiling up at the steps before heading up them.

My Appa love’s my Umma a lot, sometimes I try to imagine how great it would be to have a love like theirs.

“Sunmi don’t cry!” I looked over as Sohee hugged her tightly.

“I’m sorry I know we agreed no tears but I’m really going to miss you guy’s!” She said wiping her eyes.

“Awe you guy’s will be okay, you can come over and visit all you want.” I looked up and smiled as my Umma slowly walked down the stair’s with help from my Appa.

“Really!?” Sun asked and Umma nodded resulting in all of us cheering and hugging in excitement.

“So Key are you going to find us some cute guy’s at your new school?” Yubin asked using my nickname as she smiled.

“Yubin you already have a crush on someone and I don’t need you to scare all my potential friends.” I replied washing mine and Yenny’s dishes.

“I wouldn’t chase off all of them only the one’s who don’t deserve you as a friend.” She mumbled under her breath.

“Isn’t that the same thing?” I asked and she rolled her eyes.

“Bye guy’s! I’ll call you when we get unpacked at the new house!” Yenny yelled out the car window as we waved to our friends.

We received a chorus of ‘goodbye’s’ and ‘see you sometimes’ before we pulled away. I had bought my blanket with me because there was no room in the back and it was getting pretty cold outside. I curled up tightly in it and laid my head against the window so I could doze off and pretend at least for a little longer that I wasn’t leaving my home.

“Key.” I grumbled as my sister tried to shake me awake.

“Key come on wake up, we’re here!” I slowly opened my eyes and looked around outside my cocoon to see the new house we would be living in.

It was actually pretty cute compared to our old house, it was a light blue color with white trim and on the second story was a small balcony.

“Come on!” Yenny cheered pulling me out of the car by my wrist.

The inside was even better! The living room was a tan color with a dark brown trim towards the top and a door way lead into the big kitchen that I already fell in love with the second we stepped into it. The floor had black and white checkered tile’s and the cabinets were a pale green color, the counter and island were spaced out perfectly and the best thing in the room is there was a coffee machine!

“We should make coffee.” I blurted and Yenny rolled her eyes as she laughed.

“We’re not even done touring through the house.” She replied.

“So we can do that later I’m tired and I need coffee.” I walked over to the machine got it running in no time.

“Where’s Umma and Appa?” I asked sitting on the counter.

“Appa took Umma to the hospital so that they could register her now.” Yenny replied as she sat up on the counter as well and I nodded not replying.

“I’m nervous.” She blurted and I looked at her.

“You? Why are you nervous?” I asked confused.

“Well we are going to a new school tomorrow what if thing’s are different, I don’t want to stick out.” She replied leaning back against the cabinets behind her.

“Who care’s if they don’t like us they can bite my .” I replied nonchalantly and we busted out laughing.

“Okay I guess your right, coffee’s done.” She said hoping off the counter and walking over to a box that was label dishes and pulled out two coffee cups.

“Did I mention I love coffee?” I asked pouring me and her both some.

“Yes like every time we see a coffee machine.” She replied sarcastically as we both stood looking out the back sliding door.

The back yard was spacious and it had a huge garden full of vibrant colored flowers sort of because it was like mid-fall, pff details. There was also a tree house that was hidden by the over grown branches but it meant the place was secret.

“You know we could go explore the town.” She offered after we finished our cup’s of coffee and set them in the sink.

“We could but I think we should unpack a little bit first so Appa doesn’t have to later.” I replied finally giving into my need to clean the dishes we just put into the sink.

“You just want an excuse to clean up, Fine we’ll clean up but I get first picks on bedroom!” She said before running up the stairs.

I quickly got to work and we were done loading everything into the house in no time.

“So which room did you lay claim to?” I huffed as we headed up the stairs.

“This one it has a balcony! But there’s three other room to choose from.” She replied pointing to all the door ways.

I carried my box with me as I looked through all the rooms, one room had a small walk in closet and a big window above where the bed would go, it looked really nice so I left it for Appa and Umma. The next room was an ocean blue color with a small closet and window but before I made my choice I went into the third room. The wall’s were a boring white color and it had a closet and a window bed in the corner, out of all the room’s I liked this one even though it was boring I could just paint it. I started pulling my boxes into my room and kept most of my thing’s packed up because I was planning on painting it later.

“Since we’re done can we please head out and have some fun now?” Yenny whined from the doorway while giving me puppy eyes.

“You know those eyes don’t work on me.” I replied looking in some of my boxes for a black hoodie because it was getting too cold outside for my vest today.

“I know but please!!!!!!” She whined holding out the last word.

“Fine! Just stop with the whining and go get dressed.” I grumbled finally finding my hoodie and pulling it on.

I walked downstairs and pulled on my white and pink high tops, what can I say I love the color pink.

“Yenny! Hurry up or I’m going to leave with out you.” I yelled and she ran down the step’s almost tripping.

“Sorry I was trying to find my panda jacket.” She protested but smiled innocently.

“Alright let’s go.” I opened the door and we looked around, I wasn’t awake when we arrived so I didn’t know any type of layout of the town.

“I texted Appa and told him where we would be.” She said stuffing her hands in her pocket’s to keep them warm.

“Good call he doesn’t need to worry about us, now where are we going?” I asked and she smiled before pulling me along.

I admired some house’s as we passed them and slowly made our way towards some shop’s and stores, my weakness in life shopping.

“Look I saw this place on our way home!” Yenny pulled me into a store and our eyes widened.

The place was so much bigger on the inside then you would’ve thought from the outside and the clothes where pretty cool if they weren’t all girl clothes.

“Yenny you realize there is nothing but girl clothes here right?” I asked but she was so shocked she didn’t even hear me.

“Fine you can go shopping but after wards I get to pick the next place.” I pushed her towards somewhere other than the entrance, where everyone could see her gapping like a fish out of water.

“This place is awesome! I promise I’ll hurry!” She said before leaving me by myself.

We didn’t leave until an hour later and I don’t know why I expected anything different we are twin’s and I don’t think I would leave a store this big until the next day.

“Ok where do you want to go?” She grumbled and I bit my lip while I looked around until my eyes came to a help wanted sign.

“There.” I pointed to the store and she rolled her eyes unamused.

“A coffee shop you know your going to die from drinking all that coffee.” She said.

“Will not! And besides there’s a help wanted sign I’m going to see if I can get a job there.” I walked ahead leaving her slightly behind.

I was super excited and even more so when I walked through the door and the strong scent of coffee beans greeted me. I love coffee maybe even more then I like shopping, I noticed not many people where here but there was a girl working at the counter.

“Um excuse me.” I said politely and she looked up and smiled.

“Hello.” I walked closer to the counter since I was practically standing by the door.

“You have a help wanted sign and I was wondering if I could get a job here.” I said trying not to be nervous.

“Sure thing hang on real quick.” She returned minute’s later with some papers and handed them to me.

“Alright fill these out and return them and we’ll give you a call when you get the job.” She instructed smiling.

“When? Don’t you mean if?” My sister asked and I gave her my shut up stare.

“I’m pretty sure  he’ll get the job since he’s such a cutie!” She said ruffling my hair and my sister looked at me annoyed while I stuck my tongue out at her.

“Come on we need to get home.” Yenny sighed as she grabbed my arm and pulled me along.

We walked passed an ally way I heard what sounded like faint crying, I’m not sure why but my instinct’s took over and I ran down the ally and came face to face with a boy about my age who was curled up in a ball.

“What’s wrong?” I asked and he flinched before looking up.

“I need help.” He had tear’s running down his face and he looked terrified.

“Key! What was that about!?” Yenny immediately stopped as she saw the boy.

“What happened?” She asked worriedly as she dropped her bags and crouched down next to him.

“These kid’s from my school where attacking me and I can’t go home because they’ll find me again.” He cried and I instinctively pulled him into a hug.

He returned the hug shocking me a little bit and cried into my shoulder. Yenny gave me a sympathetic look and held up her phone while I nodded. I don’t know why but it felt normal to hold the crying boy, he had light brown hair and was clutching tightly onto something I couldn’t see.

“What’s this?” I asked poking the object in his hand after he had calmed down.

“My phone, they broke it.” He sniffled.

“That’s alright I wont let them whoever they are hurt you again.” I assured and he smiled up at me.

“Sorry.” He said wiping his eyes with the back of his sleeve.

“You don’t need to be sorry, my name’s Kibum but you can call me Key.” I offered my hand to him and he took it smiling.

“I’m Taemin.” He replied as my sister came back down the ally.

“Appa’s here he can take you home if you would like.” Yenny said and Taemin nodded.
